Tala village

The village of Tala and its lovely square and church is 1 min drive or 10 min walk. Its the reason why we chose to holiday in cyprus. It provides excellent local facilities with 2 bars for an evening drink and 6 local tavernas offering freshly cooked traditional meat and fish dishes and Mezze.
Tradition cypriot entertainment is also available on some evenings while the easter festivities are something not to me missed.Tala village provides a lovely blend of traditional cypriot life and hospitality that makes for an unforgettable holiday experience.

To make the most of your trip a car is essential. There are many great places to visit from the great historic monuments to the fantastic local fishing villages and mountain tavernas. The beautiful sandy beach at coral bay is 10 mins away. Paphos town again only 10 mins away provides local markets, designer shops,a water park, and great go- karts.,Paphos has an upbeat night life for a fun night out until you retire to the peace and tranquility of your Tala villa.

Stayed Friday 21 April 2006
I would definely recommed this villa,it is truly gourgeous! It is set up in the hills of Tala with wonderful viewsand so peaceful, if you want relaxation then this is the place for you! The decoration and furnishings are like a showroom with some lovely touches like CDs DVDs and Ipod docking station.Having your own swimming pool is great. If you can drag yourselves away to have dinner try the Square in Tala Square for homemade food and only 15 euros for a set 3 cousre dinner but be warned the portions are huge! We had a hire car and do think you need one to get around all the hills, and as we where 3 women on our own it is a bit spooky to walk back from Tala square in the dark. Probably fine if you are in a group. The air conditioning in the 3rd bedroom was a bit of a pain as it is on a timer for a max of 2 hours which means in the night you have to get out of bed to keep resetting it. We ending up sharing a room, but it would not put me off going again!

A beautiful villa, literally everything you need plus more in a wonderful location within walking distance of the store to stock up the fridge and visit the bar and few restaurants. Our group of 6 loved this villa and would recommend to all! Also a very positive word on the owners who were constantly in contact up until the day of departure making sure our every need or worry was answered.

We have just spent the most relaxing holiday we have ever had at Villa Hunter. In comparison to other villas we had looked at it was fantastic value for money in a beautiful peaceful location. The villa had everything we wanted from a clean heated pool with sea views to air conditioning that kept the villa lovely and cool. We chose not to hire a car as we wanted a relaxing week and Tala was a traditional Cypriot village & only a 10min walk. It offered a good selection of tavernas and a variety of restaurants depending on what type of meal you wanted. We made a late booking and could not have asked for more support from Peter the owner. He provided a welcome park with all the info you needed & even had pictures on the directions so we could find it!!! We will book again but next time hire a car so we can get to see Paphos. Highly recommend this beautifully furnished villa.

Peaceful, relaxing and convenient for facilities" A great holiday experience, from beginning to end. Peter & Jane really couldnt have been more helpful, from our initial enquiry right through to the immediate return of the security deposit. They are well organised, ensuring that you know exactly how to find their delightful villa, not only by providing detailed written instructions complete with photos, but also talking you through the details to ensure that there is no misunderstanding. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for them, as they were happy to look at flight options for us and provide recommendations for car hire. Added to this, with their detailed knowledge of the area, they were full of helpful suggestions of where to eat, shop & see the views. Tala is a delightful village, with several good restaurants, bars & shops. Villa Hunter is situated approximately 10 minutes walk away (albeit via a hilly route but only 2 minutes in the car) so close enough for the convenience but still far enough away to ensure peace and tranquillity. It is superbly equipped, with everything including (somewhat unusually in our experience but an excellent touch) pool towels & hair dryers provided. It really is something of a home from home, with internal decor of a good standard and comes complete with WIFI and a full TV package via the internet TV - an absolute essential as our stay spanned the concluding stages of the world cup! Complete with views down to the sea, what more could one ask for? Also, there is a support available locally, Whilst we didnt need it, is a source of comfort to know that you can call on somebody if you do have a problem. Our last visit to Cyprus was 8 years ago, when we stayed in Coral Bay. Much has changed in the meantime and not all for the better with vast numbers of developments started but remaining unfinished due to the property downturn! We hadnt been to Tala before and whilst this clearly hasnt been immune, much of the development is on the outskirts so the village itself retains its Cypriot character and was a delight to return to after days out. In conclusion, we were delighted with the whole experience and have no hesitation in recommending this villa

"Fantastic - again!!!" Summer 2014 all reviews on trip adviser Back recently from an 11 day holiday at Peter & Janes wonderful home from home.Villa Hunter is a superb holiday base 5 minutes from Talas quaint village square where there are numerous restaurants and bars all offering terrific value for money especially when compared to the over touristy Paphos. The views from the pool or upstairs balcony down to the coast from Paphos to Coral Bay are fantastic. We have stayed here four or five times now and over the years Peter & Jane have always striven to improve and updat e their beautiful property. The decor and fittings throughout are top notch even extending to Sky TV (great while we were there especially for keeping up to date with "the Ashes")!!!!! There is an information booklet, constantly updat ed with suggestions on where to go, what to see and places to go for a meal. This year we were told we had to try a restaurant in Latymba particularly on a Friday when it was Greek night. Oh my goodness! the Meze was huge but the food was brilliant and we even got a complimentary liqueur when we mentioned we had come from "Tesco Petes"!! Thank you Peter & Jane for letting us book again - were already looking at next year because we notice youre getting full already.
"fantastic villa Hunter, tala Cyprus" oct 2014 We had a fantastic stay at Villa Hunter in Tala, Cyprus. The villa is as lovely as the photographs show , very spacious and clean. The outdoor area is beautiful and we enjoyed happy days relaxing by the pool. A hire car is essential if you want to see more of the surrounding area. All the directions given when booking were excellent so even though it was dark when we arrived we found the villa easily. The extensive local info in the villa was very useful and truthful. We will definitly be going back to Villa Hunter.
"A beautiful villa in a beautiful setting" We stayed at villa hunter a few weeks ago, and had a brilliant holiday. The photos of the villa show it off well, it really is that lovely! Villa Hunter is in a quiet location so you really feel you are getting away from it all. Yet the amenities, especially the heated pool meant that with 2 teenagers, no one was bored. In fact days out exploring were often shortened so we could get "home" to the villa- a dip in the pool, a glass of wine looking out over the nearby hills, and a bit of sky sports for the boys (naturally) before we headed to the local village square for a gorgeous meal in one of the local tavernas was pretty much our routine. What stood out for us, having been on several villa holidays was the helpfulness and advice given to us before we had even left home. Peter and Jane could not have been more pro active in providing information to ensure our holiday would be a special one...which it was. The unfortunate thing is that it all seems a long time ago now.
Simply fantastic" It has taken me a few months to get round to writing this review but the bad weather here has lead me to remember with great longing the fantastic holiday we had at Villa Hunter. This is our second visit and I can confirm that the villa really is as good as the photos suggest. It is clean, modern and very stylish. It has all the mod cons and satellite TV for the unmissable sport! The terrace and pool are dreamy and there is a fantastic patio to eat a lazy lunch. We were delighted with the views over the hills and quiet, surroundings and found it quite difficult to tear ourselves away to investigate further afield! Talla square is very close bye with good restaurants and bars to visit in the evening - Marios is a must! - brilliant cocktails, but there are plenty of interesting sights to see in the surrounding area. Pete and Jane provide lots of suggestions for places to go and restaurants to visit - they are exceptionally helpful and really helped to make our holiday as good as it was! We had a fantastic week and will be visiting again. If you are looking for a beautiful, relaxing place to stay this is the one!
Villa Hunter, Tala, Cyprus. 5 out of 5 Review Submitted: 20-Oct-2013 Date of Stay: Sep 2013 This is our 4th visit to this beautiful villa and cant wait to return. The villa has everything you could wish for and the area is perfect for relaxation. The views from the villa ,especially at sunset , are picture postcard. The photos posted are just what you see when you visit the villa. Would recommend this Viilla to everyone seeking home from home with sunshine guaranteed. Peter and Jane the owners are always happy to help or answer any questions and give advice on where to visit whilst in Tala and where to eat . If your looking for the perfect villa in the perfect place Villa Hunter is a must. Graham and Ann, York. Did
Chilled, stress free and a perfect holiday 5 out of 5 Review Submitted: 08-Sep-2013 Date of Stay: Aug 2013 My first experience in a villa and I was not disappointed. The holiday was amazing from start to finish. Peter and Jane recommended many restaurants and places to see and although we didnt get a chance to see or try them all we were not disappointed with the ones we tried. Pete has done his ground work and all the owners know him and we were given a free drink lots of times! The information pack at the Villa was informative and very helpful. Everything in the villa was as described and your every need is catered for. We had several nights in so the small touches like the BBQ and dishwasher made it a pleasurable experience in addition to the docking station and the playstation which hosted .few competitive "Buzz" games. The gardens and outside areas are amazing. The newly installed sail over the dining area was perfect for cover during mealtimes as we did have some stunning weather. The outside lighting in the evenings gave off a warm background ambiance, it was a pleasure to sit and chat with a bottle or two! Car hire was a must and we did some miles but saw some fantastic places. The sunset boat trip is a must from Latchi and the Safari Quad was an amazing experience, I felt a very liberated 46 year old! The Turtle Sanctuary is a must see and if you can manage it (which unfortunately we didnt) get there are dawn as this is the time the baby turtles hatch and make their way to the sea. For the first time every I could have quite happily stayed on another week and Im usually itching to get home at day 12/13. There were six of us staying and it was big enough for all of us. The journey from and to the airport wasnt too bad as I was quite worried about this as we landed at about 9pm but I would probably recommend arriving in the daytime if at all possible. Pete and Jane have made every effort to make their Villa a home from home so that your stay is a perfect one and I definitely recommend a visit at some point. Thank you Pete and Jane for letting us holiday in your Tala home.
Fabulous modern Villa in peaceful location 5 out of 5 Review Submitted: 09-Oct-2013 Date of Stay: Jun 2013 Great villa in a peaceful location, yet within a short walk of the tavernas and restaurants in Tala village square. Villa is modern, comfortable, and fitted out to a very high standard. The owners Peter and Jane are very helpful, both in the information they provide before departure, and with any help you may need during your stay
Stay At Villa Hunter ,tala, Cyprus 5 out of 5 Review Submitted: 11-Oct-2013 Date of Stay: Aug 2013 We had a fantastic stay at the Villa Hunter in Tala. The villa was as fantastic as it looked on the photos. All the info received from Peter & Jane was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them re all the questions we bombarded them with. A hire car is an essential when staying at this villa but all directions are very clear so there were no problems in finding the villa. We had a fantastic week at this villa with our 2 teenage daughters and would highly recommend the villa and will definitly book again.

Julia A. Fantastic stay at a beautiful place Review Submitted: 06 October 2012Date of Stay: June 2012 If you are looking for a little piece of heaven then you need look no further than Villa Hunter in Tala. It really is a beautiful place. We visited for one week at the beginning of June and returned happy and relaxed - thats a successful holiday! The pictures of the villa are good but we were still surprised at how beautiful the villa is. It is spotlessly clean with very stylish modern furnishings and all the conveniences you could expect of a five star residence - sat tv, v good air conditioning throughout including bedrooms, beautiful linen and comfy beds, comfy sofa and dish washer and washing machine. Home from home is right - we did not want for anything and it all looks fantastic and is a pleasure to be in. The pool and garden were great with lots of flowering plants and carefully tended bushes. It was just so peaceful lying reading a book under an umbrella in the shade with the occasional dip in the pool for exercise! It was really quite easy to do nothing there! However, we did drag ourselves away and it is essential to have a car to get about and see some of the nearby cultural sights and take trips to the beach and buzz of Paphos. ISome evenings we would just want to stroll in to Tala where we found there were bars and restaurants to visit. Marios do some mean cocktails and the staff are really, really friendly. Pete and Jane are the most attentive owners. They were so helpful and really want to make your stay as good as it can be. They gave us lots of info on where to visit and good restaurants to eat at - some you just would not find without their help. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definately visit again. Thank you Pete and Jane for a lovely holiday
Victoria J. A wonderful holiday! 5 stars very much deserved!! Review Submitted: 11 July 2012Date of Stay: June 2012 We have just returned from a two week stay in this wonderful villa and can honestly say it is the nicest villa we have ever had the pleasure to stay in - a true home from home. The villa was immaculate, beautifully furnished and very comfortable, exactly as described. We couldnt have asked for anymore help or information prior to departure and all emails to the owner were replied to promptlyand lots of information readily given. We were even provided with photographs to go with directions from the airport/to nearest beaches/supermarket which were so very helpful - these small touches make all the difference. I only wish I was still sat out on that sofa under the stars sipping a glass of wine as I was this time last week! I cannot recommend highly enough and hope to return in the near future
Sharon C. Stunning Villa With Spectacular Views Review Submitted: 25 October 2012Date of Stay: October 2012 We took a pensioner and a teenager away with us on holiday and thought we might not be able to please both with our choice of accommodation and location but we should strike lucky with one of them. However, they both loved the villa and location. The owners haven’t shirked on comfort and amenities. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and if you’ve forgotten to bring something from home you’ll probably find it’s already provided. Usually a couple of days before the end of a holiday we are itching to get back home but none of us wanted to leave. It truly is a wonderful relaxing villa in the most spectacular setting we have ever seen. You have a fantastic sea view on one side and beautiful hills on the other. Taking a pensioner and a teenager on holiday could have proved very stressful but it was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had. Tala Square, which is just a short walk away, has many Taverna’s and restaurants as well as a small shop. You could very easily dispense with a car and just relax at the villa and go down to the square to eat. The menus at the Taverna’s cater to all tastes and we had some truly fabulous meals. Everyone we met were so helpful and friendly and the villa owners are well known to them. So if you dro p their name you’ll often get drinks on the house, extra large portion of deserts etc. On our previous 2 visits to Cyprus we hadn’t had the knowledge of the places to visit and places to eat at other than what the guidebooks tell you. However, the villa owners share with you their and other guests recommendations and we found the most amazing places to visit and eat at that are not advertised. For example we would never have discovered the Last Castle without their recommendation and if you haven’t been there and experienced it you are truly missing a wonderful experience. We have no hesitation in recommending this villa and once you have experienced it we are sure you would never consider staying anywhere else

WENDY H. Luxury Villa in Tala Review Submitted: 14 October 2011Date of Stay: August 2011 We booked this villa as a party of 5, 2 couples and my adult daughter. The layout of the villa and its outside areas and location were the main reasons we chose it. Everything is as described and we had a lovely holiday, you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the resort to enjoy the real Cyprus, but not so far that you feel isolated. We did have Sunday Lunch in the square and enjoyed the views from the verandah. The villa is very well equipped and well looked after, we would certainly return

Fiona P. Fantastic holiday! Review Submitted: 10 July 2012Date of Stay: June 2012 Tala was a lovely place to visit - very quaint and welcoming. The villa was great, loads of space, well kept and very relaxing. The owners have a welcome pack and lots of recommended places to visit, eat etc which helps loads. 5 Best Villa in Tala Review Submitted: October 8, 2011 Date of Stay: April 2011 We think Villa Hunter must be the best villa in Tala, Location, Locations its top. The villa was every thing as discribed plus more. It had a real home from home feel, and the owers have spared no expense in creating a lovely villa. The decor is very comtempoary, and the best beds ever with lovely bedding like a 5* hotel. Really nice to have all the great touches as Sky sports, dishwasher etc. The location is great, quite with lovely views yet only a short walk to the lovely village of Tala which has a great bar ( Marios) and tavernas. Tala was a lovely Cypriot Village with a try old fashioned feel and we were well looked after and made welcome buy the local people. The owners send out a great infomation pack about the villa, local area, including lots of directions that include photos that made the drive to the villa really easy plus also directions to paphos, coral bay and local shops etc. We liked the fact they call before you go and talked us through the route which shows how attentive the service is with a visit from their great team while we were there. Thanks dave the pool is lovely and Donna for the advise about things to do.The restaurant reccomendations were excellent and made for a great stay, WOW do go to the Last Castle with out the oweners help you would not find this place and it is well worth the trip. The gardens are a small bit of paradise in cyprus and even the gardener came around to check all was ok, what more can you want, and all certainly more than we ever expected. Alison and I had a great two weeks at Villa Hunter. For us it was just what the doctor ordered. All your recommendations were spot on but we have to admit we didnt do all of them. For us a holiday is about doing nothing (mind you Alison would have me walk around every heritage site going if she could), reading laying by the pool or beach, sipping a beer or three and just chilling. This ticked the boxes. We went to the beach a few days but really, the pool at the Villa was so inviting, why bother with all that waiting for the air conditioning in the car to cool it down enough to get in when you can just sit in peace right there. The villa was immaculate when we arrived, very stylishly decorated and furnished. It had everything we needed, its very beautiful and youve done a fine job to make it not only feel like a home from home but a very tasteful one at that. The local restaurants were really good but we saved the best until last, "The Last Castle". What a place!!! We couldnt believe it because we had driven right past it the first week and never saw it. That drive is unbelievable, you just keep going along that beach road (actually more beach than road), when we saw the sign for the restaurant we were shocked because having gone to the beach where the Turtles lay their eggs the week before, we just didnt see it. If youre not looking out for it, you would never know it was there. The food was simple and tasty the BBQ lamb had a flavour to die for. We will return soon, we love to travel to different places but for us, this would be a great place to chill for a week and get away from the cold of England. I have told quite a few friends about Villa Hunter so hopefully that will keep you going for the next few years. Thanks again for all your comments, advice and information on the Villa, Cyprus, directions and everything, it really helped us to settle in quickly and therefore relax, which is what it’s all about. Chris & Alison
Luxury Villa in Tala WENDY H. Review Submitted: October 14, 2011 Date of Stay: August 2011 We booked this villa as a party of 5, 2 couples and my adult daughter.
Best 5* Villa ever Emirates surry Review Submitted: December 1, 2010 Date of Stay: April 2010 WOW... what can i say. this villa is just Fab and having seen other villas and locations in Tala i can see why this has become the most popular in the Paphos area.( to be honest all of Tala is great but this really is the best) The villa is actually much better than the photos and is in such a lovely quiet location with great uninterupted views over the coast. It really is 5 Star plus with every thing you need with really comfortable beds better than any hotel we have stayed in all , well equiped and such a great design something the owners should be congratulated on and should be proud of. You can tell no expense has been spared in furnishing the villa and it is pure luxury. When we walked in the villa it was beautifully presented with flowers on the bed and every attention to detail very well thought of.It reminded us of those great hotels in Dubai The management team who looked after us in cyprus were great and really helped us settle in. The free welcome meeting shows how attentive peter & jane are to ensure that their guests are really well looked after and is a real added bonus that we did not expect. The heated pool was a real bonus in april as other pools were freezing yet we had a pool that was lovely and warm cleaned twice a week and really made our stay such a real luxury. The villa is only a short easy 5 mins walk to Tala village square that has some lovely tavernas and a bar which makes for a really nice local cypriot feel. The local people were great to meet and it is obvious that they know the owners well and are always to happy to help. The Owners were so helpful with our booking providing a great booking service and good advise.Their car hire info saved us loads, while the info they send on e-mail about restuarants and the local area was great and we really enjoyed all there recommendations . Thank you very much for organising such a great holiday for us. No more 5 *hotels for us this villa is much better and also such great value. We have already booked for 2011 as we are sure it will be sold out again and cant wait to be back. Thank you from all our family
parky jersey channel islands Review Submitted: November 23, 2010 Date of Stay: September 2010 We would like to take this opportunity to say what a lovely time we had at Villa Hunter. The villa was very clean and tidy and decor very impressive. The views from the pool and bedroom are gorgous. (just a shame the remaining villas arent finished around about). The location was ideal for Tala square where we spend most nights at Marios bar and the gorgous restaurants around the square and Tala. We took along our parents with us and our 3 year old daughter whom all had a lovely time, infact I think it is the first holiday my dad has been on that he didnt want to come home.
3rd visit to villa hunter as always perfect in every way. Fab views from villa excellent facilities inside and outside villa.Tala square bars and restaurants all within walking distance. This villa is a must if you want luxury peace and all the feel of home from home even sky tv, Looking forward to our next visit.
Rating5 out of 55 Villa HunterKeith & Ann Switzerland Review Submitted: December 1, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009 We spent a delightfull 3 weeks at Villa Hunter during November. The quality of the villa, pool, furnishings and fitments are all first class as are the views and the quiet location. The villa is within easy reach, would recomend car hire, of numerous shops, taverns and restaurants in the local area. For golfers there are 3 good golf courses, Tsada, Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills within a 20 min drive varous beaches are also within easy reach. We would definitely return for another holiday in the villa
Grifter york Review Submitted: December 9, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009 A wonderfil villa, that is kitted out with everything you could possibly need. Tala is a beautiful little village, and the choice of restaurants is great. Really easy to get to form the airport, and a short drive into Paphos. Ideal for families, we had the most relaxing time, even with my 1 year old. A cot was made available with bedding, and the kitchen was better than at home. We will be back every year, if they will have us!! Faye and Finley

After looking at many countries for our ideal villa to retire in we know we had the right place when we went to Cyprus and stayed in Tala. It is a really special place. The locals make you so welcome, the food is great and the cost of living good value not forgetting the lovely weather. The villa was built by a local builder who's father is actually the lord mayor of Tala village .Through the family we have made so many new friends,we miss it every time we leave but now we have decided to rent the villa to guests who also get the same great welcome and give us some great stories about how welcome they have been made in the village when they say were they are staying. So do enjoy our home and friends and if there is any help or advise you need please do not hesitate to call us as. based on our travels we can give great advise about flights and car hire. we have a great list of places to eat at so you can be assured of some good nights out and can also tailor your stay to some great days out as well. If its a wedding my team are really helpful with all the things you may need to ensure a great stay. We love to pass on our knowledge of the island and local area , nothing is ever too much to ensure you have a great stay. Happy Holidays Peter & Jane
