A charming umbrian olive plantation nestled in the hills of Umbertide with panormic views. Caimeli is a villa and a guesthouse located on 16 ha. with an infinity swimming pool and yoga studio.
An authentically restored 18th century olive plantation with a main villa and a guesthouse located on 16ha. of rolling empty landscape with a drop dead infinity swimming pool and a Yoga studio of 65 sq. meters. All of this is encompassed by olive, cherry and nut trees and surrounded by empty green hills and valleys on 3 sides. The fourth side is our access to humanity which is only a few minutes to the center of Umbertide.
What is great in the area. I enjoy sitting on the terrace at sunset looking at the horses grazing in the fields and drinking an appertif or swimming in the pool and smelling the fresh lavender with each breath .
There is a wonderful article in the New York Times Travel article from September 25, 2011
The insides are a meeting of modern and genuine with wooden beams, terracotta floors and white washed walls accentuated by Igor Mauer, B&b Italia and other assorted home-grown talent. There is a restaurant size kitchen with all the utensils for those slow food nights.
Outside there is a pergola terrace for dining with a barbecue We also have a garden with a fire pit for enjoying the umbrian stars.
We have also a film library for your enjoyment and you just have to choose from the list and ask the housekeeper to give it to you.
We have also many fiction and non-fiction books for your perusal and we only ask that if you take a book then please leave one behind for the next guest.
Secluded, yet only minutes away from restaurants, shops and within 1 hours driving time to cities such as Perugia, Assisi and Spoleto. Overlooking a beautiful valley, the house is totally private with an attached pergola for lounging and dining. Cai Meli is on a 40 acre estate of fruit and olive trees with an organic garden providing fresh vegetables, spices, and olive oil during your stay.
We loved our stay at this house a stylish property with plenty of room and perfect location. Near enough to Umbertide for all shopping with privacy and peace back at the house (and no anxious drive over the infamous white roads of this area!). James was the perfect host, keen to ensure we had everything we needed. We hope to return!

Our stay at the Caimeli villa in the summer of 2012 was one that exceeded our expectations by far. Greeted with some bottles of prosecco as a kind welcoming gift we found the house to be spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. Wandering down to the infinity pool made us very excited and happy to stay at this beautiful place for a whole week. The reservation and contact with the owner prior to departure went flawlessly and he was very open to any concerns and questions we had. For a group of people who want to celebrate a holiday with friends or family in a peaceful, tranquil area this is definitely a good choice. Restaurant and supermarkets are very close by and one reaches cities like Perugia, Arezzo and the beautiful lake of Trasimeno within 30 minutes by car. All in all we had a wonderful week at this property and it is definitely to be recommended!

We had a great stay at lovely guest house. There were a lot of
opportunities to have a great time in Umbertide. It was nice to not only have
dinner at a local restaurant with the owner and his cute dog Thia but also to
visit some of the recommended restaurants around Umbertide. We enjoyed the
great view from the endless pool and also the tranquillity of the yoga retreat
house next to it. For one afternoon, we were able to join the host for a visit
in a vine dresser's house, were we had a nice stay because of the tasty food,
vines and welcoming local people also spending their time in the cosy kitchen.
The guest house is lovely furnished, so that we immediately felt at home.
While being located at a hill just outside from Umbertide, it is a great
starting point for visiting several spots for different activities, be it
riding a scooter lent from a nice german expat, enjoy the nicely rebuilt city
and churches in Assisi, pay a visit to the lively and beautiful city of
Perugia or simply explore the beautiful ambience of the landscape typical for
Umbria. We are very happy for having chosen this place for our honey moon
and receiving the owners thoughtful hospitality. Also we greatly enjoyed the nice
guests that stayed in the house, which we were able to meet in a nice and

Our property was very well equipped and extremely comfortable. The key highlights wee, of course, the stunning setting, the wonderfu poo, meals on the patio, and last but not least the supply of Helen and Norman as two new friends for our children. Good luck for the future and we hope to return before too long.Xavier, Fiona, Luke and Louis Plumley August 08United Kingdom
