House overview - owner's description

Lovers of peace and quiet, and nature will be delighted with this holiday home near Saint-Caprais. Your house is in a large forest clearing, where it is nice to go for a walk. The thick walls of the living room date from 1663 (with a period fireplace), guaranteeing the house this atmosphere of yesteryear, while adding a touch of modernity. In the middle of two garden sheds is an enclosed garden where a large lime tree brings shade.

The region is full of things to do. The Zadkine Museum is 10km away, in the village of Les Arques. The house straddles the departments of Dordogne and Lot. The Dordogne valley, with its castles and medieval towns is unmissable. The same, however, can be said of the towns of Lot, such as Besse (13km) and Puy-l'-Evêque (18km). The Cazals (9km) and Prats-du-Périgord (16km) lakes will enable you to refresh by taking a dip.

It goes without saying you will not be able to avoid a nice glass of French wine. Here you are a few kilometres from the Cahors vineyard which is full of castles where you can taste a good vintage while visiting the estate. The well-known wine town of Cahors (38km) is not to be missed, as well as a visit to Bonaguil (25km) and Gourdon (29km) Castles.

NB: The owner of the house will not make you pay for the electricity up to 11.43KWh per night. Beyond this limit, the amount will be at your expense.

We were here for the third time. That must say enough. Nice house, nice for us and the dogs. Excellent welcome with basket of things for a good meal, bottle of wine and flowers.

DE GROOF Jul 2019

Good reception by the owners. We were warmly welcomed with a basket full of vegetables. The house is equipped with all conveniences, from iron to a good stove in a fitted kitchen. It is an old house (at least from 1662) with thick walls (amazingly fresh with a heat wave) with a beautiful old fireplace and a stone stove (from that time), but also with its limitations (sometimes odor nuisance during a drought). Beautiful surroundings. Ideal for nature lovers.

beautifully situated farm. Lots of privacy, private land and forests and hiking trails. Beautiful environment with castles and forests. Very friendly reception.

For us the house was a big dream! if we win the Jackpot we would immediately buy it! On arrival we were very warmly received by Annie.Bij entry there was a nice bottle of wine, freshly baked apple pie and a bottle of fruit juice for us .... we felt more than welcome! We were given a tour of the house and then the holiday could begin .... What have we enjoyed the peace, the beautiful surroundings, the villages in the neighborhood and especially the cozy house with all its lizards and mega garden with forest. Our greyhounds have been able to romp because there was plenty of room to be able to sprint and play.We had a fantastic holiday and will definitely come back! At our departure we were warmly waved by Annie, her husband Jean-Louis and their granddaughter .. .. what a lovely people! A warm greeting from Danny and Manita from Maastricht

Welcome by warm owners who had made cake and wine in the house themselves. For us it was a small wrinkle that the owners only speak French and that is difficult in a telephone conversation.

Arrival with friendly welcome by the almost whole family, fresh flowers, vegetables from our own garden and a nice bottle of wine and fruit juice so I can not believe that better. The accommodation is spacious with plenty of storage space, the finish may be better and I am sorry to find beautiful new kitchen but the cabinet doors are not neatly put the oven is not neatly built, that is not good for the life of the beautiful kitchen and the sink may be slightly higher, the electricity must be checked for regular checking. It was probably the reason why I was looking for the fact that I had a lot of bad luck with the weather and it was cold and I had to set up all the heating to to be able to warm me up In addition, you have a garden that is endless and fantastic for my 2 dogs who have had the time of their lives to explore and guard their domain. In the evening there are rays in the plain to eat the forests around are blessed to walking you get few people with many birds, straws, sheep with guard, ... The immediate surroundings are also great for walking and visiting churches and the like. The tourist office of Cazals is very good for information and walks and to get tickets to pay attention, there are so many walks in this area that you can not just follow the yellow dashes. You really need to read text otherwise you can walk in another walk and it can be quite long (28km)

Upon arrival we were enthusiastically welcomed by the owner and her husband. We were spoiled for wine and a regional pie. Good practical information helped us to get home quickly and lose time in groceries. Beautiful surroundings for rest seekers and for nature lovers. Yes, the cities (Cahor, Sarlat ...) are a little further but really worth it. Great accommodation, unfortunate that the oven did not work anymore but the owner immediately got a new electric oven. They are very willing. Had a nice holiday. For Wi-Fi or internet connection you must go to Villefranche.

Very nice location with stunning views. Nice house with all ground floor. Very nice landlady the cake, bottle of wine and flowers had finished.

beautifully situated part of large farm. Lots of space and privacy. Suitable for couples or families with small children who love hiking and nature .Not for people that have shackled the smartphone in their hand. No wifi. Delicious!

A very charming restored farmhouse, very smart. The cottage also had an extra house where children could only play to their heart. A very pleasant reception with a nice surprise from the garden of the owner. A huge recommendation!

We were on arrival very friendly welcome by the owner. In addition to a bottle of wine and a basket of freshly picked vegetables from their garden, beds, we were given a warm rondleiding. We have had a brilliant time. It is truly a place for tranquility, nature lovers, hikers and cyclists .... The deer actually come right out the back door, you walk between the foxes and wild boar, not to mention the elegant falcons. The cabin itself is fully equipped right. The kitchen is really well equipped. Everything is available. The living room is cozy and authentic elements were included in the renovation. Major asset is their garden with a wonderful lime tree. Always shade available and yet many place where there is sun. The beds are good although they are short and narrow. Since the owners renovate all home renovation is slow. You notice an adjacent shed that dilapidated state. Attention to children playing. Overall a place to come back ... we have already homesick now.

Pleasant and calm had week. During that week three times, at a distance, hearing a car passing by and one rider.

We have already received very welcoming on arrival by the owners, who had taken care of flowers, a bottle of wine and several homegrown vegetables. What we enjoyed this wonderful house, a beautiful farmhouse in the middle of nature, and the views, space and tranquility! The area is perfect for making (long) walks. We had lots of fun taking part of the Octopus Travel map of the area. In short: an ideal place!

H.C.M. Van Leur Jul 2014

It is a fan-tas-tic! It is very secluded, with lots of "own" land (grassland, forest) surrounding it. The house itself is attractively furnished, spacious and equipped with all modern comforts, including a washing machine, a dishwasher, a microwave and a large electric stove. In accessible distance Amongst others, the medieval Gourdon, Sarlat and Cahors. An absolute must for those seeking tranquility!

Nice time in this beautiful house with nice atmosphere! Former farmhouse with lots of space inside and around the house. Perfect for kids. Overlooking a large lawn, behind a forest. You can spend the day soaking up the sun. Nearest other houses on 1 or 2 kilometers, you see, and no one hears so much privacy but also alone. Comfortable house and equipped. Top kitchen, great douce, spacious living room with fireplace, bed was a bit hard.
