Family from Durham , United Kingdom Aug 2018

We are a family of four with two 9 year olds. We absolutely loved staying in Mount Cashel Lodge 2 and would definitely love to go back. The location is very peaceful and great for children. The owners, Pat and Annette, were very welcoming and our children became best friends with their lovely dogs. The properties look over a small lake (with an original Crannog) and guests have full access to the equipment in the boathouse. We took the larger boat out on the lake with the whole family but there are also individual canoes.
The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. We put on the stove every evening and used the plentiful turf supply in the shed beside our property. The location is very handy to many sightseeing options. In our short stay, we chose to visit Craggaunowen, the Aliwee Cave and Birds of Prey Experience and the Burren Discovery Centre. Overall, it was a wonderful short break.

Beautiful property that we rented while filming a project. So nice to come back to a warm and comfortable place at the end of a long day. I highly recommend this place for any occasion. The owners are wonderful and extremely helpful.

OMG! I died and went to heaven! After almost 2 weeks of traveling throughout Ireland we landed at Mt. Cashel Lodge #2 for 3 nights. We basically chose it because of it's proximity to Shannon Airport where we were departing from. By far it was the best stay we had in Ireland. It is rural and peaceful though close to Bunratty, where there is a lot of history and activity. Yes, yes, yes, we recommend Mt. Cashel. We'll be back.

I can not say enough about this little slice of Heaven. By far the best part of our 2 weeks in Ireland. Pat and Anette are the consummate hosts and we are so glad to have shared their lovely Lodge. Stayed with a family of 5 and were saved on the road by Pat before we even arrived. The rest of our stay was magical. A beautiful Lodging. Comfortable, clean and very relaxing. We enjoyed the property and the regular visits from the property dogs and chickens. My children want to go back ASAP. Thank you so much for making our stay special and personal. All the best from Canada.

Our family (four adults) spent a wonderful and most memorable week in "The Stables" at Mt. Cashel Lodge. Our accommodations were great--everything you could want was provided: clean; beautifully decorated; complete privacy and relaxation. Day trips to Limerick, Galway, Bunratty, the Burrens, Cliffs of Moher, Ennis, etc. were easy. We found wonderful restaurants, castles, Alwee Cave;, shopping. This property is a treasure. We would offer our highest recommendation and thank the Shanahans for the very special memories and a fabulous week. Jane, Gary, Alexis and Jack

This 2 bedroom lakefront cottage restored from a coach house on a lovely estate was clean, well kept, charming, with spectacular views of the lake and hillside beyond. It was quiet, with excellent internet access, television, washer dryer, kitchen. Milk, butter, bread, tea, sugar, orange juice staples in the kitchen made our first morning simple and relaxed. A local guide made by our hosts was perfect for choosing activities and restaurants. CDs of Irish music in the bookcase went with us on our car trips. The nearby town of Sixmilebridge is quaint, and the surrounding area is full of castles, scenery, and interesting towns. We hope to return, with more time for simply being in the cottage.

"Mt Cashel is a little piece of paradise in Ireland. The accomadations were clean, well appointed and offered every convience. The location was great for using as a hub for day trips. Pat and Annette were the perfect hosts, available but non-intrusive. Even the family pets added to the enjoyment of our stay. A mother cat and her 4 new kittens were our next door neighbors, residing in the carrage house. After returning from a day of sight-seeing, we would be met by Max, the family Springer Spaniel, waiting for us on the doorstep. From our bedroom window, we had a picture post card view of the lake and the Famine Village ruins. We were invited to harvest fresh vegetables from their cottage garden and enjoyed the most beautiful lettace and broccoli ever. Mt Cashel "made" the trip!"

"Excellent spacious accomodation with high quality furnishings. Delightfully peaceful location overlooking private lake, but still only 20 minutes from Limerick / Ennis / Shannon Airport. An excellent choice if you want to get away from it all. Really highly recommended - if we visit the area again, this will be where we stay."
