Tomb of the Kings Area and Paphos

This ideally situated holiday apartment is set in an enviable position , just off one of the main thoroughfares in Kato Paphos. It is within easy walking distance of the essential amenities at Tomb of The Kings Road and the seafront, as well as being only a 10 minute walk to the famous Old Town of Paphos where you will find the municipal markets as well as a large selection of shops, cafes restaurants and other points of interest. Popular restaurants like Olivetos, Fat Mamas, Artio Brasserrie, Youkoso and many more are within short walking distance.

Paphos combines ancient history with a cosmopolitan, modern tourist resort. The area by the coast is known as Kato Paphos and boasts a pretty little harbour and plenty of open air cafes and bars. Further inland is the aforementioned old town of Paphos, known by the locals as Ktima. With its narrow streets, hustle and bustle, covered market and typically Cypriot atmosphere, it is well worth a visit. As a consequence, Paphos is on UNESCOs World Cultural Heritage list.

Cyprus is famous as the birth place of the goddess Aphrodite, Venus in Roman mythology. She is known as the Ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty. Legend says that she emerged from the sea at Aphrodite’s Rock in a surge of sea foam.

Friends from Crewe, United Kingdom Sep 2018

We have had a fabulous 2 weeks in Cyprus. This apartment was excellent. Very clean and so well appointed. So close to various restaurants and bars but in such a quiet location that sleeping was never a problem. Great decision to stay here.

Family from Dundee, United Kingdom May 2017

Beautiful apartment and spotlessly clean on arrival. Location is fab and the welcome pack on arrival (after midnight) was greatly appreciated. Letting agent is the best I have used in Paphos and we have been visiting once or twice a year for over 12 years. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a hassle free booking in a lovely property.

From Sutton In Ashfield, United Kingdom Aug 2010

This was our 2nd stay in this apartment (we stayed 2 years ago) and it is still by far the best one we have stayed in. Its clean, new, fantastically situated, quiet etc. The little extras like DVD player, ipod dock, hairdryer, towels and a welcome pack of tea, coffee etc are just simple but really nice touches.

The way the apartment faces means its nice and shady at breakfast time and then early evening you can still sit on the patio and enjoy the last bits of sun coming straight down on you. Its secluded from the other apartments to a degree too so nice and private for late drinks.

The pool is maintained very well and its a nice temperature too!!!!

The apartments situation in Paphos is great too, just a short walk from the start of the strip into Paphos. This time we also discovered Old Paphos behind us where there is another selec tion of shops and tavernas.

The supermarket is a hop skip and jump away which was handy for stocking up.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would return again and again.

The taxi collection and return driver was fantastic too that we booked through the owners - he really made us feel welcome and he couldnt offer to do enough for us.

From Kings Langley, United Kingdom Apr 2010

Megas Alexandros is a small complex in a quiet area not far from the Tomb of the Kings Road where it is accesible to all restuarants, amenities and the old town. Our holiday was affected by the volcanic ash crisis, John Smith (Property Manager )and Steven from letsrentonline could not have done enough for us during this trying time. Thank you for all your support. We would thoroughly recommend this apartment.

From Mansfield, United Kingdom Sep 2009

The property was just as described, it met our every need and we enjoyed 2 weeks in paradise.

The location was ideal, in a quiet area but an easy walk to everything.

Recommend a car to see the island, but not necessary if you are happy in one location as everything is easily accessable in Paphos.

Any assistance or help was only a phone call away and John was always on hand if required. I do hope Man City have a good year or hell have to put his shirt away.

From Rotherham, United Kingdom Jul 2009

This is the first time we have booked with Villarenters and it is the best appartment that we have ever stayed in. It was better than it looks in the photos. It has everything you could possibly need including beach towels. It was just a short walk to the Tomb of Kings road with bars and lots of places to eat and a short walk to the old town with the markets and shops. A perfect location.
We booked Andys taxi he was excellent, very reliable, he gave us a cool drink which was just what we needed. John who looks after the appartment is also excellent and keeps it very clean.
The only down side was coming home, we could have happily stayed longer. I would definitely recommend this appartment.

Review submitted by Joyce from Glenrothes (Submitted: 01/06/2019) '' Excellent, clean and well resourced. Ideal for our needs, close to hotels/restaurants etc yet sufficiently distant to enjoy time away from the busyness. Melitza Tavern at Tala, Theo’s at the harbour and Avakas Gorge in the Akamas. New shopping development at Moullas looks good. Excellent, prompt, friendly and efficient communications with Stephen at every stage. I would have no hesitation booking with yourselves again based on the service we received. Only needed one phone call to local manager and our problem was dealt with easily by phone. Apartment was clean and well presented as usual. We were very happy with everything.''

Excellent, spotlessly clean and given that it is moving towards the end of the summer season I was very impressed that the standard of care I experienced in my trip in April was maintained, e.g. Good quality bedding and towels, so often somewhat ’tired’ after a busy season. Great location for us, close to amenities but separate enough to enjoy a quiet space when we wanted. Love the fact that it is not a holiday complex as such but rather providing folks with the opportunity to meet owners of apartments. Latchi remains a favourite and the Melitza Tavern in Tala is the very best of traditional food within a village setting. Cocktails at the Elysium a must. Dinner at Duomo Italian restaurant and Theo at the harbour excellent too. We went off road to Evrou abandoned village and reservoir/dam – very pretty and a worthwhile glimpse of the backstory to the conflict which continues to divide the island. First class service from you – a significant factor in returning for a second time this year. A significant factor in returning for a second time this year. Many thanks for your great support as I prepared for my holiday

Exactly apartment as portrayed online - very comfortable and well equipped. Nice quiet location with easy access to visitor attractions, pubs and restaurants. Karlinas and Kingfisher - closest to the apartment and very welcoming. Troodos mountains, Aphrodite's baths and Latchi/Polis all great days out. Brit-cars are very good value and helpful. Absolutely delighted with your service - very helpful and accomodating - thanks😃 Had no need to contact local manager. Actually cannot think of anything that can be improved upon.

Review submitted by Ricardo from British Columbia, Canada (Submitted: 09/04/2015) ''You asked for a response concerning our recent stay in the Megras Alexandros complex in Paphos, Cyrus. I'm happy to comply. We were in the condo for a three months stay and enjoyed it thoroughly. The condo was just about perfect for our needs and any other requirements peculiar to our stay was easily sorted; minor bits only and to be expected given the lengthy residency. Other minor issues having to do with the condo were handled on-site by the resident property helper in a timely and efficient manner. The place was what it was claimed to be in the online advertisement; no negative surprises at all. And there were many positive surprises. Among these was the superb location so close to the old town and to so many of the historic sites, the waterfront road, shopping and so on. Further, the condo had a natural extension of the living area because it was on the first floor and the living room opened onto the pool deck; a plus in our view and one we used every day while there. The Cyprus sun cannot be over-estimated. We found to management of the property to be efficiently handled and all business aspects of the let functioned perfectly. Because we'd found a very good Mandarin restaurant, Jackie Ma's, close by on the Tomb of the Kings Road, the Chinese New Year was celebrated there with the equivalent of a mese, only Beijing style, taken with several Chinese families in a private room, spontaneously arranged . An excellent find and highly recommended. We found other wonderful restaurants, Greek to be sure, up in the mountain villages around Paphos. One of the most recommended is called Farmyard Restaurant in Kathikas, It's a scenic trip as well as a surprising nosh - the pork chops are as big as one's arm and grilled perfectly over charcoal, so go there hungry! Close by are several other Cypriot villages worth a day's visit. Typically we spend at least several months in a new location in an attempt to avoid a Canadian winter, so it's unlikely we will return any time soon to Cyprus, but would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet time in the sun and comparative heat. Simply stated, we loved our stay there and could not be more pleased with the Megas Alexandros condo. The above statement concluded, you may use it as you please.''

Review submitted by Cynthia from Surrey - (Submitted: 13/06/2014) We found the apartment at Megas Alexandros in the same lovely condition as when we stayed two years ago. Both grounds and pool very well maintained. 2. Location is great with easy access to Old Town and shops & bars in Tomb of the Kings Road. Bus stop a short walk but we were sorry the local supermarket had closed and that the bar opposite was not open. 3. For visitors who enjoy live music, we recommend Bens (opposite the shopping mall) and Millennium in Coral Bay. Contact with the agents is excellent. A great service from Steven Gargaro. A call to John about a minor problem resulted in him arriving within 20 minutes to fix it. We certainly intend to return to this apartment within the next 2 years.

Review submitted by Vicky from Essex (Submitted: 18/08/2013) Fabulous apartment, met all our needs and more. Sounds very sad I know but so nice to have somewhere that provides clean fluffy towels, clean immaculate bed linen and faultlessly spotless makes a great start to any holiday! The layout ideal for family of four, including great outdoor space. Perfect apartment location as at pool side, but large enough patio area that you can stay on your own property without having to try and bag a lounger, we only ever had one or two families at poolside at any one point in time, very quiet place, although those we did meet were very friendly and welcoming. The air con was brilliant, wifi connection was great, as well as speakers in both lounge and bedroom for iPhone connection which was very handy, could sit on our own patio with our own music. We took our own DVDs, however a substantial library of films available in apartment, which was great for the very hot afternoons with young kids who refuse to sleep in the day! Great location, right on top of tomb of kings, ten min walk up the hill to local market, five min walk to local bus service that takes to anywhere! There a fabulously friendly restaurant called Karlinas only five min walk away, both ourselves and the kids loved the food the staff and the happy friendly atmosphere. Coral bay beach was a quick bus or taxi journey away, it was well equipped with umbrellas and loungers (about €7 for day), cafe, showers etc. We hired a car for two days, took a trip up mountains to Troodos square and further over to Kykkos Monastery which were both well worth the effort. Staying local to apartment both Tomb of Kings and Mosaics World Heritage sites (in Harbour) are absolute must do days out! We were well informed of all requirements by the agent, payments etc and felt no question would go unanswered, always warm friendly response to our requests/enquiries. Locally, John was warm and friendly without being overbearing, very approachable helpful and his number is on a fridge magnet which is a great idea! He made himself known on day one, to check we were ok then left us to get in with our holiday being very clear we could call him anytime for anything. Seen him around apartments on a couple of occasions and he was always ready with a wave and a smile. Local taxi was booked via yourselves for airport pick up and return, these were both on time, good prices and clean friendly taxis and drivers. Nothing to suggest to improve, we had a fabulous time and enjoyed our two weeks immensely. The only thing we hadnt realised, that you may bring to first timers attention is the use of UK plugs? A small point I know but saves people taking adapters unnecessarily as we did! We knew they drive on the left as in UK but didnt know about three pin plugs!

Review submitted by Emma from Wolverhampton (Submitted: 09/06/2013) "Very clean modern and well equipped. Few minutes walk to the bus stop which takes you to coral bay and the harbour. Easily walkable to the main restaurants and bars! We enjoyed the tomb of the kings, there is no shade here so cover up!! We also thought Karlinas restaurant was extremely good, very friendly and great food. Excellent service from LetsRentOnline, thank you for all the help. John was great even allowing us to check out later as we had a night flight. It was all great..

Review submitted by Sharon from Barnsley - (Submitted: 05/09/2011) "The apartment was very spacious and well looked after. We were more than satisfied. The proeprty is in an excellent location, within 300-400 yards to the main strip. No need for taxis or buses to get to the bars and restaurants. Only 300-400 yards to the Tomb of the Kings. We would recommend Tramps Bar, Bens Bar and the Irish pub for drinks. The restaurants are all of a similar nature where they offer a 3 course meal for a set price, but a couple stood out, namely Raffles and an Italian restaurant opposite the Irish pub bar, the name of which escapes me! We were more than satisfield with the service provided by Letrentonline. A very professional service. The property manager was excellent, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We were very grateful and would like to thank him (John) and his family who were very welcoming. There were no issues to report regarding this property whatsoever.

A wonderful location for getting to everywhere you need. The complex is small and intimate and the pool was lovely. The apartment is very well equipped and we enjoyed watching the collection of DVD's. We will definitely be back. Thanks very much.Neville and Jackie, Derbyshire, U.K.- Oct 07
