House overview - owner's description
This luxurious, semi-detached duplex home called Altair is located in the Baltic Sea Resort of Olpenitz. Surrounded by water, this home stands between the mouth of the Schlei Bay and the marina on a narrow peninsula. The light-filled living area with ceiling-high windows is on the ground floor of this non-smoking home and offers a grand view of the water. Also the terrace offers a terrific view of the waves and the sail boats. Make yourselves comfortable on the huge sofa in front of the crackling fire of the fireplace, which provides a unique atmosphere in cooler seasons, especially when there is a storm around the house. The kitchen is open and is perfectly integrated with the living room. Also enjoy a view overlooking the water from the huge windows on the top floor. In the modern bathroom, there is a hot tub and a private sauna cabinet, which constitutes your own spa paradise. A staircase leads from the balcony to the fantastic roof terrace that is 30 square metres and offers a perfect, panoramic view. The Baltic Sea, the mouth of the Schlei Bay, the harbour area of the marina and the nature reserve are all reachable from here by walking. On clearer days, you can enjoy a view of Denmark from here. There is a small cove with a sandy beach for swimming in the Baltic Sea Resort of Olpenitz. The kilometres-long sandy beach guarded by DLRG that stretches till Schönhagen is also located nearby. As the pricing is very flexible, this resort is ideal for any kind of holiday, such as, a spontaneous short trip, a long weekend, long, relaxing summer holiday or just a break in quieter seasons, especially when the Baltic Sea beaches offer a lot of space and the homes become very cosy. Daily arrival and departure is possible all year round! Short stays available, minimum 2 nights onwards! Prices depend on the day of arrival and duration of stay. - Abbreviations: O = Overnight, WP = Week Price. - 2 O– Check in Saturday: 40% of WP; Check in Sunday-Thursday: 30% of WP; Check in Friday: 45% of the WP. - 3 O–Check inSaturday: 47% of WP; Check in Sunday-Wednesday: 45% of WP; Check in Thursday / Friday: 55% of WP. - 4 O–Check in Saturday-Wednesday: 60% of WP; Check in Thursday /Friday: 65% of WP. - 5 O- Check in Saturday-Friday: 75% of WP. Restaurants and cafes are not available and most of the access roads are not connected yet to the main routes. The direct view of the Baltic Sea is naturally pristine, wonderful and priceless, but some of the spots (towards the mainland and over the Schlei) lack the view as the property is still under construction. The area near the house is also under construction and the property includes a parking place that is available temporarily. Children must be carefully supervised due to the ongoing construction activities. Rental price is calculated based on the construction stage. Other discounts are excluded. Frequently asked questions
When do I receive directions to the house and key collection information?
Directions and details on how to collect the keys will be emailed to you after you have paid for the booking in full. You will receive full details about your booking including directions to the property and a booking voucher that you need to hand over to the property manager when you receive the keys. In some instances you may need to collect the keys from the property manager’s office or some other location which is not the actual property you have booked to stay in. Please note that the agent provides us with the GPS co-ordinates in the travel directions and we communicate these to you; you should contact the property manager if these are unclear.
Bed sizes / bedrooms
The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:
- A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
- A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
- A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.
A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.
Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.
If a property has an annexe then it will typically be a building attached to the main property or a small self-contained building. Annexes often have no central heating.
Please note that bedrooms in holiday rentals are usually not that large; you should refer to the floor plan to get a sense of size.
Quality rating: five stars. This is the agent’s highest rating and this property should be tastefully furnished and full equipped.
What do you mean by prepayment of consumption cost for electricity, gas, water etc.?
You will be charged for the amount of electricity, water, gas and other utilities that you use – the local agent will perform the relevant meter readings upon your arrival and when you depart. However you will need to prepay a deposit of €25.00 per night on arrival. If your usage costs less than the amount you have prepaid then you will get a refund when you depart; however if you have used more than you have prepaid then you will be asked to pay the balance.
