Villa overview - owner's description
Stone-built Villa Chara with its stunning landscaped grounds, three luxurious bedrooms and privileged position overlooking the popular beach resorts of Protaras and Ayia Napa is Cyprus at its finest. Think charming archways and classically Mediterranean stone walls, elegantly mixed with light, comfortable and contemporary furnishings. The bright whitewashed exterior contrasts with the backdrop of green mountains and azure hues of the sky and the sea for a stand-out property.
When you're not lounging by the private outdoor swimming pool on your cushioned sun lounger, there are plenty of shaded spots for a lazy afternoon snooze, to watch the world go by or immerse yourself in your favourite holiday read. If you need even more cool reprieve, dip your toes in the crystal-clear waters of your swimming pool or step inside the villa into the air conditioning. You can access the open-plan living area straight through the large patio doors from the garden terrace.
Inside, the luxury continues. You'll find a spacious living room equipped with dining table, sofas and a television. There's also a modern fully kitchen with everything you'll need for a self-catering stay – and more. All the rooms are bright and airy and have large windows and doors letting in the beautiful natural light and showcasing those stunning sea vistas. The upstairs bedrooms also benefit from front-facing balconies – the perfect places to watch the magical colour-changing sunsets.
If you can bring yourself to leave the comfort of the villa, Protaras centre is a short drive from the villa. There you'll find an eclectic selection of restaurants, as well as shops and cafes. For a livelier atmosphere, the equally appealing resort of Ayia Napa is less than a ten-minute drive away. It's known for its sandy Blue Flag Beaches, Venetian architecture and vibrant nightlife.

Villa Chara overlooks the scenic coastal town of Protaras in eastern Cyprus. This beautiful part of Cyprus is known for its natural beauty aka stunning mountain ranges and Cape Greco National Park. From the villa, it's a short walk or drive to the nearest sandy beach, as well as the resort centre with shops, restaurants and supermarkets. Ayia Napa with more stunning beaches, a picturesque restaurant-lined harbour and lively night life is also only a seven minute' drive away.
In Protaras, spend your days wandering the cobbled streets and browsing items in the shops or head to one of the beaches. Fig Tree Bay with its standout lone fig tree is a popular choice. There you can swim or snorkel in the calm, crystal-clear waters or take part in adrenaline-fuelled water sports. There's also an island you can swim out to and a boardwalk you can walk along.
Cape Greco National Forest Park is definitely a must-visit too with its beautiful natural scenery. Explore the pine forest trails via walking, cycle or horse riding. The routes take in fantastic nature, sea and coastal cliff views. For the scuba divers, this is also a top choice. There's a myriad of pristine caves, rock formations and canyons. Because it's located near Ayia Napa, you could also go there before or after and visit the Venetian-era Ayia Napa Monastery, which stands in the central square. Ayia Napa Harbour is also an excellent place to try freshly-caught seafood, while adjoining Pantachou Beach offers a stretch of golden sand for whiling away the warm afternoons on.
