Villa overview - owner's description

Holiday home in Attimis, a quiet town on the eastern hills of Friuli, only a few minutes' drive away from the center of Udine (18 km). Here you will stay in the historic part of an 18th century villa, characterized by its original architecture and decoration, and partly equipped with antique furniture. In the large park there is a private chapel, ideal for weddings and christenings. This is the right place for long relaxing walks or mountain biking tour: the bike path runs directly in front of the villa. Check-in only between 16h and 19h. The area is famous for its excellent wines and is also an ideal starting point for all gourmets, visit San Daniele (27 km) famous for its world famous raw ham. The owner, who lives in the other part of the house, is happy to take you on a guided tour through the villa. A curiosity: in the park of the villa stands a "Fargna" oak, which was declared a "veteran tree" because of its great age! This area has numerous old castles, including the impressive remains of the upper and lower Castles of Attimis; they are within walking distance. Other suggestions for your excursions: Cividale del Friuli (16 km) with the old town UNESCO World Heritage Site, Gorizia (47 km), Udine (18 km), the beautiful Trieste (98 km) and of course Venice (147 km).

The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.
