Each room has been carefully decorated with traditional colours and wallpaper from Farrow and Ball, and furnished with antiques and works of art. All bathrooms are of the highest standard, using brands such as Lefroy Brooks and Sottini and bed linen and towels from Frette. There are 16 bedrooms across both the Chateau and the adjacent annexe for up to 34 guests.
Chateau Le Duc is set in 12 acres of beautifully kept gardens, complete with fruit orchards, a swimming pool and badminton court. Breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner can be taken on the terrace overlooking the picturesque local village, or alternatively a candle lit dinner can be enjoyed in the dining room.
An historic landmark in French history, the chateau was once the palatial home of a duke who served under Napoleon and it was given to him as a token of his appreciation for his dedication to France. His influence on French history is evident in the numerous statues and landmarks named after him in France.

Within 15 minutes of the chateau there is a lake (with beach sand) for fishing, water skiing and canoeing. There are also local tennis courts and horse riding facilities. Within walking distance of the chateau (1.5km) one can find 2 bakeries, a butcher, a supermarket and there's an outdoor market once a week in the village. A new golf course is only 10 minutes by car.
Wine tastings can be held at the chateau. There are large supermarkets in St Yrieux. Within 15 minutes there are several excellent restaurants. Bergerac is 128km from the chateau.
The closest airports are Limoges (50 minutes), Bergerac (90 minutes) and Bordeaux (2 hours). There are good train connection from Paris to Limoges (3 hours).
