Located on the fourth floor near the edge of the complex, this quiet apartment is light and airy, with beautiful views of the surrounding tropical scenery and the sea. The complex, originally designed as a hotel, has one of the largest pools in the country. It is set just outside of a national park and surrounded by lush tropical scenery. There is a mix of permanent residents and seasonal visitors so the atmosphere is lively but peaceful.

There is a restaurant on site, as well as a pool bar. There is also a massage centre; enquiries and reservations can be made through reception.

There is a free shuttle service from the complex to the beach and Sosua town centre so a car is not essential. There is a wide range of amenities available in Sosúa, considered one of the best beaches of the north coast. This once sleepy fishing village is now a top tourist destination as evidenced by the many bars, restaurants and shops that line its streets. Despite this, Sosua has maintained a small town charm that is all its own. The numerous bars and restaurants of the town are within 10 minutes of the Las Canas complex.

The nearby towns of Puerto Plata, Cabarete and Río San Juan also provide endless opportunities for fun and adventure, with horseback riding, kite boarding, wind surfing, scuba diving, golf , water skiing and safari excursions, available within a few minutes.

Nice large apartment with balcony and sea views. Great swimming pool and nice grounds. Its about 10 minutes drive from the town of Sosua so if you dont have your own transport then it can be a bit difficult having to rely on moto-taxis.

The road to the complex is being repaired. So be careful driving. Other than that, this place was great. You will need a lighter for the stove.The owner had plenty of plates, cooking utensils, candles and great terrace furniture. The pool was fantastic. Will defininetly return.

you would need a car if you wanted to go anywhere off complex as it is some distance from the towns/nightlife. no hairdryer or cd player in apartment despite saying so on particulars. the hot water was not constant but you did get some hot water. if you want a quiet get a way type break these apartments are ideal. lovely pool, service was good, and restaurant on site provided good value meals. make sure you ask for anything you need as not much information given out. shop on site sold basic needs at reasonable prices. not many people stayed there while I was there so you have plenty of peace and quiet and no problem with sitting on loungers by pool. staff all very friendly.
I was staying there for 2 weeks and actually enjoyed myself the first 2 days. Then one night I came home with a "friend" after being at the bar. Some guy named Tim told me that I was not allowed to bring my friend onto the property. While I could understand this if it was an all-inclusive hotel, where do they get off telling people who are renting APARTMENTS who they can or cannot bring into their apartment. Definitely would not recommend. This guy Tim seemed to be in a management position. If that's the way management want to run a rental place in the DR, I doubt they'll be around for too long.

I was concerned to hear this since I have never heard of anything like this happening before, either when I have stayed there or from one of my renters. I have therefore contacted the management and they have confirmed that guests are always welcome when accompanied by a resident. However, to ensure that the facilities are for the exclusive enjoyment of guests, entry of unaccompanied non-residents to the complex is controlled. Also, they have confirmed that there is no one called Tim in a management position.
