Hier kunt u zowel een ontspannende als een actieve vakantie in het zuidelijke Thüringer Woud beleven. In de zomer is de Rennsteig is een populaire fietsroute in Brotterode. Adranline wordt gegarandeerd in het leuke klimbos in Tabarz. Het Funpark Inselberg biedt een rodelbaan en andere attracties. Ervaar Bad Salzungen en het tabak- en horlogemuseum in Ruhla en breng een bezoek aan Eisenach, Erfurt, Weimar, Gotha, Meiningen en Schmalkalden. Aanbevolen zijn ook de begeleide wandelingen op de dinosaurus pad naar Lohmühle: Een ervaren GeoPark gids neemt u mee door vooraf reserveren op een interessante reis naar het verleden. De historische kuuroord in Bad Liebenstein wacht met Kneipp-faciliteit, spa kamers, geneeskrachtig water en Kurtheater.
