There really is something for everyone in this beautiful part of Brittany that the Bretons call "the land where the mountains meet the sea". The coastline of the Crozon Peninsula is one of the most beautiful, with pine clad cliffs, white sand and turquoise water which give it, in places an almost meditteranean feel.

Dotted with small bays and interspersed with wide sandy beaches and friendly little ports - the choice is yours. The little town of Morgat has a marina and a selection of little restaurants and bars. From here there is a stunning cliff top walk to the Cap de la Chevre (Goats head), which is highly recommended for the energetic.

In fact the whole of the Crozon Peninsula is worth visiting with the Pointe des Espagnols, with views across the Rade de Brest, to the port of Brest itself and the windswept Pointe de Penhir, particularly worth seeing.

Inland you can explore the Black Mountains by foot, car or bike, or closer to home, the Parc Regionale dArmorique. Drive or walk up the Menez Hom for views over the peninsula. Steeped in legend, this area is dotted with mystic alignments of standing stones and other prehistoric remains.

The historic and picturesque town of Quimper on the river Oder offers a good choice of shops, restaurants.

The large bustling seaside resort of Douarnenez and the little port of Audierne where you can visit the magnificent Pointe de Raz jutting into the atlantic or take a boat trip to the Isle de Sein.

The Bretons show their traditions in the fest noz which are plentiful during the summer.

For our family of seven young children age 4-13 the house was in an excellent location-with great choices of different beaches for swimming and exploring within very short distance. The village Pentrez, small as it was catered for every basic need from wifi-(2 bars) to organic veg market most mornings. The bars had all the basic stuff, bread, butter and even toilet paper! Wifi was free as long as you bought a tea or coffee or drink. Close enough to Quimper where there was lots of outdoor activities and some excellent swimming pools. generall the location was very good for most activities for a family. The house was spacious, private and safe with lots of videos to keep kids and adults occupied for rainy days. On the negative side a couple of sticky doors, drawers etc. But nothing serious. Very charming and the process of booking and dealing by email with the owner was just excellent, easy and uncomplicated. Very relaxing and a wonderful charming location, quiet and yet central, with everything adjacent maximum one hours drive to major towns.

My party of seven required five bedrooms and the house easily met our needs. The bedrooms were spacious, most with great views over the magnificent Pentrez beach. We particularly enjoyed, and made great use of, the large kitchen, dining and living area on the bottom floor. The weather during our stay was generally poor (in August) but the space provided by the house went a long way to get round that. We made little use of the garden, which is quite small. Having holidayed in my own house in Spain for a number of years, we found the French experience delightful and experienced nothing but courtesy from the locals. We will probably return

A large house, with 5 double bedrooms with ample space for, say 8 adults & 2 children ( one of the bedrooms has bunk beds ). Generally well equipped, but we were tolerant of the fact that the building, like many similar properties in France, is a little tired & could do with some refurbishment. The road is a quiet cul-de-sac and the garden at the back of the 3 storey house is quite large & well sheltered. The outlook from the upper rooms, overlooking the beach, is spectacular but the hill down to the seafront is quite steep and winding and you really need to use the car. This makes a pleasant ,central base from which to explore the delightful villages and harbours of Finistere. We should add that Martine, the owner, is an extremely helpful and very pleasant person to deal with.
