Overview

Hi, my name is Nick and I would like to introduce you to this perfect villa.
If you are just considering a holiday in Cyprus, you may want to hire a hotel room.
But if you are looking for holiday accommodation with a certain level of sophistication, then please join me as I walk you through “villa Thea”.

The setting for the villa is on the prestigious Secret Valley golf resort. Surrounded by mountains and valleys, the glorious scenery is complemented by acres of unspoilt natural beauty and miles of virgin beach. But do not despair… you are not in the middle of nowhere. Secret Valley is conveniently located just off the main motorway that accesses both Paphos and Limassol. The Paphos international airport is an easy 12 minute drive and it’s a scenic 15 minute drive to the picturesque Paphos harbor and town center.
In the more direct vicinity you will find the quaint traditional village of Kouklia (5 min drive west), here you will find true Cypriot hospitality. A meze at the local tavern is a must for all food lovers. The village is small but has the necessary amenities and facilities.
The world renowned five star Aphrodite Hills golf resort (5 min drive east) can provide you with an additional 18 hole championship golf course, gourmet dinners or a pampering day at the spa.
A short drive further and you will find yourself at the legendary birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite. It is so beautiful the legend insists that the goddess of beauty herself was born from the foam of the breaking waves of the sea.

The villa is ideal for golf lovers, romantic getaways, families or the young at heart.
The unusual shape of the villa gives it its character. It is not a square box.

The solid wood front entrance door opens into the main living area. This living room(fully air-conditioned) is bright with sunshine flowing in through a wall of glass patio doors that lead out onto the main outdoor patio The room is decorated with a modern Italian lounge suite, fine artwork, coffee and side tables. It has a 42’ plasma T.V, DVD, surround sound system and satellite.

The kitchen area is open plan that is separated by a breakfast bar. This kitchen is a cook’s dream. It has modern appliances including fridge/freezer, oven, hob, filter coffee machine, waffle maker, blender, popcorn maker, griller and a variety of high quality designer pots and pans to make your cooking experience an event. You are on holiday…enjoy it.
For a simple cleanup, simply use the dishwasher and washing machine.

The dinning room is open plan and very spacious (fully air-conditioned). It comfortably seats 6 adults around the modern dinning table. Enjoy views over the swimming pool through the triple glass patio doors. There is a WC for your use on the ground floor.

A staircase from the living room leads you to the 3 bedrooms (2 double, 1 twin), all with double volume height:
The master bedroom is large, it boasts a double bed fixed around an Italian bedroom suite. The side tables with their ambient night lamps warm the room. The room is of course en-suite with a shower, WC vanity unit and basin. The bedroom has large glass patio doors leading to a private patio. For all the true romantics out there, the master bedroom’s veranda is perfect. Here you can enjoy a nice glass of wine and loose yourself with a picture perfect view of the mountainside, valley and even distant views of the world renowned Aphrodite Hills golf course. Not forgetting nice sea views.

The second bedroom is a similarly decorated double bedroom.
The third bedroom is a twin room. Two single beds with its side table.
The second and third bedrooms share a common bathroom with a bath, WC and basin.

The great thing about Cyprus it the fact that the weather is so predictable, and although the villa is all the luxury comforts you want, you will probably be spending much of the day outside. The outdoor facilities will make your holiday extra special.
The main outdoor patio is perfect for entertaining. It is exceptionally large and has a lovely outdoor dining area. It is covered and leads down to the swimming pool area.
The swimming pool is lovely 8M X 4M in size. 6 full size sun patio beds allow you to completely relax as your body absorbs the sunshine. Use one of the cooler boxes to keep your refreshments ice cold by your side.
Should you want to stay outdoors for the day, try cooking up a storm with the barbeque area and the souvla (Greek BBQ to slowly cook meat on large skewers).
The green grass and landscaped gardens complete the outdoor entertainment area.

My aim is to provide my tenants with above average quality accommodation that is meticulously clean. Your privacy will always be respected.

It’s the little things that make a holiday extra special. The attention to detail in and outside of the villa will give you a good start to a great holiday.

Don’t forget, it will be up to you to get out and enjoy Cyprus’ many attractions. Whether you enjoy a cultural day out, a day at the beach, a night on the town or just a relaxing quiet walk along the beach its what you do that will make your holiday unforgettable.

Venture out
Venture out

The very name Cyprus, it has been said, shimmers with an ages-old mystique. Today, history and hedonism are comfortably intertwined on the island. Ravishing five-star resorts within walking distance of well-preserved Greek and Roman ruins offer every amenity the modern traveller has come to expect and more to state of the art thalassotherapy health spas.

Venture away from the sybaritic shore - if you can bring yourself to - and succumb to the slow, seductive rhythms of the interior. There are old wine-producing villages with atmospheric winding streets and terraced vineyards. Explore Greek Orthodox churches nestled in the hills whose walls conceal vibrantly painted Byzantine frescoes.

Love Goddesses and Sacred Mountains
Along the route that leads from Secret Valley to Limassol, the roadway opens up to reveal a magnificent stretch of coastline where chalky white cliffs stand watch over a dazzling aquamarine sea. Here sun worshippers make detours for a picnic and a swim at Petra tou Romiou, a boulder that marks the spot where Aphrodite emerged from the sea foam in ancient times. In the Akamas region, hikers exploring the areas rich flora can cool off at the grotto where the love goddess bathed after her amorous interludes.
Throughout Cyprus, the typically Mediterranean landscape is still blessed with the timeless beauty of antiquity. There are crusader fortresses framed by tall cypress trees, Greco-Roman theatres carved out of cliffs and Byzantine monasteries perched improbably on mountaintops. Sophisticated cities successfully balance the ancient and modern.

Archaeologists report that the site of Paphos has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. It was a centre of the cult of Aphrodite and of pre-Hellenic fertility deities. Aphrodites legendary birthplace was on this island, where her temple was erected by the Myceneans in the twelfth century BC. The remains of villas, palaces, theatres, fortresses and tombs of the Classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods mean that the site is of exceptional architectural and historic value. The mosaics of Nea Paphos are among the most beautiful in the world.

Old Paphos
Old Paphos, now the site of Kouklia a five minute drive from Secret Valley, was seated on an eminence, at the distance of about ten stadia from the sea, on which, however, it had a roadstead. It was not far distant from the promontory of Zephyrium and the mouth of the little river Bocarus

Paul At Paphos
After landing at Salamis and proclaiming The Word of God in the synagogues (Acts 13:5), they traveled along the entire southern coast of the island of Cyprus until they reached Paphos (Acts 13:6). There, Sergius Paulus, the Roman proconsul, was converted after Paul rebuked the evil Sorcerer Elymas (Acts 13:6-12). It was at that point that Paul effectively became the leader. He was from then on called Paul, rather than his former name, Saul.

New Paphos
New Paphos (Nea Paphos), the currently inhabited town, was founded on the sea, near the western end of the island, and possessed a good harbour. It lay about 15 km northwest of the old city and Secret Valley.

The port of Kato PaphosToday Paphos, with a population of about 47.300, is a popular sea and a fast developing tourist resort, home to an attractive fishing harbour. It is divided into two major quarters: Ktima, on the sea terrace, is the main residential district, and Kato Pafos, by the sea, is built around the mediaeval port and contains most of the luxury hotels and the entertainment infrastructure of the city. The harbours of Paphos are not so important: the normal shipping goes via the harbour of Limassol. Just as is the marina of Paphos for fishing and other kinds of interest.

Interesting sites

The Castle of PaphosAt the harbour, there is the Castle of Paphos, originally built as a Byzantine fort to protect the harbour and rebuilt by the Lusignans in the thirteenth century, then dismantled in 1570 by the Venetians, who found themselves unable to defend it against the Ottomans, who in their turn restored and strengthened it after they captured the island. Saranta Kolones, Kato Paphos, near the harbour, is a castle built in the first years of the rule of the Lusignans (beginning of the twelfth century) maybe on the site of a previous Byzantine Castle. It was destroyed in the earthquake of 1222.

The legacy from its remarkable history adds up to nothing less than an open museum, so much so that UNESCO simply added the whole town to its World Cultural Heritage List. Among the treasures unearthed, are the remarkable mosaics in the Houses of Dionysos, Theseus and Aion, beautifully preserved after 16 centuries under the soil. Then there are the mysterious vaults and caves, the Tombs of the Kings, the Pillar to which Saint Paul was allegedly tied and whipped, the ancient Odeon Theatre and other places of interest including the Byzantine Museum and the District Archaeological Museum, with its attractive collection of Cypriot antiquities from the Paphos area, dating from the Neolithic Age to 1700 AD. Near Odeon, there are the remains of the ancient city walls, the Roman Agora and a building dedicated to Asklepeos, god of medicine.

The mosaic floors of these elite villas dating from the third to the fifth century are among the finest in the Eastern Mediterranean. They mainly depict scenes from Greek mythology.

The city contains many catacomb sites dating back to the early Christian period. The most famous is Saint Solomoni Church, originally a Christian catacomb retaining some of its twelfth century frescoes. A sacred tree at the entrance is believed to cure the ailments of those who hang a personal offering on its branches.

Near Petra tou Romiou, there is Palaepaphos, Old Paphos, one of the most celebrated places of pilgrimage of the ancient Greek world, and once an ancient city kingdom of Cyprus. Here are the ruins of the famous Temple of Aphrodite, the most ancient remains, go back to the 12th century BC. The temple was one of the most important places of cult and pilgrimage of the ancient world, till the 3rd-4th century A.D. The Museum, housed in the Lusignan Manor, is small but impressive with many finds from the area.

Ayia Paraskevi church in YeroskipouYeroskipou with its remarkable five-domed Byzantine church of Ayia Paraskevi, and its Folk Art Museum is a town in Paphos metropolitan area known for many years now for its special delight `loukoumi.

North-east of Paphos lies Ayios Neophytos Monastery, famous for its `Encleistra, Enclosure, carved out of the mountain by the hermit himself, which boasts some of the finest Byzantine frescoes of the 12th and 15th centuries. Near by too is the painted village church of Emba (Empa).

Four kilometres north of Paphos is the village of Lemba (Lempa), which has become home to numerous artists, many of whom have open studio shops, the sculpture known as the Great Wall of Lempa, by the Cypriot artist Stass Paraskos and the Cyprus College of Art.

Stopped in a lot of villas over the years and this one was by far the worst ever. No doubt this was a quality villa In 2007/2008 but certainly cannot be classed as that now. Description on the website is totally inaccurate and the villa is in desperate need Of attention and general maintenance upgrade. Broken bulbs in every room, and the cream leather suite was heavily Stained making it most unwelcome to sit on. The outside gardens were in need of attention and littered with old beach balls and lilos Etc.. The sun beds had been left outside and were filthy and we had to clean them before they could be used. The side of the villa contained an old broken down lawn mower, obviously unneeded as all of the grass was imitation. Pool was not clean on arrival with the edges badly stained with sun cream. following complaints to the owner, pool cleaners attended On Tuesday and on Wednesday morning the pool pump house flooded and blew the pump and the electrics. The pool was Then out of action until Friday. Leaving half a days holiday left for use of the pool, although the owner insisted that the Water was okay to swim in. The free car advertised was an old Clio with 138,000 kilometres on the clock and all the paint peeling off. The interior Was disgustingly dirty and in urgently in need of attention. We spent every day contacting the owner and asking for different problems to Be rectified. Not once did he call us and did not even have the courtesy to say goodbye when we left the villa to return home. This is advertised as a luxury villa and without some urgent attention is definitely misrepresented.

The lengthy description Nick gives of Villa Thea is accurate and true. A lovely 3 bed roomed villa in a superb, quiet position in the hills near the coast. The villa is clean and spacious. The pool area faces South to maximise ‘sun worship’ time and the pool was cleaned early every day. In summary, the accommodation was excellent. The real icing on the cake however is the service Nick provides. We were met at the airport by a pre booked taxi, even though our flight was 5 hours late arriving at nearly 02:00. The provision of an air conditioned car, in the drive ready to go, is brilliant, no traipsing into town to book a rental car and having to deliver it back. Nick was always available but never intrusive. We never had any issues but Im sure he would have resolved them very quickly should we have needed him. A taxi promptly appeared to take us back to the airport on our return journey. Overall a great, relaxing holiday experience. Tip - visit Kouklia (15 mins away to the West) for some great, reasonably priced restaurants and pop into the more upmarket Aphrodite Valley complex (10 mins to the East) for more restaurants and a Costa Coffee shop (with WiFi).

Another great holiday at Villa Thea. As previous the villa was in excellent condition with everything we needed. Nick, Christella and Andrios were very accomodating prior and throughout our stay if you needed anything all you had to do was ask. The villa is in an ideal location handy for the motorway, local villages and shops including Paphos harbour. Looking forward to another stay next year.

Such a beautiful villa and stunning suroundings. Very quiet and relaxed. Very near all we wanted to do, just a short car drive. Car provided suited our needs well. Enjoyed the villa so much we didnt go out nearly as much as we had intended! Managed to relax and unwind very quickly. Would highly recommend this villa to all. Owner and his family very friendly and helpful. We will be comming back, what more can we say! Very very pleased.

Many thanks for a wonderful holiday, Villa Thea is a credit to the owner. There were five in our party and we all have nothing but praise for the villa and the location, and the peace and quiet in the evenings and nightime (during the day there is the very occasional builders vehicle that passes by, but as its a new development this was expected). The directions given are spot on, (use the trip meter in the car and you will have no problems). The offer of the optional welcome pack is an excellent touch too, as the flight we used arrived rather late and meant we didnt arrive until nearly midnight. We were glad we took the option at least there was something for breakfast.

I have never commented 'post holiday' before but on this occasion feel it is really deserved. We have just enjoyed a week at the villa which was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we were seemlessly picked up from the airport to the day were dropped off absolutely nothing more could have been done to make our stay more enjoyable. The villa itself has everything anyone could wish for and the use of the 'free' car a real bonus. We will be booking again!

The villa was perfect for us! The surrounding area is beautiful and the local people in Kouklia made us feel part of the community. We all felt very comfortable and Nick and his Father in Law made our stay very easy by being available whenever we needed them, which was not often. The car that comes with the villa was great. I suppose the best endorsement is that we would definitely go again, and have already recommended it to our friends and family.

Very spacious and well equipped property. We did not need anything that was not supplied. Pick-up and drop-off at airport smooth and helped take any stress off that part of the journey. My wife and I had three very easygoing problem free weeks.

Nick was a gentleman... he made things very easy for us. He met us at the airport with his Mitsubishi L200 King Cab (perfect for our massive amount of luggage). We arrived at the villa and nick made sure that we knew all about the villa, etc. The villa is stunning the pictures do not do it justice. The Pool was lovely, although a little cold for us Pommie wuss's (bearing in mind it was mid October). The beds are very comfortable the kitchen is brilliant and well equiped. The TV and Sat TV was perfect for us to watch the rugby world cup (shame we lost). Golf is only 10 mins drive away at Secret Valley (which is a pretty ok course but £45 a round). Aphrodite Hills is 20 mins away and is £95...!! Don't hesitate to visit this villa and experience the lovely gentleman that is Nick Christodoulou

Villa Thea was a clean, well maintained property with high-spec furnishings and facilities (gas bbq, sun loungers, pool, cable huge widescreen TV). The location was good, offering the benefits of being on the Secret Valley development, only 20k from Pafos, with the bonus of countryside views and peace and quiet. Nick the owner - and our neighbour his father-in-law! - bent over backwards to be helpful to us during our stay. I would certainly recommend this villa to friends.

Prior to arrival in Cyprus, our experience with sales advisor Nick was just excellent! He done everything in this capability to make our stay feel that extra special. Along with the 5 star service also came a 5 star Villa. Everything you could possibly imagine was at our hands. From a top end full surround sound tv and dvd to all the cuttlery and utensils you would need. Nothing was left to spare at the fully furnished villa Thea. Thank you for your great hospitality Nick and making our stay very welcome. The Panesar Family

The villa is excellent in space, cleanliness and facilities. Air con was an important consideration when booking so was appreciated even thought we visited in mid October 2010, the weather was still hot by UK standards. The friendliness and helpfulness of Nick and his father in law Andrios were great. We did have a problem with the car provided but once it was reported Nick sourced a replacement while the original car was fixed, so the holiday was not spoiled. The pool was cleaned daily by Andrios a very pleasant genlteman. We were aware when booking that the villa was located some distance from the local amenities so that was no suprise to us, however a map ordirections to the nearest shop and taverns would have been helpful on the first few days especially as we arrived on a weekend , but this is only a minor concern and we did find our way around by exploration and with the help of Nick. Overall the holiday and the villa was a great , we went to chill and laze by the pool which we did almost every day. There is an issue that cannot be overlooked but is not the fault of the villa or Nick, the local refuse collection takes place twice a week not in itself a problem but the fact that it takes place at 4.30am is. They are not the quitest of workmen and on the first occassion we were unsure what was going on. The villa is not directly overlooked but this is due to the adjoining properties being empty, even so the landscaped garden of the villa does add to the privacy of the pool area and adds a little extra class to the surroundings. Generally the complex is quiet with little pedestrian or vehicle traffic. If you are after a quiet place to chill away from the usual tourist hotspots this is a place for you, the nearest village is a 10 minute drive with several taverns and a large supermarket. Paphos is a 20 minute drive by the nearby motorway. The TV was appreciated by the teenagers in our party but we ended most evenings sitting beside the pool. The holiday was good value for money, the villa was very large and better than we had expected . We would recommend this villa to anyoune wishing to visit the Paphos region. Les and Bernadette Baker

We stayed for 10 days - the villa was okay however needs some TLC as we had problems with one of the Air Con Units, a leaking Toilet that stopped working and required an overall refurb. The most annoying part is the timer on the Air Condition Units, in the height of summer it becomes annoying to have to switch the air con units on every 2 hours as they are on timers and switch off automatically after 2 hours. The units in the rooms need changing as they are extremely noisy, we had to swap rooms on the last few nights as the noise was unbearable. Overall Cant fault the owners tried their best to fix the problems. Thanks
Owner reply:

Hi Ted,Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. Not all reviews are good however we publish all reviews, the good ones and the bad ones. We hope that our customers recognise that all our reviews are genuine reviews. Thank you for informing us about the leaking toilet and the noisy air conditioning unit. You will be glad to know that these issues have been resolved. With regards to air conditioning timers - I have installed 5 air conditioners in this villa. You have unlimited use of all air conditioners. We only ask that if you are not going to be home, to please switch them off. Unfortunately many people do not respect this basic rule. We therefore needed to be able to cut them off at some point. I felt that a 2hr timer is not unreasonable. All you need to do is press a button if you want to switch the air conditioners on again. A simple push of a button to ensure the units are not being abused when the villa is empty is not unreasonable. This is a standard feature in 99% of all villas in Cyprus including my personal home. I sincerely hope your next stay in Cyprus is a more memorable one.Thank you,Nick

Villa was as described, definately needed the car as it was not within walking distance of any amenities. When we arrived the air con in the car did not work and Andreas sorted it out immediately for us, even lending us his car in the meantime.Nothing was ever too much trouble and our complete privacy was always put first. Local village Kouklia is def worth a visit as has some excellent restaurants including Astris Taverna which is superb food & really good value for money. Quiet resort although some building work still going on which sometimes started early but did not spoil our enjoyment of the holiday at all. BBQ was good, pool was cleaned daily & all facilities where great. Very quiet and relaxing place, everyone speaks english & extremely helpful. Find it hard to get lost as very well signposted around. Would definatley revisit the villa and recommend it completley.

We, had a fantastic weeks holiday in Villa Thea, The villa is a really great place to stay and has a fantastic sized pool and gardens with all the amenities you could possibly need. The free car is a toyota yaris,v which is in excellent condition and a great extra. The satalite offers Nova TV offering a good range of channels should you need it - we didnt as the pool was too tempting, we used it to listen to music on VH1. Andreos was very kind and cleaned the pool for us each morning. We would not hesitate recommending this villa to anyone in future. In summary thanks for a great place to stay and a great holiday.

A lovely villa on a development yet to be finished. The villa was well maintained and had everything we needed, as described. Nick's father-in-law picked us up and dropped us off at the airport which was great. He was very helpful and a good host.

Our family loved villa Thea and we will be back for more next year! It was everything it appeared to be on the website and more - we loved the pool, the location of the villa was so easy to get to areas of interest, although I admit we stayed in the villa for the first 4 days because it was so peaceful and relaxing. The pick up and drop off at the airport was much appreciated and the car worked out very well. Thank you !

We enjoyed a really good week at Villa Thea, the villa is well equiped, clean and the service and support from Nick and his family was excellent The location is very quite and remote so i would recommend taking the use of the free car when you book, this proved to be a really good benefit and was hassle free given that you dont need to go through all the admin of getting a hire car A first class holiday that I would higly recommend if you want to be in a quiet location and commute into Paphos / Limasol Thanks Nick / Andrea for a lovely time in Villa Thea

The villa was in a lovely location with great views, it was very clean and beautifully equipped. It had everything we needed including a car! The pool was lovely and clean and maintained while we there, Nick and his family were very friendly and helpful, we are already planning our next visit and passed his details onto friends. The website was very easy to use and well set out, it kept us very up to date with our holiday at all stages. Many thanks.

Facilities at the property were excellent and its location offered the opportunity to relax in the sun and bathe in the ample, well kept swimming pool. The location of the property also provided easy, quick access to Kouklia and Pissouri for local amenities, supermarkets, restaurants, etc. and to places of interest in the Pafos-Limassol areas, together with the many beaches on the nearby coast. In all a very enjoyable holiday, meeting all our expectations.
The photos of the villa do it no justice. The villa is much larger than it appears in the photos and it is in a great location. The free car was perfect for our holiday and our hosts Andreas and Nick were always eager to help us with little things. Thanks for a great holiday - You will definitely be seeing us again!Warren & Catherine Riley (Sussex)
