Tucked away just off the beaten track between St Jean and St Pierre de Côle is this charming, vine-covered cottage known as 'La Vieille Chapelle'. A ruined château high up on the hill forms a spectacular backdrop whilst the River Côle meanders peacefully in front of the house.
This cottage has been superbly renovated to accommodate four people in considerable comfort and style. Old stone steps link the two levels of the pretty garden and a private, heated swimming pool (7m x 3.5m, with integral steps and pool side lighting), which has been installed on the upper terrace, cut into the hillside. A mown path leads down to the river and a landing stage which makes an ideal spot from which to fish.
It is rare to find such an idyllic retreat for smaller groups, offering as it does all the comforts of modern living in a tranquil, natural setting. Excellent furnishings and equipment throughout.
Large, attractive double bedroom with sitting area and french doors to front and side; en suite bathroom, separate shower cubicle, two washbasins, WC.

"We have enjoyed a fabulous two weeks here. The gite is so comfortable that it is tempting to laze around all day- we never stayed anywhere so tranquil or relaxing. Overall a terrific holiday" "What a wonderful, peaceful, romantic and idyllic place! After many years of travelling in Europe we can say that this compares to the best hotels and beats any other villa! "We have really enjoyed our stay thanks to all concerned - great welcome, very professional, a joy to stay - we will return next year." "We feel refreshed and rejuvenated after a really super, though all too short week at this magical house. First impression was - well, impressive- with a very professional and friendly welcome! "We've just come to the end of our second week at the Vieille Chapelle and I have to say that it is one of the best family holidays that we've had. The seclusion and safety is ideal. We have enjoyed the wildlife and tranquillity. All in all: a fantastic place for a holiday."
