Outstanding! The accomodation was superbly furnished and very clean, the meal when we arrived was delicious and the welcome pack was more than generous. Neil and Sallys local knowledge and the information left in the cottage was greatly received. I would recommend this property unreservedly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les Marionniers and will definitely return.

Les Marronniers is extremely comfortable, clean and well equipped accommodation. The rural location makes for a relaxing environment, which you can especially enjoy in the bespoke garden to the property. However, it is also close enough to good road links and a decent sized town, Saint-Jean DAngely. The Owners, Neil and Sally, live next door and ensure that all fine details are attended to. The Welcome Pack is a great touch. Neil and Sally are also on hand to provide any advice you may require on the area such as good places to park in towns, etc. I would, without any hesitation, recommend this property. Superb value for money. Well be back!

We have spent a very happy and relaxing week in Les Marrionniers. The property was delightful with all rooms fitted with good quality furnishings and equipment. The lounge area was spacious with 2 large sofas and the 2 large bedrooms were beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable. The owners who live in the adjoining farmhouse were extremely helpful throughout our stay, The location in a quiet village was central to a number of places of interest. We would highly recommend this property and wish to return in the future as we found it to be very good value for money.

The property was excellent value for money and very well equiped. The welcome pack was very good and at an extra charge we were provided with a delicious meal on our first night. The outside space was an added bonus with very good quality patio furniture. Neil & Sally were very welcoming and had provided a folder with all the local information we needed. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to those looking for a quiet relaxing holiday with excellent facilities.

The moment we stepped into the property we felt at home. The quality of the decoration and furnishing is outstanding. This property has been furnished as if it were a home not for rent and the attention to detail is outstanding. Everything we needed was there and the welcome pack was more than generous. The owners live next door, but they have the knack of being there when needed without being intrusive. This is the perfect place for a quiet holiday. If it were a little closer to a beach it would have been absolutely perfect. However, its position encourages visitors to explore the small villages surrounding it as well as the larger towns of La Rochelle and Rocheforte. We really enjoyed our week.

What a wonderful cottage!!... have just enjoyed 2 fantastic weeks in Les Marronniers. The accomodation is beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need provided. Neil & Sally were wonderful hosts and provided lots of tips on things to see and do in the area. Cant wait to go back!
We have really enjoyed our stay in your lovely gite and visiting some new and some familiar places. We hope to visit you again next year Many thanks for your kindness and friendship. JJD July 2012
We had a lovely, relaxing week in Les Marroniers Neil and Sally are marvellous hosts who are there if needed but who also know how to be discreet. We really appreciated the welcome pack, the house and surroundings and all the attention to detail. Many thanks!
We found the property very attractive with excellent facilities. You will need a car as there are no shops within walking distance.
Simply one of the best holiday rentals we have ever had, a supberb gite, could not fault anything.
An excellent, away from it all property with everything you needed. Lots of privacy. Owners were extremely nice and very hospitable but remained obtrusive when necessary.
A great property in a great location. The owners live nextdoor but, unlike previous similar situations on holidays, never made us feel as if we were being watched. We were totally relaxed from the moment we arrived and theyd actually gone out of their way to provide us with a few additional bits and bobs (food/drink) to get us started. The property was very clean, well laid out and comfortable and pretty much every requirement had been thought of. It also offered privacy which is important when you just want to get away from it all. The only criticism was with the directions to the property on the website. We stuck to what we were given but ended up lost about 20 miles out on our way there (ie. the arrow indicating the property was in fact in the middle of inhabited countryside).
This is a charming cottage, beautifully decorated, a real home from home. The full sized kitchen, appliances and separate utility room were a bonus. There is lots to do and the owners are on site and very helpful. The very complete book for visitors told us everything we wanted to know about the house, the area and things to do . It is blissfully quiet yet not far from busy towns and the wonderful islands and beaches. The garden and terrace were the perfect place to relax after a busy day. We would love to come back for another visit some time soon.
We have stayed at 3 Impasse de Marroniers on three occassions. Les Marronniers is a very attractive cottage offering two charming and very comfortable bedrooms, a beautifully furnished large light and airy duel aspect living and kitchen area. The cottage has every modern convenience and is very fully equipped. The property is set in the peaceful, rural village of La Croix Comtesse in the Charente-Maritime Department of France. We found it ideal to use as a centre for exploring this historic region. The owners have created a totally charming and tranquil environment and have thought of everything to make one’s stay as enjoyable and stress-free as one would wish on holiday. The interior of the cottage is outstanding in its good taste, affording every modern comfort but at the same time losing none of its original rural charm. Everything has been carried out to a very high standard by Sally who is a trained interior designer. Our stays have always been truly relaxing and very enjoyable and we would most highly recommend this property as a place to stay at anytime of the year. Mim, Dorchester-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. UK
