Whether you're a couple seeking a peaceful getaway in the Dordogne or a family looking for plenty of features to keep the children happy.
Whether you're a couple seeking a peaceful getaway in the Dordogne or a family looking for plenty of features to keep the children happy, this 18th century villa enjoys such a beautiful setting high above the rolling French countryside.
Appreciate La Closerie's classic ambience with stone walls, wood-burning fireplaces and simple, rustic furnishings. Soak up the sun on the loungers by the pool and dine al-fresco on the stone terrace looking over the vast gardens. Younger guests will also adore the indoor games and play set in the garden.
Set off on a hike - there's no shortage of beautiful paths here on the edge of the rural town of Grezes. In nearby Terrasson-Lavilledieu, around 7km away, you'll find the Gardens of the Imagination - a beautiful 13-part landscape installment presenting mankind's transition from nature to city life. Also convenient to Terrasson are restaurants, cafes, a cinema, and supermarket.
Further afield, a day trip to Perigueux is worth your while. This medieval town hosts a daily market where you'll find the delicacies of the Dordogne, most notably foie gras and truffles. Even closer, if you fly in through Brive-la-Gaillarde, stay a while! The locals exude "Gaillarde" - lusty, robust good humour.

The Dordogne area of France is one of the most beautiful and one of the most popular. It has lovely countryside interspersed with medieval, bastide towns where fairytale chateaux rise from the morning mist - it is also a great region for food lovers: all the Perigordian specialities such as Foie Gras, confit d'oie, canard and mushrooms of all types are in abundance.
There is nothing more one could wish for as the local area offers everything: stunning walks, medieval towns, superb restaurants, an abundance of beautiful countryside and weekly markets in local villages.
La Closerie enjoys a strategic location on top a hill in the outskirts of the small village of Grezes. Close by there are Cavagnac (3 km) and Terrasson (7 km). The old town of Terrasson is lovely, with a large church, caves and Les jardins de l'imaginaire: this is large garden on the heights of Terrasson. The center boasts many wonderful restaurants offering local delicacies and artisan shops selling hand crafted jewellery and glassware.
Surrounding villages that you must visit to explore the local area include St Leon de Vezere, Saint Amand de Coly, Saint Genies (market on Sunday morning). Similarly, The Lascaux caves are an unmissable day out, there are also the Toutoirac caves and there are the Rouffignac caves as well.
The region also boasts a selection of magnificent chateaux including Chateau de Hautefort, Chateau de Castelnaud, Chateau de Sauveboeuf and Chateau de Losse.
Recommended cities include Sarlat (38 km) and Periguex (75 km).
A number of airports are located within a reasonable driving distance: Brive (30 km), Bergerac (113 km) and Limoges airport 118 km.
