Les Galets is a paradise of peaceful and comfortable surroundings. We spent four weeks in Sept/Oct, using Les Galets in the small town of Cucuron as the base for our exploration of the hill towns and valleys of the Luberon. Cucuron, built on and around a hilltop, has good southern views and is itself a delightful town with a supermarket, several good restaurants, a great bakery, a library and its own wine/olive oil cooperative. The architecture of the town makes taking walks most interesting. The weekly market located around Cucuron's L'Etang [Pond] is not to be missed. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Stella, Les Galets' owner, and her assistant Amelle, who thoroughly explained the mechanics, washer/dryer, kitchen appliances, etc. Stella provides the absolute best home information booklet we've seen in our many AirBandB experiences over several years. Les Galets is spacious, comfortable, extremely clean, and its bathrooms are very upscale, with excellent showers and water pressure. Finally, the outside patio, fitted with very comfortable couches, dining table/chairs, night lighting and a gas grill was the very best ... a perfect place to dine or simply enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets after a day of enjoying the Luberon. We strongly recommend that you stay at Les Galets. We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Les Galets. Thank you very much to both you and Amelle for making it a special visit that we'll long remember.

Highly recommended. We are a family of parents, two kids (9 and 14) and one elderly grandfather visiting Cucuron for a week. We all had a great time during a hot summer. Beautiful large modern home, with all the essential, luxuries, and extra equipment needed to make our 1 week stay in Cucuron a relaxing holiday. Stella was so organised, prompt with communication, and thoughtful. Really helpful with our questions, and followed up with any queries. We have travelled and stayed in a lot of airbnb all over the world, and this house had the best house guide ever.. so comprehensive, well written, with helpful diagrams, photos, and context. Highly recommended central convenient place to stay. Few mins walk from bakery, Donjon, and Tues market, convenience shop, pharmacy. Parking not an issue. Short drive to lovely lake for a swim, and neighbouring lovely villages Vaugines and Lourmarin. Clean, well equipped, thoughtful. Even had towels to bring to the lake. It was a hot August, and took Stella's experienced advice of closing shutters during day, so it was reasonably cool at night. Brought our own DVD's for our kids, and then visited Vaugine the next day (where Jean de Florette/Manon de Source were filmed). Enjoyed playing the board games in the house... including the maj jong set!!! Local restaurant Matcha was very good in particular. Lots of good restaurants. L'Art Glacier, Ansouis- Ice cream parlour on the hill has the best view and amazing ice cream sundaes.... not easy to find though, look out for little sign. It's been there for years, and popular. Tues morning market is lovely to buy local produce/gifts, eg. soap, wood produce, fresh fruit and veg, linen. Great friendly atmosphere around L'Etang.. Even went to an eve concert in the church, which had amazing singing and very popular, and a local small travelling circus. Three floors, with different exits, and flight of lovely stairs were fine for our elderly grandad. We enjoyed the terrace- so quiet and peaceful, even though we were so central. It was the perfect holiday home for the 5 of us. Many Thanks.

This home is even more spacious and lovely than described. The photos are accurate and the property spotless. The patio is very large too. Loved Cucuron as it is not covered up with tourists and moments away from many other great villages. Stella is extremely helpful. The house book is well done with photos and descriptions as to how everything works too! Thanks for a great week! Liz USA

Terrific Home in a Post Card Location The accommodations were beautiful and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay very comfortable. The communications with the property manager and the owner was outstanding. Stella even got us a dinner reservation for the one star Michelin restaurant in Cucuron. This is a very modern accommodation, great for relaxing and enjoying the surrounding area. We would highly recommend Les Galets to anyone staying in the Provence area.

The right place to experience the authentic Provence I was at “Les Galets” for one week in July with friends. It is a large, typical and beautiful stone building on three different levels, but inside full and modern equipped and with a spacious and comfortable terrace where you can have breakfast, dinner and relax. The house is in Cucuron, which is a beautiful and genuine village of the Luberon, not as touristic as others more famous villages in the region (e. g. Gordes or Roussillon) and so you can experience and enjoy the real life of a Provencal village. It is the ideal starting point to visit and explore (by car) the stunning region with its cities, villages and landscapes. We didn’t eat out at restaurants because we wanted to exploit and enjoy our kitchen and terrace, but at night after dinner we really appreciated tasting a “Pastis” in the central square of the village (l’Etang). Not far from the village there is a little lake with beach (Etang de la Bonde) where you can swim and relax after travelling throughout the region. Stella, the house-owner, was very friendly and professional and gave us all details and information about the house and the village. I highly recommend “Les Galets” to people who like unconventional and authentic holidays.

Perfect accommodations in a charming village”No RatingRue de Costo Caoudo, Cucuron, 84160, France Date of Stay Jul 19, 2014 5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago for a stay in July 2014 My husband, daughter and son-in-law spent one week at Les Galets. Stella was an amazing hostess. She was very responsive to our email queries and went out of her way to make sure our questions were answered before our arrival. Her home is beautiful. It is situated in the ramparts of Cucuron so it has the feel of an ancient building but the interior has been fully and beautifully renovated into a three level home with all of the amenities. The decor and furnishings are clean, clutter free and tastefully done. Cucuron was a perfect location for us. It is a small and very charming village that provides an "old world" experience which is exactly what we were looking for. All of the conveniences are available within walking distance which allowed us to experience and enjoy the Luberon lifestyle. The village is also centrally located and situated close enough to larger towns so that we didn't need to drive too far to explore the Luberon region. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Les Galets without hesitation.

Beautiful, modern home in medieval village - a quintessential Provence experience Anyone wishing to experience the Luberon area and Provence as the locals do, cannot do any better than this beautiful home in Cucuron. The village is ancient and seems right out of a movie set. This is not a touristy destination at all, so if you stay here you are staying with locals. The home itself is magnificant. From the outside it is a large stone building, set on a perch above a small road, dating back hundreds of years. The inside, however is ultra-modern. This includes a state-of-the-art kitchen, phenomenal Zen-like bathrooms with fantastic showers, a large HDTV with full cable/satellite, beautiful decorations, comfy beds, and a great patio with couches and gas grill. Also, it is spotlessly clean. We rent from VRBO frequently, I can safely say that the owners of this house, Stella and Aymeric, are the best property managers that I have ever experienced. Every possible question you might have about the house and the area is laid out in a professional "instruction guide." They took the time to meet us at the house and to show us around. It was obvious that they take great pride in the house and in that area of France. They are enthusiastic about providing recommendations and guidance for things to do in the area. One fact that is very telling about how much they care about their guests, is that I happened to mention before we arrived that my daughter has food allergies and cannot drink regular milk or soy milk but could only drink rice milk. I asked if there were any supermarkets in the area. Stella gave me a list of several supermarkets with their addresses. However, because we were arriving on a Sunday in the late afternoon, all of the supermarkets were already closed. Stella thought of this ahead of time and went out and bought us some rice milk before we arrived so that my daughter would have something to drink. That is indicative of how much Stella and Aymeric care about their guests. If you one to visit this area of France, this is the place to stay.

My husband, myself and our 7 year-old son love Les Galets where we lived for 2 years & 1/2. Prior to moving to Cucuron, I lived in London, in Brussels and in Beijing and my husband lived in Toronto, in Fez Morocco and in Beijing. We met in Beijing. Oo it is only natural that we love travelling the world with Asia being our most traveled destination! As guests, we always look for authenticity in our destination choice and we want to blend as much as possible to interact with the locals rather than just being tourists. Now that we have moved to Paris, we want to offer you a true Luberon lifestyle experience when you stay at Les Galets.

I love to cook (you'll see that by the number of recipe books on the shelves). At Les Galets, the kitchen is fully equipped to cook great meals made out of fresh products bought at the local market, your stay will also include great memories of diners and lunches. If you do not cook, you can still enjoy the space to entertain or relax and eat out at the nearby Michelin star restaurant or the many other option that both Cucuron and the nearby villages offers!
