The spacious holiday apartment is located in Villard-de-Lans in the French Alps, about 30 km to the south-west of Grenoble. From here, there is a bus connection to the TGV in Grenoble. The town of Grenoble is certainly worth a visit, with the Bastille and a number of historic fortifications offering wonderful views of the town and the surrounding mountains. In Grenoble, you will also find a car museum. The idyllic mountain village of Villard-de-Lans, in the nature reserve of Parc Naturel Regional du Vercors, is a versatile destination both in summer and in winter. The endless opportunities for hiking, mountain sports (climbing, parasailing and cave descent), mountain biking and skiing that you will find in the surroundings of this cosy place will guarantee you a successful holiday all year round. As the home base of the French cross-country team, the nearby Autrans offers the first artificial snow trails in France. The ski area of Espace Nordique du Haut Vercors offers over 100 km of trails in both flat and the hilly nature. And in the surroundings there are more than 300 kilometers of trails, in Autrans with the ski lift La Sure as a starting point in about 1600 m height! Furthermore, the ski area of 125 km of downhill slopes is assured of snow until Easter, due to 260 snow cannons. For example, you can go skiing in the ski area of Vercors with an altitude of 2050 m. Here you'll find 30 km of slopes and 14 ski lifts. There is also a fun park for snowboarders. The ski area is connected with the area Corrençon-en-Vercors, where you will find even more well-groomed slopes. In the village itself and at the ski lifts, there are a total of five ski rentals. Also nearby, there is the unique children's ski paradise La Coline with snow cannons and the large model railway exhibition Villard Express. 300 meters from your apartment you will find 2 swimming pools, including a wave pool. In Villard you will also find an ice rink (open all year), tennis courts (partly covered), a summer toboggan run, a cinema with two halls and lively streets with cosy restaurants for a relaxing evening in friendly company. At only two minutes walk from the historic village centre and the pedestrian shopping zone you occupy the ground floor of an old town farm from 1850, which has been converted into two spacious apartments. Your holiday home features a large sun terrace and a garage, which you can use to store your skis or bikes or park a small car. Furthermore, you also have a private parking, free Wi-Fi and a small selection of (about 40) video movies at your disposal. In short, everything necessary for a relaxing holiday is provided.

You will receive full details about your booking including directions to the property and a booking voucher that you need to hand over to the property manager when you receive the keys. In some instances you may need to collect the keys from the property manager’s office or some other location which is not the actual property you have booked to stay in. Please note that the agent provides us with the GPS co-ordinates in the travel directions and we communicate these to you; you should contact the property manager if these are unclear.

The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.

If a property has an annexe then it will typically be a building attached to the main property or a small self-contained building. Annexes often have no central heating.

Please note that bedrooms in holiday rentals are usually not that large; you should refer to the floor plan to get a sense of size.
