Cottage overview - owner's description

Charming Tuscan cottage with fabulous pool set in a medieval village of just three beautifully restored cottages. Surrounded by olive groves and natural beauty, everything for a relaxing family holida

This tiny village can trace its history back to medieval times. In recent years, thoroughly restored and given a new lease of life. Retaining as much of the old charm - whilst providing three lovely independent holiday cottages for you to enjoy in Tuscany.

"Il Forno Cottage" is for 4 - 5 guests, with one double and one single bedroom and an additional sitting room with sofa bed. The cottage also has a second sitting room, kitchen/diner, terraces surrounded by lovely gardens - and a pool with stunning views.

There is an ancient stone oven for pizza or barbeque along with a BBQ "pit" for you to make the perfect Tuscan food. Everywhere you go in Tuscany, you will find great - and inexpensive - wines to enjoy.

Perfect for spring and summer. The charming estate of Borgo Tranquilitta is surrounded by wooded hills of olives and bucolic charm that surround it like a garden and immersed in beautiful countryside, the vistas are phenomenal. The large crystal swimming pool which has been idyllically positioned for the splendid views is the perfect place to cool down on a warm summers day - or, to sip some wine and enjoy the remarkable sunsets.

Although the houses have central heating, each has a large open fireplace welcoming early and late season visitors. The cottages can be rented individually or for a larger group of say, 10 guests when a large communal sitting room is also available for all guests.

Castiglion Fiorentino is about 7kms. which is midway between the historic towns of Arezzo and Cortona. Lake Trasimeno with its pretty beaches is within easy driving distance.

From here you can relax, unwind and enjoy the lovely scenery - or, there are day excursions to Cortona, Arezzo, Montepulcinao, Pienza, Assisi and more. Wine is a famous Tuscan export and you can use some of your time here to explore the many vineyards or go on a wine tour (In English, Danish, German) and enjoy some of the superior wines Tuscany has to offer. Other activities in the area are cooking classes, truffle hunting and numerous festivals throughout the year.

A Taste of Tuscan Tranquility" We found this wonderful little house by chance while on a touring holiday in September. The owners were very helpful in accommodating us for a last minute booking & prepared the house in a matter of hours ready for arrival - even staying up until after 11pm to greet us at the property. It turned out to be a wonderful find, nestled amongst olive groves on a hillside not far from Castiglion Fiorentino & with great views across the valley from the private pool. This was the first time we had stayed in this part of Tuscany & although it was an all too brief stay of only 5 days we had plenty to keep us occupied. Blessed with beautiful weather while we were there it was very tempting to spend all our time relaxing by the pool. But we had come here to explore & so tore ourselves away to visit some of the charming nearby villages with their historic buildings & cobbled streets not to mention great places to buy the local produce, cheeses & meats. A sort of foodies heaven it turned out be. The property is situated along a fairly bumpy road & about 2Km from a local shop, bar, & what turned out to be a wonderful local Pizza restaurant offering excellent food & good value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here & were very sorry to have to leave after our all too brief encounter.

Welcome relaxation. After a hectic year of work, this was what we needed to recharge our batteries. Far from noise and distractions made it even better. It is away from the city, but a shop and restaurant are about 3- 4kms perfect for our needs For the week, we had the place to ourselves. The beautiful pool surrounded by olive trees - our base for much of the week. The sunsets were fantastic and the walks around the village and its surroundings were great - The owners were warm and helpful. She gave us some of their own oil and wine to say welcome. For us the main reason for choosing this place was quiet and we had found it - in abundance!

This was our second visit to Italy and first to Tuscany and Umbria. This little paradise is set in a truly charming rustic Tuscan village. Fantastic views from gardens and pool. About a 12 minute drive to the main town and a bar/shop half way. Locals very welcoming and house very well equipped and very peaceful..
