Villa overview - owner's description

Having stayed here we know with certainty that the exceptional view of the mountains and the valleys will relax your soul and the green scenery will be a sight for sore eyes.

Villa Claire is situated on the hill between the village of Benitses and the historic greek village of Gastouri. The private gardens are our pride and we try always to keep them immaculately maintened. The driveway is gated and the gardens all fenced and secure.
The villa is exceptionally spacious, stylishly furnished and has rather a quirky design. The ground floor is built on several levels. There is a large entrance area, a comfortable sitting room with corner sofa, fireplace & wall mounted TV. Open-plan to the living area is a modern kitchen full equipped with breakfast table for 6. On this level there is also the main bathroom which is enormous with corner bath, big wardrobes, a washing machine. On a higher level is a second big dining area and a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Both of these rooms have direct access to the large yard of the house. Two further bedrooms can be found on the first floor, both of which are accessed by their own spiral staircase. On your left there is a Master Bedroom with King-size bed, en-suite shower room and balcony with wonderful views to the garden and on your right a second bedroom with Queen- size bed and a balcony with views over the valley. All the rooms have big wardrobes and many windows.
This house is perfect for a family holiday set on the hill in beautiful gardens, in a peaceful rural area. From here you can start to explore the South part of Corfu island with its wonderful beaches or you can drive to Corfu town in 10 minutes and visit the historical centre. The village of Benitses is only a 5 minutes drive down where you will find the nearest beach, many traditional & International restaurants and cafe bars. Gastouri village on the other side is a corfiot traditional village with narrow streets is only a few hundred metres down the hill. There you can find the famous Achilleion Palace. In the centre of the village you can also find Hectoru's Bakery, famous for it's village bread which has been baked at Hectorus Bakery for more than one hundred years. For a traditional meal you can visit Spiro's taverna called "to pouli tsi kota's" with many greek and corfiot traditional meals. There Spiro's and his wife offer you their best (including Spiro's singing !!!!)

xlauracouzensx Woking, United Kingdom Left on Jan 16, 2018 for a stay in Sep 2017 "Stunning villa in a beautiful location" It was my first time visiting Corfu with my family and it did not disappoint! The Villa is absolutely stunning set in a very quiet village it is perfect to unwind and relax. You do need to hire a car to stay here as it is not in walking distance of any shops but you can walk to the local restaurant in the village. The weather was brilliant although we did have 1 day where it rained but that was to be expected at the end of September. There are lots of places to visit all within a small drive away with lots of stunning beaches (thank god for google maps though! The Corfu roads are very narrow with lots of steep sharp bends) I would highly recommend visiting Palaiokastritsa the water is crystal clear you can do lots of snorkeling and there is a nice restaurant overlooking the water to have lunch. Niki who owns the villa popped in a few days after we arrived to check we had settled in okay. She was super friendly and recommend some good places to eat. I would definitely use this villa again.

Due to the range in ages in our party we drove into the village but it is walkable if you're fit and healthy. We drove into Benitses most evenings to eat as there was a good selection of restaurants. Achilleon Palace is only a few minutes drive away and is well worth a visit. The owners Niki and Manthos were excellent in looking after us and available if any questions arose. Jane at Prestige Villas made the villa and car hire booking nice and easy. It was good to know they were easily contactable if required. The only down side to us was that probably due to the time of year there were wasps about which if you ignored them they sort of ignored you. On the whole we had a great holiday and would recommend to others.

Reviewed by: Michael Templeman, Hants, UK Reviewed: August 2017 Date of stay: August 2017 'A Great Choice' Villa Claire was a great choice for our family holiday, as a party of 6 (4 adults & 2 children) the accommodation was perfect with extensive gardens and a lovely pool. The villa is just outside Gastouri village away from everyone but still only 5 minutes by car to Benitses which is lovely family resort with many bars and restaurants to choose from overlooking the sea. The villa location is great for accessing other beaches on the Island, shingle nearby and 20 minutes to nearest sandy beach on the west coast, plus the airport and Corfu Town. . Prestige Villas were very helpful and efficient in terms of booking the villa and organising car hire and reception at the airport. The instructions to the villa were very clear, necessary in view of some of the local narrow roads

misseacox Bradford, United Kingdom Left on Jan 16, 2018 for a stay in Jul 2017 A perfect hide away in the hills Villa Claire is the perfect retreat. It’s secluded yet only ten minutes drive to shops and restaurants of the towns. The villa is really well equipped and comfortable. We loved relaxing by the pool, in the well maintained gardens and having tasty barbecues. Just lovely. We want to go back and highly recommend this beautiful villa to others

Elizabeth K Left on Jan 16, 2018 for a stay in Jun 2017 Such an incredible stay at this amazing villa! This house has it all and it was the perfect keystone for an amazing trip to Corfu. Where do I start!? 1. The house is gorgeous and so much fun for everyone! They have a gorgeous outdoor kitchen where me and my housemates had incredible dinners outside while watching the sunset over the valley below (beautiful view!) The pool is clean and a great size for tons of fun. Our bedrooms were all fantastic, no one got stuck with "the bad room" since they were all great. I particularly loved mine as it had a balcony with an incredible view. There is a massive bathroom on the first floor with an amazing jacuzzi tub. 2. Niki was an incredible host. She went far above and beyond to make our stay easy and wonderful. She gave us tons of advice and was always very easy to reach. 3. The location was incredible. The villa sits tucked into a gorgeous landscape on top of a mountain for a beautiful view. The ride back down the mountain on either side is quick and easy so you don't feel far from anything! One side is the beach and the other is a grocery store AND our favorite Greek restaurant in all of Corfu is a short walk a little ways down the hill with the most delicious greek food we had there and the best, most authentic, atmosphere we experienced. The owner is a gem who loves to entertain while his wife is a magician with food. They pretty much make everything from scratch (they even make their own wine and olive oil!) 4. The beaches near by are incredible. We took a boat out for the day for next to nothing and found a private beach to park up and spend the day in the crystal clear water. I typically am not one to stay in one place twice, but we will definitely be going back here some day!! (Thank you so much Niki for everything!!)

Reviewed by: Jade B, London, UK Reviewed: July 2017 Date of stay: June 2017 'Beautiful Well Kept Villa, Really Unspoilt Area & Peaceful' The Villa and garden and surroundings are stunning, when we pulled in to the driveway we were amazed at all the space! The garden is well kept and so is the pool. You can walk in to gastouri, it's about 15-20mins and you can walk to benitses which is maybe 25mins. Much easier to get a car although it is a lovely walk in the day, it's quite remote so it's not lit at night. We were a group of 6 and there was a sunbed each and enough toilets and showers. I think the drainage isn't the best in the remote areas and the toilets/ showers/ bathrooms had a pretty bad smell. Despite this I would definitely come back to villa Claire, the lovely cicada's in the evening were blissful and the bistro in Gastouri with its amazing owners were so welcoming and fun and the food is amazing! We did a couple of BBQs, there were no coals so we had to get more. Also no basics like salt and pepper and the wifi code was wrong but niki was on hand to call or pop down and bring us what we needed! Her and her husband were very attentive and helpful and always available. I would recommend villa Claire for its location too, it's out of the way but still close enough to a beach and town and a great location on the island to be able to drive easily to all areas and coastlines without spending too long in the car. Such a gorgeous place with very fond memories! Thank you

Reviewed by: David Canning, UK Reviewed: October 2016 Date of stay: September 2016 'Beautiful Villa in Secluded Location' Villa Clare is situated in Beautiful surrounding midway between the coastal resort of Benitses with it's many Bars & restaurants & the sleepy village of Gastouri. The villa has everything you need from pool to large TV 's & fabulous bath. A car is essential due to Villa location. We stayed as a couple who enjoy walking & therefore walked to either Benitses or Gastouri on a daily basis. It's about 20 mins each way, be warned though the walk back from Benitses is all uphill & is a challenge ! Locally in Gastouri is the Achilleon palace which is worth a visit with a couple of Tavernas that only open during the day with spectacular views across the bays The Villa owners Nikki & Manthos are lovely people who go out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful stay. If you like peace & quiet away from all the noise then this is the ideal place. We had one of our best holidays in many years & love Corfu with so much to see. Recommended.

Reviewed by: Jo Spencer, UK Reviewed: September 2016 Date of stay: July 2016 'Wonderfully Situated Villa' This villa is wonderfully situated at the end of the pretty, historic village of Gastouri. Complete peace and quiet among olive trees, and beautiful views from high across the valley towards the sea and Corfu Town. The house is spacious and has a lovely living area, balcony and great bathroom with large corner bath. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there's a second oven outside in the very good large barbecue and grill area with outside furniture. The real feature of the house is its beautiful landscaped grounds with grass, stone paths and pool. A lovely hideaway and yet close to beaches, shops and Corfu Town
