Chez John is an absolute gem, we had 6 in our party and the gite was perfect. Nigel and Jan were excellent hosts and went over and above to make sure we all enjoyed our holiday, we could not fault the place at all. We are planning to return next year without a doubt. Cathy, Chris & hordeRead more
We had a wonderful stay for four days in early April at "Le Manoir des Rosiers". It is definitely a great place with delightful facilities. We enjoyed our four nights at "La Maison ", a large and very pleasant gîte with nice antique pieces of furniture. Maia and Frederic have been always on hand and very pleased to advise us about the wonderful surroundings in the Loire valley, many historical places to visit in the area, cultural events and, of course, local wine and typical food (Don't miss "fouées" and "rillauds"). On top of that, we had four sunny days. We only regret we did not stay longer. The place is worth at least a full week and we shall come again !Read more
This is a truly lovely house with secluded private pool. It has been sensitively modernised to a high standard whilst maintaining its rustic feel. The region is lovely although very remote. Expect to drive for at least 45 minutes to any chateaux or decent sized towns/cities. However, with the right weather (which we sadly did not get), it would be easy to spend whole days relaxing in the house, pool and garden. On a small note, the kitchen equipment (especially knives) need a bit of updating. The bread knife was a real struggle! All in all, though, lovely property that I will seriously considering returning to. Would be perfect with a second family of friends in the adjoining house.Read more
Le Petit Pavillon was a beautiful holiday retreat and perfect for a relaxing week away. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly, recommending places to visit and places to eat as well as answering any questions we had. The property itself was beautifully decorated and clean with everything we wanted for the week we were there, the home cinema and hot tub were brilliant extras! The only slight downfall was that there weren't any shops or restaurants within a short walk away but that also meant it had the upside of being very peaceful and had everything you needed to cook food at the property. Would definitely recommend staying here.Read more
The administrative processes of booking, paying and communicating with yourselves and our hosts were straightforward and trouble free. Our journey via London City Airport and Angers to the Manoir was also pleasant and without incident. We knew something of the accommodation prior to our visit, as our daughter and family have stayed here for a number of years and can't stop talking about it. The village itself is peaceful and a delight. Then we arrived at the Manoir, tucked into an even quieter corner and were enchanted by the beautiful setting and extensive grounds. The Pavilion was a surprise in its construction, with its open ground floor, mezzanine sleeping area and its traditional farm house atmosphere. We spent a relaxing and enjoyable time there in France and wish to thank our congenial hosts, Maia and Frederic, for their warm welcome and hospitality.Read more
We had been at the Pigeonnier Tower for 7 days in May 2016. Manoir Folquetiere is a lovely and quite place in the countryside we can really recommand. Especially the warm welcome and hospitality of Rosemary & Richard made the stay for us unforgetable. They are very much helpful and attantive people. The Tower is decorated with love and due to the small stairs to the upper bed- and bath room true romantic. We woke up every morning with the sound of the birds. The terrace in front of the tower is a nice place to sit, talk, picnic and enjoy the lavender and roses. We where very greatful to have every day a gorgeous breakfast for starting into the day. With a (rental) car the manoir ist a good place to go on daytrips to the castles, villages and gardens in the area around and close to the Loire river. It is also possible to go on hiking trips close by. The landlords gave us a very good recomendation for dinner at Auberge Saint Fiacre at Veuil - so delicious. Also, we liked the cute dogs and cats and remember at Manoir Folquetiere and the good conversations with Rosemary & Richard. Go and enjoy it too!Read more
