PASIPHAE ART COUNTRY HOUSE, ANATOLI, IERAPETRA

Overview

THE HOUSE is a comfortable country mansion of 185 m2, enclosing a 60m2 courtyard with a 100m2 top terrace. The house has been restored with exquisite details and is furnished with selected pieces from Neoclassical Greece and paintings of well known contemporary Greek artists.
All rooms open either to the courtyard or the terrace and capture views of the sea (except of the smallest double bedroom). It can accommodate 8 persons, since it has 5 main rooms, three of which are double bedrooms, a sitting room with fireplace, a dinning room with two couch-beds, a spacious kitchen, and 2 bathrooms.
It can function as a spacious, unique house for a demanding family or for two families or friendly couples, as the bedrooms accompanied by own bathrooms are laid at the ends of the house with communal areas in between:
THE VILLAGE OF ANATOLI a very old settlement from Venetian times, has kept its historic character and is being rapidly renovated as a unique vacation resort. Surrounded by wild countryside, gigantic rock formations and natural spring waters, has been famous from past times for its healthy, dry climate. The location is ideal, offering commanding views to the Libyan Sea and easy access to the sea.
SWIMMING: Sandy beaches extend either to the northeast (the gulf of Mirabello), or to the southeast (Libyan Sea). At Kalo Chorio (ancient site “Istron”) are found two of the most famous beaches of Crete with azure waters, “Voulisma” and “Agios Panteleymon”, while east of Ierapetra extend kilometers of sandy beaches and small sea gulfs, among which the best are Agia Galini (next is Kakkos Bay Hotel, laid out in another beautiful gulf and open to the public), Agia Fotia, Ferma, Koutsounari etc. On the other side of Ierapetra the village of Myrtos offers also a beautiful, sandy beach.

The villa description suggested that there would be a plunge pool/jaccusi - this was non-existant. However, this did not detract from the overall ambiance of the villa. For two couples this was an ideal location. The views were magnificent and being able to sit on one of the five terraces at ones leisure was just amazing with an 1800ft dro p to the coastal plain. The facilities provided were adequate but more comfortable outdoor furniture would have been really nice. The villa is provided with furniture in keeping with the villa owners perception of how she wanted the accomodation presented. This would not have been our choice but never-the-less this did not distract. One aspect of the location was the peace! Another was having to get involved with the local populace especially if you did not want a 25 minute drive to find more up-market eating establisments other than the two local tavernas. At both of these we were made very warmly welcome but they are not open every night! The food however was first class - if simply presented but extremely limited in choice. Would definitely consider using the same location again.
Dear Mrs Dorovinis Thank you for an unforgettable experience of staying in Pasiphae House. You have created a unique place here! We loved the views, the cool air, the beauty of Anatoli village and the innumerable nice details of the house. We came to see the hometown of Emine’s parents who left for Turkey in 1924. It has been a very special trip… Myrtos road (lovely but a bit of a challenge in a 9-seat van) and Napoleon restaurant, our kids loved all of it too. We wish you best of luck with your future projects in Anatoli and elsewhere-surely it will be very successful EMINE and SELAHATIN ATAKHAN-TURKEY SELDA ATAKHAN TEKIN and BRILENT TEKIN – MOSKOW RUSSIA MELDA ATAKHAN KENNEWEG and MARTIN KENNEWEG –Cologne, Germany

With its wonderful views over Irapetra and the Libyan Sea this property proved a beautiful setting and an excellent centre for our Cretian holiday. The drive through the mountains each day was spectacular and the seaside village of Mitos just a few kilometers away is a wonderful place to relax on the beach and swim. The property is furnished to a high standard and is kept spotlessly clean and although the village of Anatoli has limited facilities, and is probably all the better for that, supermarkets and shops are just a short drive away. We will certainly be going back again.
September 2, 2006What a wonderful place to stay. We had a terrific vacation and enjoyed the house thoroughly. Thank you also for your suggestions to go to Lato and Kritsa and to visit the church frescoes. They were particularly beautiful. Our girls will also have fond memories of the beaches and the village of Anatoli.BestBrette Pepper and Paul Spraos, USA
