Villa overview - owner's description

This pretty 4 bedroom 2 bathroom gite has its own private swimming pool and lies on the outskirts of the small village of Genouillé. The house has many original features such as exposed beams and stone walls and has a fully fitted kitchen/diner with small utility behind and from here you access the galleried lounge with vaulted ceiling. You have a large screen TV with English and French channels, a DVD player and full internet. There is a king sized bedroom downstairs too with it's en-suite shower room (shower, basin and WC) which is also accessible to the rest of the downstairs, and there is also a separate WC. The lounge, kitchen and bedroom all give onto the South facing terrace with views onto the garden and large (10m x 5m) pool beyond. Upstairs are 3 further bedrooms including another king size with en-suite bathroom. The garden has pétanque, badminton and table-tennis or you can relax at the pool which also features a large covered area should you want a break from the hot sun, and a summer kitchen. Whilst the village has very few facilities Civray is just 5 minutes drive and has most shops and restaurants. There is tennis close by, several villages have weekly markets and beach lakes too, and try to visit the famous and very pretty town of Cognac and its distilleries 80kms to the South West, while Futuroscope at Poitiers is 60km to the North.
