A pretty listed 18th century Farmhouse overlooking a small village in the Dordogne
Overlooking the listed village of St Martial de Viveyrols and its pretty Roman Church this 18th century farmhouse has been renovated to provide a good sized holiday house with exposed oak beams and stone walls. It has two terraces (South and West), both with outdoor lighting, as well as sunloungers and a barbecue and great views over the surrounding countryside. There is also a covered logia area to give some shade. Entry is through large iron gate and the property is surrounded by an acre of well-kept garden with herbaceous borders, shrubs and a variety of trees giving privacy and seclution as well as a good variety of butterflies and birds. A wonderful holiday can be spent at La Grange either seeing the numerous sights of the Drone and Dordogne Valleys; participating in any of the various sports in the area; or simply lazing around and enjoying the rural life and excellent food and wines which make this region so popular.
There is a massive open-planned living room which has a dining table and comfortable chairs. This is best described as 'baronial' as you can look up to the roof beams and there is a chandelier. The original barn cow-ties act as a divider to the modern well-equipped kitchen. From here is a french door to the side terrace and patio.
Off the main living room you will find a smaller modern kitchen which can be used for breakfasts and a large second living room with a large fireplace. This is tiled and has recently been refurbished to provide a spacious and comfortable room with settees, sofa bed, chairs, HiFi, TV and video. There are 2 large windows one to the front and one overlooking the side garden. There are two bedrooms off this room. 'The Green Bedroom' has a double room with en-suite bathroom with shower, bath, toilet and washbasin. This overlooks the South terrace to the back of the house. Ther is also a twin room (The Pink Bedroom) which is through a small archway. This has a patio door onto the South terrace. A separate toilet and a bathroom with shower, washbasin and washing machine are next to this room.
The second double bedroom is up a wooden staircase and off a small landing which has a balcony overlooking the main living room. At the other end of the landing is the last twin bedroom with 2 single beds. Both these bedrooms are within the eaves of the house and have exposed beams and roof windows. The bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin is in the middle.

Ideal to travel around and see the sights but at the same time have a relaxing holidayMrs P, CanadaWe come here every year and find the house ideal for a great holiday at a reasonable price. The facilities are good and the area is quiet.Miss C, Yeovil
This property offers excellent value and is well situated with the bar/restaurant in the village just down the hill and a selection of restaurants and shops in the town 2km distance. Although no pool on site the town has a brand new pool and is very reasonable. We also enjoy days out by visiting the numerous river beaches.
This house has an acre of well kept garden with a selection of flowering shrubs all around the house giving masses of room plus two outside terraces - one very large terrace to the south and a small terrace to the west.
