This unique three bedroom holiday home forms part of a historic monument, situated in the stunning region of Provence. Located at the intersection of four departments: Vaucluse, Ardèche, Gard and Drôme Provençale, the charming stone property is well-placed for guests wishing to explore this stunning region. The holiday home - together with the neighbouring tower - was once owned by the Countess of Toulouse, and then by the Pope in 1274. It is thought that the neighbouring tower was used as a former prison, with the building being used as a watchtower or a guardhouse. Although it was completely redesigned in the 15th Century, the property has since been beautifully restored by talented, local craftsman, including cabinet makers, stone cutters and gardeners who specialise in traditional methods. The interior has been elegantly refurbished with high-quality materials, which combine rustic and authentic influences alongside comfortable and modern amenities. Outside, you will find a genuine medieval garden complete with saltwater swimming pool, which is accessible by a secure door. It is an idyllic spot to rest in the shade whilst enjoying the stunning vistas of the Rhone Valley and the Collegiale St Martin. This enchanting home is just 1km from Bollène, a pretty town which is thought by many to symbolise the gateway to Provence. It may come as no surprise, therefore, that you will be well placed to discover the region's most enchanting site including the historic town of Orange, which is just 25km away. Just 20km from the town is the entrance to the beautiful Gorges de l'Ardèche where you can enjoy canoeing, kayaking and paddling in the gorges waters. Elsewhere, there is plenty to do in this encaptivating region including caving, climbing, hiking, cycling, horse-riding and bungee jumping!Please note, one of the bathrooms and an independent WC are located in an annex on the ground floor (only accessible from the outside). A discreet office worker works in the annex during the day (until 17h).

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself.
