Overview

On the peaceful grounds surrounding historic Croan House, is a little cluster of five charming, traditional style modern cottages. The cottages are set around a courtyard and approached by a drive of lime trees. Adjacent to the property is a Forest Park with a number of trails and walks.

Beautifully decorated and fitted out
Very comfortably furnished, the cottages enjoy a delightfully relaxing ambience, enhanced by grazing goats, hens, rare breed pigs and geese in the grounds. The cottages contain all mod cons and have a private patio and barbeque area and an open fire for cosy evenings in.

Plenty to see and do nearby
The local area is rich in places of interest such as picturesque small villages, abbeys and a craft trail of fascinating workshops including glass blowing, pottery and leather goods. Waterford, with its developing port and famous glass factory and visitor centre, is 20 miles, whilst the medieval town of Kilkenny's ancient castle, cathedral, Black Abbey (and over 70 pubs) are 15 miles. This wonderful walking country also offers cruises and fishing on a network of fine rivers and canals once worked by barges, as well as superb golf (Mount Juliet 7 miles) and riding. Dublin is 1½ hours by car or train, Rosslare ferryport is 58 miles, Waterford Airport 25 miles.

Stayed at Croan end Sept 2011. A lovely peaceful place, easy to find and a warm welcome by lovely owners. Marvellous indoor and outdoor spaces, fantastic animals to watch/pet, fresh fruit and veg [organic] left out for guests every day. Plenty of choice of days out. Great music venues such as Kytelers Inn in Kilkenny City easy to get to. Fab scenery, lovely walks and climbs, lovely lovely people. Bodhran workshop and Raglan Rogues Duo at Kytelers Inn highly recommended. [seasonal] Highly recommended. THANKS Villarenters and Frances & Niamh.

Thank you for your hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, your place is so peaceful. We will be back!
The cottage was beautiful and very comfortable and we loved the forest walks. We will miss Bella (the dog) and the rest of the animals - at least until we come back next time!
Had a lovely time – very relaxing and comfortable. The surrounding area is beautiful and Croan Cottages are an ideal base from which to explore. Croan House is beautiful, the animals are charming and the food you prepared for us was amazing! Would love to return in the future.
