Detached house (80 m²) on one floor and in loft or open-plan style, with a veranda (25 m²). The house was built according to the latest regulations on energy saving and is part of a beautiful farm. The Garfagnana is a hilly region between Tuscany and Liguria, which retains the charm of nature and small medieval villages. Rural and hilly area (600 m. a.s.l.) immersed in the nature and near Castiglione Garfagnana, a small medieval village with well-preserved old town. Distances: Castiglione Garfagnana 10 km, Pietrasanta 53 km, Lucca 57 km, Pisa 78 km, Florence 129 km. Services: all kinds of shops and supermarket 1.5 km, riding stables 3 km, tennis court 5 km, golf course 8 km, ski runs 26 km, thermal baths 38 km, free beaches and bathing establishments (Forte dei Marmi) 55 Km. From the residential units and the property you can enjoy a panoramic view over the valley, forests, mountains and historical centres. The area is quiet, mostly wooded. The 150,000 m² property with lawn with trees and forest is crossed by internal hilly but walkable streets and paths. Exclusively for guests: Private outdoor area with natural lawn (300m ²), large covered veranda with sun beds, table, chairs and barbecue. Shared among all guests: Large pool, lighted and equipped with beds, tables, chairs and parasols; Parking for two cars on the property, not covered and close to the accommodation. It is possible to visit the farm, its stable and vegetable garden, to go for pleasant walks in the area, to fish at the nearby river Serchio (2 km), and to collect forest products (mushrooms, chestnuts and walnuts). The house consists of one large room, which is divided into areas, its numerous large windows can be darkened by curtains, the sleeping area with double bed is separated by a curtain. Ground floor: entrance via the veranda with table and chairs, living area with satellite TV and a single sofa bed, in one corner is the dining area, in another corner there is the sleeping area, separate kitchen in a small extra room, equipped with oven and freezer; hallway, bathroom with shower, toilet. Furnishings in rustic style, with terracotta floors and beamed ceilings, internet, cot and high chair included. Central heating with under-floor heating (powered by a central wood -heating system). The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.
