Villa overview - owner's description

Villa with private pool amidst beautiful rolling countryside, total peace and tranquility, in the heart of the Dordogne.

Your own villa with private pool amidst beautiful rolling countryside, in the heart of the Dordogne, an ideal base to explore all that the region has to offer. Visit the historic sites and chateaux, sample the gastronomy and some of the finest wine from Bergerac and Bordeaux. With a host of activities, events and festivals throughout the summer. Probably one of the best regions of France with an unspoilt landscape, charming medieval stone villages, some spectacular scenery and a pleasant climate.

Set within landscaped gardens and woodland, Campagnac Villa has spacious and comfortable modern accommodation with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Approached by a small lane winding up from the valley through the woods, the property offers total peace and tranquillity.

For fresh bread and morning croissants the local village with, a few shops including baker, butcher, organic grocery store and restaurant is a couple of minutes drive, for everything else supermarkets and tourist office the market town is 14 minutes away.

The villa has a ground floor bedroom and bathroom, separate wc, plus two further bedrooms, one twin, bathroom and wc on the first floor. You should find everything you need for an enjoyable stay. There is English UK television as well as French, a DVD and sound system, plus WiFi Internet access. The large grounds are fully enclosed as is the pool area and gates lead out to the woods.

You can enjoy eating in, dining al-fresco or choose one of the local and inexpensive restaurants. For that special gourmet meal you should discover the restaurant Le Lion d’Or in the nearby village of Manzac-sur-Vern. Here you may enjoy a wonderful meal dining out on the terrace and at a very reasonable price. The Perigord is renowned for it's gastronomy and is the best value for money in the whole of France.

Staying at the villa affords the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind. Enjoy the relaxed pace of life, browse around the local markets and take in the scenic countryside and wild life. For the more energetic take a day out to canoe down the Dordogne, a pony trek through the forest paths or a river trip on a traditional flat bottomed gabare (ancient sailing barge).

It is difficult to convey everything about the villa, here is what one guest said…”Campagnac Villa is a little gem. Furnished to a high standard but more importantly it feels like a very classy home from home. The thoughtfulness of the owners into what people might sensibly want whilst staying there shows an insight into how to give people a great holiday……Bergerac isn’t far, with a range of eateries, boat rides on the gabares and so on, and the whole of the Dordogne is accessible really quickly. All in all, Campagnac ticked all of our boxes,…..”

Golf: Perigueux Municipal Golf Course is located on the banks of the river Isle in the heart of the Perigord region. This 18 hole course, which is relatively flat, is crossed by the Beauronne which is a small stream and adds a number of features and hazards to the course. There are several other water features to negotiate..... 18 holes - Par 72 - 6029m - Practice - Pitching practice - Pro Shop - Bar - restaurant.

Peace & tranquility in the heart of the Dordogne is the perfect tag line for this lovely villa in which we have just spent 2 very enjoyable weeks. It is very well kept and furnished and equipped to a high standard. For us the villa is situated in the perfect location, a very secluded rural setting, ideal for relaxing by the pool but also a great central base from which to drive out and explore the surrounding delights of the Dordogne... of which there are many. The owners have done a great job with this villa and are also on hand as an invaluable source of local information and help to ensure that your stay is a good one. Many thanks Paul & Olivier - all being well we shall return next year!

From Five Oak Green, United Kingdom Aug 2009

A very comfortable, well furinshed and very well equipped villa located in a secluded and private area away from any hustle and bustle. We loved relaxing by the pool, wonderful walks from the front door, having space to chill out inside and outside the villa, and the peace and quiet that enabled us to unwind from the moment we arrived.
Local facilities are good, and a short car drive away.
If you are looking for bright lights and night life, go somewhere else. If you are looking for comfort, beautiful surroundings and privacy, book it now!
Paul and Olivier took great care to ensure we enjoyed our holiday, but were never intrusive.
A fantastic holiday enjoyed by the whole family - we hope to return soon.

Campagnac villa is the best weve had in France. It is light and airy, with none of the damp and musty smells that are prevalent in barn conversions in the Dordogne. The English owners are diligent and courteous and the villa is well equipped to a high standard. If looking for a quiet holiday - the nearest town is four kilometres away - we would thoroughly recommend it.

We live and work in the North of France and wanted to get away for a break to relax and unwind. The villa did not disappoint and the location was fabulous. We had everything we needed for a perfect holiday and the sunshine and blue skies were an added bonus. All this and we got a discount too!

Andrew and I stayed at the villa last year. We loved the place and having stayed in a lot of places in France this was by far the best property. Definitely recommend this villa and we will be coming back.

We were met by croatian property management at the ferry port, where we checked in and had a welcome drink. Very easy way to begin our holiday. They gave us all the information we needed a mobile phone and answered all our questions. We then made our way along stunning roads to the village of Milna. The house is situated on the edge of Milna, just inside and outside. Perfect location to watch the world wander by , without privacy compromised. We were met by our manager at the house and really she was fantastic she showed us around and arranged a barbeque to be delivered to the house that evening with wine vegetables and a roasted pig. What a treat. The kids nearly burst with excitement , when we lit the outdoor fireplace The beaches are nearby for exploring fantastic secluded coves and the main beach was an easy 15 minute walk along the waterfront. The kids would swim alongside us as we wandered to the beach. It was magical. The house itself was so beautiful, old stone building renovated completely with a separate spa bathroom, they called it. When the kids were in bed we would sit in the jacuzzi with the doors open and look at the wonderful view up the hills. I cannot recommend this house more and the staff organised anything we wanted. I am definitley coming back , that is for sure. For the kids , i have to say it is the first time in many years where we were not distracted from each other we had so much fun fishing and exploring and the village felt so safe they felt confident wandering around and we felt they were completely safe. Definitly book this house but not in july as we want to go back :-)
