Villa overview - owner's description

Casa Luisa is a typical Italian property and an outstanding example of the 1920's Art Nouveau architecture, characterised by its salmon pink facade.

Our accommodation is a holiday apartment which occupies the entire 1st floor of the villa and is well suited to smaller groups and families who are eager to discover the enchanting region of Puglia by car or local public transport.

Situated in Bari's Picone residential area, you and your guests will be within walking distance (5 minutes max) from the Mongolfiera Pasteur shopping centre, which offers an excellent range of shops, bars and moreish restaurants. But if you fancy visiting Puglia's renown attractions such as Alberobello and Ostuni, you can hop in the car and catch one of the main roads leading out of Bari, or you can make the most of the regional train service, running directly to Matera from the local train stop.

The interior is large and luxurious, with equal measures of antique and contemporary furnishings. Then there's the swishy balcony that hugs two sides of the property, allowing you and your clan to enjoy the villa's beautiful grounds, from the comfort of your bedrooms.

Casa Luisa's substantially generous lounge has an enveloping corner sofa for eight and a large plasma television. And from the dining area, double doors open onto the patio, where a large table can be used for al fresco dining. Speaking of food, use this time away to get accustomed to Puglia's delicious 'Cucina Povera' so you can then attempt to recreate these hearty dishes when you return home.

The first double bedroom has an impressive four-poster bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub. The second charming bedroom, on this floor, can be formed into a twin room upon your request, and a large single bedroom with a separate bathroom concludes the sleeping arrangement here. Internal lift provides easy access to the second floor, hosting an intricate, wood beamed attic with cosy lounge, fireplace, playcards table and a further double sofa bed in the alcove.
In the rear of the villa, you will find a luscious garden and an opulent pool that is surrounded by sun loungers and upholstered outdoor seating. The Art Deco themed poolside is bursting with character and has suitable natural shade from the sun, making it perfect those lazy days by the pool.

Bari is both a port city on the Adriatic Sea and the capital of Puglia. Its maze-like old town, Barivecchia, occupies a headland between two harbours and it is surrounded by narrow streets where the 11th-century San Nicola cathedral can be found. To the south, the Murat quarter has stately 19th-century architecture, a promenade and pedestrianized shopping areas.
Casa Luisa is situated in the residential Picone area of Bari, just a 15 minutes drive from the airport and a few minutes walk from a range of shops, bars and restaurants. You can also visit the region of Matera, which will be the 2019 European World Capital of Culture. Luckily, you can access this beauty from the local train station.

When we arrived at Bari airport the transfer we arranged with Olivers Travel ( the agent) did not arrive, we were waiting in the airport for an hour before we decided to just take a taxi which cost only 25 euro's, the agent wanted 50 euro's + VAT so being ripped off there.
The villa was nice and we enjoyed our stay, alot of building work going on next to the villa so it was quite noisy at time.
Our rep was Vanessa, her English was very bad so it was hard to communicate with her.
I would recommend going to the villa but i would NOT recommend the agent as a company, they took far to long to do anything and if you wanted to make a complaint you are told to put it in writing, you can't get to speak with anyone direct.
No real apology was ever made from them about our transfer either.
