If Peace & Quiet Are What You Are After, Look No Further......Brand New This Season.....
If peace and quiet is what you are after, look no further, we are offering, brand new this season, a gite converted from a barn, keeping all the original beams and having a log fire but with all the modern appliances.
Accommodation In France At It's Best.
The gite sleeps 6 consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 with double beds and 1 with 2 single beds, a shower room with toilet and separate toilet. The lounge/dining-room/kitchen is spacious with gas hob/electric oven, microwave, fridge, TV and DVD player.
The gite is up its own 400 metre drive and has 27 acres of land, mainly wood, lawn and 1/3 acre lake stocked with fish for the amateur fisherman.
Plenty of space for children to run around while the adults enjoy a barbeque.
We are in a lovely secluded spot yet only 10 mins from the motorway.
The area is predominantly mixed forest and meadowland.
There are plenty of places to visit in the area, manmade beaches, local swimming pool, go-karting, fishing, horseriding to name but a few
Sparsely populated roads are ideal for cyclists.
Rich with wildlife, birds and deer..
The property has been fully redecorated for the coming season..........
Spent a month staying here. Weather was variable, needed to go further South for the sunshine. House was nice enough although hadnt realised the owners house would be right beside it, wasnt in the property description. Owners keep to themselves though, would have been nice to find out a bit more about the area and what the highlights were to see from them. A few flaws to the place were the flooring in the kitchen hasnt been sealed so if you spilt a glass of water then it went straight downstairs onto the beds below, the kitchen cupboards have been built so that it can never be cleaned underneath due to the space being too small to put a broom under so it felt pretty grotty and we had a mouse also visiting while we were there so had to chuck a fair bit of nibbled on food away. Also the lounge has a mat which is pretty disgusting as never gets taken outside and shaken out as it is sellotaped to the floor.
I am afraid we cannot do much about the weather. On arrival you commented on how far it was to drive, perhaps you would not be happy going further South. We are always available to ask as to the local attractions etc and in the lounge there is a large folder filled with brochures and information. The kitchen has a wooden lounge and groove floor which is impossible to seal against water spillage if it is not wiped up immediately. With ten people in a gite designed for six will lead to accidents. In the downstairs cupboard (hosing the water cylinder) there is a long narrow tube which attaches to the hoover, designed to clean under the kitchen cupboards. Maybe a better solution will be to attach a wooden fillet to cover the gap. You informed me when you required a light bulb and when the kitchen sink trap needed to be freed from food waste. I should have thought you might have informed me if you thought you had a mouse and I would have dealt with the problem. The "mat" in the lounge is actually a rug and there is a Dyson hoover provided so you can keep the property clean during your stay. Unfortunately, a wardrobe was moved to a different location in a bedroom and a blanket box was damaged (lifted by it's lid), to make room for your extra guests, over and above your original booking numbers. On your arrival the property was spotless, unfortunately not so on your departure. Hope you enjoyed the bottles of wine on your arrival and the sweets for the children.........Kindest Regards

We had a lovely two weeks at this cottage.
It is quite remote, and hence the drive up to the top of the hill is a track ... but the benefit of this is lovely views (in particular to the other side of the cottage which the pictures dont show) and peace, quiet and tranquility.
The owners Mike and Alison were very helpful and discrete, and accommodated all requests.
We did a little bit more driving than anticipated, as it is slightly north of the more touristy areas around the Dordogne river (e.g.Soulliac and Rocamodour) ... but this was not too much of a problem. Of our days out canoeing along the Dordogne was the highlight of the holiday.
Lovely cottage and very courteous and helpful hosts.

Mike and Allison gave us a very warm welcome as did the property!
If you like peace and solitude in wonderful surroundings then this is the place for you.
The cottage is well laid out and well equipped and you have the choice of enjoying the gardens or wandering in the extensive private woodland.
The owners live nearby but are very discrete and genuinely want you to enjoy your holiday.
We will definitely be returning!!

Everything anybody would expect from a French Gite plus extras such as two fridge freezers and a dishwasher but access is difficult in a two wheel drive long wheelbase car. It was unfortunate that the description of the facilities was inaccurate. The cooker was not electric and the TV not satelite but I am sure this place would be appreciated by many people.
We value our privacy and to share the building with the owners office was definately not as described. Shame really as they were obviously very nice people.
My wife disliked sharing the site with so many people and having the owners camping nearby in the woods made us feel awkward and made our dog bark a lot. The gite is very dark inside requiring the lights to be left on during the daytime.
Ok, time to clear up a few points mentioned above. The customers turned up two hours early and were clearly disgruntled when asked to return at 4.00pm which is mentioned several times in the pre arrival details. Of all our 100 plus customers, the drive has never been mentioned as a problem area, in fact one family staying in one of our other properties, using the same drive was driving a new jaguar and he experienced no problems whatsoever. The electric cooker has recently been replaced after being broken, to a gas version. The tv is satellite and the dish is approx 10 mtrs from the back door. The gite is entirely self-contained and it is ridiculous to suggest that it is shared with an office. There were two other extremely quiet people staying in another of our properties 60 mtrs from the gite at the time of this customers stay. The majority of French houses tend to be a little dark when the weather is not good but how does leaving lights on pose a problem as the electricity is included in the price? Our property covers 27 acres and we were camping with our Grand-daughter in the woods 200 mtrs from the gite. We agreed to the customers bringing their dog on the basis that is was well behaved All the above facts can be verified by third parties. Should the customers have been able to communicate with others maybe their concerns would have been addressed. Please read the other reviews and make up your own mind!

What a great holiday, awsome value for money, directions were spot on and we were met warm heartedly after being delayed by traffic. The Gite is fantastic, if you are looking for a break, away from the hustle of normal every day life, then look no further. The surroundings are amazing and the views breath taking. Set in 27 aces of land the kids had fun every day exploring. Be prepared for a bit of driving to visit cultural sites etc but this is made up for by the stunning scenery. The gite itself contains every appliance needed and and even games and books for those quiet evenings. We had a brilliant time and will definately going again and with friends next time.
All we can say is thanks guys you made our summer.
kindest regards Tim, Nicola, TJ, Alex, Aidan Wright
