Apartment overview - owner's description

This cosy apartment is located in a small village in Putbus and is situated in a quiet and rural area. This apartment is on the first floor of the owner's house and is accessible via a staircase. There is a children's play area on the plot as well as a cosy corner where you can relax. Since DMR296 is also located in the same house, this holiday accommodation is also ideal for two families who like to travel together, but also value their privacy. In the town of Bergen, located 10 km away, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the island from the observation tower in Rugard, a 91 metre high wooded viewing platform. In the evening you can have a nice dinner and then watch a movie. The town of Putbus is located even closer. White painted houses and rose bushes adorn the city which also houses Pirate Island, a popular indoor playground for children. In summer, many events are organised, such as the sailing and harbour festival in July and the Putbus Festival in May, which attract visitors from around the country. A ride on the narrow-gauge railway, the 'Racing Roland' that connects Göhren and Putbus, the most famous seaside resort in the south-east of the island, is a special experience. Various boat trips in the Rügischen Bodden are offered in summer starting from the former fishing village of Lauterbach, which today forms part of the city. In 2010, the Upside-Down House was erected on the road to Lauterbach as a tourist attraction. Stroll down the August-Bebel-Straße and admire the large number of craftsmen's houses which have been there from the time the city was founded. You can also take a stroll in the palace gardens. The castle itself is no longer there but you can only see its outline amid the greenery. The Orangerie in the park forms the backdrop for the artistic exhibition centre of Rügen and the original stable now functions as a theatre. In addition to a mausoleum and a castle church, the bird and the monkey house are still preserved on the premises. The ape house now houses the Rügen Doll and Toy Museum. There are also guided tours of the park, where you can learn about the exciting history of the former castle and much more. The fresh sea air of Rügen is refreshing and rejuvenating. Let the Baltic breeze caress your face while you explore the scenic and structural diversity of Rügen. The extensive sandy beaches, the charming fishing villages, lagoons, bays, lakes and forests add to the beauty of the island. Admire the architecture of the beautiful seaside resorts or take day trips to the national parks of the island. In addition to peace lovers, this place has a lot in store for sports enthusiasts as well. Some of the activities include tennis, golfing, sailing, wind and kite surfing, cycling tours, Nordic walking and hiking on marked trails that take you through a diverse natural landscape. A great treat also awaits keen anglers. Those who feel comfortable in the saddle can ride around the island or along the beach. The miniature theme park in Gingst is highly suitable for a family outing. In addition, the Dinosaur Land in Glowe, the climbing forest in the mountains and Waldseilpark in Altefähr will find favour with young and old alike.

Frequently asked questions

Directions and details on how to collect the keys will be emailed to you after you have paid for the booking in full. You will receive full details about your booking including directions to the property and a booking voucher that you need to hand over to the property manager when you receive the keys. In some instances you may need to collect the keys from the property manager’s office or some other location which is not the actual property you have booked to stay in. Please note that the agent provides us with the GPS co-ordinates in the travel directions and we communicate these to you; you should contact the property manager if these are unclear.

The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.

If a property has an annexe then it will typically be a building attached to the main property or a small self-contained building. Annexes often have no central heating.

Please note that bedrooms in holiday rentals are usually not that large; you should refer to the floor plan to get a sense of size.

If you select any optional extras as part of your booking then you will need to confirm details with the local property manager after the booking has been fully paid. You will receive the property manager’s contact details (phone number and/or email address) after you have paid for the booking and you should contact him or her to confirm details. If you cannot get hold of the property manager then please contact the Clickstay support team for further assistance.

Please note: you do not need to contact the property manager about any compulsory extras such as final cleaning (i.e. cleaning upon departure).
