Villa overview - owner's description

This outstanding holiday villa in the heart of the Valpolicella is located in a 10,000 m2 park surrounded by a high wall made of river pebbles. You reach the property by an avenue of large magnolia trees. The house, characterized by the continuity of its spacious interiors and the striking contrast between the rough stone of its walls and the elegance of the yellow marble floors, is located over three floors with a view on a large central open space, with the staircase and the fireplace. Large floor-to-ceiling windows characterize the living room and the billiard room, the latter is suspended above the pool. The impressive central hall serves as a link between all the rooms of the living area: dining room, billiard room, library, TV room and fitness area. The elegance of this house is characterized by its art pieces, high-quality furniture and antique pieces, all carefully selected by the owners and combined with elements of modern design. The sleeping area is accessible from two different sides via the two large stairs which lie above the central open space. A large gallery with noble wooden cladding looks out over the hall, connecting the two vertical corridors with the bedrooms and the bathrooms. The five bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning. On the upper floor there is a sauna. One of the outstanding features of this villa is its wonderful exterior: English-style lawns and romantic corners with flowers, ornamental plants and large conifers, in the shadow of which you can find secluded places for an undisturbed reading. The pool is completely embedded between these green areas and the house. The property also offers a large terrace, ideal for socializing meals in the fresh air. A small children's playground in the shade of the fir trees will delight children. The house is located in the heart of the Valpolicella, only a few kilometers from Verona - with its immense artistic, cultural and natural heritage - it offers fascinating treasures for every taste. In addition to the well-known cultural and artistic tours, there are also a variety of alternatives for a holiday characterized by nature, sports, peace and gastronomy. There are numerous wine taverns and wineries in the area, where you can taste the excellent local wines. With prior reservation and payment on site, cooking classes with star chefs of Verona can be organized. The caretaker of the villa lives in a separate building within the park. During the summer months, the Arena of Verona offers a wide range of classical operas and music concerts, while drama, ballet and jazz performances can be enjoyed at the Roman theater. In less than half an hour's drive, Lake Garda, with its famous seaside resorts and amusement parks, can be reached; There is no lack of opportunities for beautiful walks in the hills around the lake or hikes through the flowering landscapes of Monte Baldo; Or simply spend a relaxing day in one of the many thermal baths in the area. Not to be missed is the large offer for all golf lovers: around the villa and within only a few minutes by car there are 8 golf courses. The caretaker of the villa lives in a separate building within the park.

This beautiful villa is made from brick or stone and was originally built in 1963 and refurbished in 2015. The agent has rated it as a five star property so it is one of their best villas - tastefully furnished and fully equipped. It is also great value for money. This villa has a swimming pool and is located in Arbizzano-Santa Maria, only 8km from Verona. It is set in a good location: there is a restaurant 1km away.

Directions and details on how to collect the keys will be emailed to you after you have paid for the booking in full. You will receive full details about your booking including directions to the property and a booking voucher that you need to hand over to the property manager when you receive the keys. In some instances you may need to collect the keys from the property manager’s office or some other location which is not the actual property you have booked to stay in. Please note that the agent provides us with the GPS co-ordinates in the travel directions and we communicate these to you; you should contact the property manager if these are unclear.

The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.

If a property has an annexe then it will typically be a building attached to the main property or a small self-contained building. Annexes often have no central heating.

Please note that bedrooms in holiday rentals are usually not that large; you should refer to the floor plan to get a sense of size.

You will need to pay for the energy and water you use during your stay of which electricity is usually the most significant cost. Charges can be based on a fixed per day rate or by the amount of energy used (e.g. kilowatt hours for electricity).
