Villa overview - owner's description

Stunning sea and mountain views. Villa with its own swimming pool, WiFi, barbecue and just a few minutes from the beach. Very suitable for families, romantic couples or friends.

Villa Demetra offers panoramic views across the bay and beyond the Baths of Aphrodite, the Akamas Peninsula, Latsi, and also across the rolling countryside and hills. This villa is extremely spacious with a private good sized infinity edge swimming-pool, attractive terraces and balconies, and an excellent standard of accommodation inside, well-appointed rooms and attractive furnishings. This magnificent house is ideal for families, large groups of people or couples who are looking for a smart, stylish and deluxe villa in a quiet area. The villa is about 300 sqm.
Whilst the lush colorful gardens of roses, orange and lemon, medlar, mandarin, avocado trees, laurels, jasmine and herbs diffuse their irresistible perfumes, be transported into the abyss of endless blue from your swimming pool overlooking the sea and beyond to where the horizon meets the sky.
From the intimate atmosphere to the luxurious surroundings brimming with character and charm, the owners have thought of everything to make your stay unforgettable.
The interior is spacious and fitted with all modern amenities to make your stay pleasant, comfortable, safe and pleasurable. The villa provides an inviting swimming pool, located in the front of the villa next to the outside dinner area, as well as a barbecue spot with ample space for sunbathing, relaxing while you enjoy and admire Argaka's natural beauty.
Argaka snuggles into the hills on the west coast of Cyprus. Set between Pomos and Latchi, it’s a slow-paced village with a couple of churches and winding streets that lead to a handful of shops, coffee bars and taverns. The unhurried vibe continues onto the sandy beach and up into the mountains, where walkers take relaxing strolls through the rural landscape.
Set in the far south of the Mediterranean, Cyprus has one of the best climates in Europe. Blue skies come as standard, and the island sees a massive 340 days of sunshine a year. Swimsuit temperatures kick in as early as April, when the mercury rises into the low 20s. Things get much hotter in the summer – 30 degrees is normal, although don’t be surprised if the thermometer creeps closer to 40 on some days. Autumn is slightly cooler, so it’s perfect for sightseeing or hiking in the Mountains. Cyprus gets most of its rain between December and March, but it’s not much, and temperatures are still pretty mild. At Villa Demetra you can celebrate Christmas with your family or your friends in a quiet area, in a spacious house with all facilities.
Argaka village is a beautiful place for a holiday villa as it is just a few minutes away from the beach and it has all that you need to make your stay pleasant. Argaka has a sandy beach with clear warm sea. From here, you're within easy reach of Latchi or Polis, both with sandy beaches and beach-side local fish taverns and high quality local restaurants. The visitors of the village are given the opportunity to enjoy the nature of Argaka by following the Nature Study Trail. While walking along the Trail, visitors can enjoy the beauty of the pine forest and the panoramic view towards the Community, the Chrysochous Bay and the Akamas Peninsula.
If you prefer, you can enjoy a golf game at Tsada Golf Course, just 30km from the villa.
There are lot of activities in Polis and Latchi ranging from water sports, swimming, helicopter ride, boat trips, fishing, go-karting, mini golf, night clubs, bars, nature walks, historical sites such as the Baths of Aphrodite, Bowling, Safari's, Sunbathing on the several natural beaches, Cycle routes and much more.
The Argaka area is very fertile and has an abundance of fruit trees including figs, grapes, prickly pears, apples, oranges and lemons. Being rural, early morning walks are particularly enjoyable. Additionally, in Argaka one encounters several species of the Cypriot fauna and mainly black francolins, partridges and loggerhead turtles.
Argaka has two churches, Ayia Varvara is the oldest one. It also has a few coffee shops, bars, hairdressers and tavernas which serve excellent local food. Besides, if you want to find more shops, banks, restaurants, night clubs and pharmacy, Polis is only a short drive away, about 5km and Latsi about 8km away.
Villa Demetra is located in a very quiet area, suitable for the absolute relaxing and chill-out moments, but only some minutes from very interesting bars, cafe and restaurants, as well as cosmopolitan beaches.
In a walking distance of about 1-2km you can find "Fly Again Irish Pub and Restaurant", "Argakiko" that is local tavern with souvlaki, sheftalia, pork chops and other local dishes, "Dimitris" tavern, "Saint Barbara", "The Half way House" and "Liza's place" cafe and Tavern as well as a bakery and mini market. All of them is beach front and has an awesome view.

Ground floor: Large kitchen with utility room and dining area. Terrace leading to barbecue. The Living room leads out to pool terrace. Sitting room/den with sea-facing balcony, which can serve as a game room. Double bedroom with en suite shower room.
Sweeping staircase leading to first floor with landing sitting area: Master double bedroom with en suite bathroom and dressing area. Twin bedroom with en suite shower room. Further twin bedroom with en suite bathroom.
Outside, the courtyard features the swimming pool, space for car (s), a covered seating area, sun loungers and BBQ.

Villa Demetra is situated near to Villa Niki, making them an ideal choice for two families or larger groups holidaying together.

We so enjoyed our stay at Villa Demetra, The villa was lovely , very spacious , and had everything you could need for a great holiday . We spent lots of time in the swimming pool which was great. and it was so nice to eat our meals on the outdoor tables and enjoy the great views of the sea and bay of Chrysochou. The owners always kept in touch and told us when pool/villa would be cleaned etc. We were very sad to have to come home from this villa , and will return in future for another amazing holiday. We highly recommend this villa .

The villa is large, clean and well equipped.
We were disappointed to find the pool water appeared to be dirty, apparently due to a recent storm. We were assured the pool was safe to use and efforts were made by family members to rectify the situation, but no professional help was sought during our stay. The pool at the owners other villa next door and nearby pools did not suffer the same problems.
Also the wifi was poor. Initially we thought it was a problem general to the area until we realised that local restaurants had perfect reception.
Due to these issues we were offered 2 days free on a future stay, but when we explained that it was unlikely we would return to the same resort twice and requested this be converted to a refund of 2 days rent, we were told this was impossible!

We've been on many villa holidays but can honestly say that this was one of the best. The villa was perfect in every way – clean, comfortable, amazing views, quiet and private yet within walking distance of the beach. The owner of the Villa, gave us some great advice to make the most of our holiday. During our stay, the villa was cleaned regularly and to an extremely high standard. We enjoyed shopping for our groceries in the local shops and traditional bakeries, as well as eating and drinking in the bars and restaurants at Argaka village , Polis and Latchi – sitting and watching the boats while drinking a nice cocktail was a real treat! Villa Demetra has its own private pool inset into the large patio area with seating under a covered porch. The internal space is beautifully furnished with all modern conveniences, including four en-suite bedrooms, play-room and kitchen. A sanctuary of tranquility the area around Argaka beach is very secluded with beautiful unspoiled beaches, stunning scenery and is the perfect spot for a relaxing holiday away from the stress of modern life. We had a wonderful time and came back fully relaxed. If you want a holiday with a true taste of Cyprus away from the noise and bustle of a modern resort then this is the place for you. I would definitely recommend this villa to a friend or relative and we will, without a doubt, return here for another holiday. We spent two wonderful weeks staying at the stunning Villa Demetra at Argaka village.

We have stayed at Villa Demetra several times It combines a beautiful rural setting, surrounded by citrus trees and farmland, with a stunning view of the sea and easy access to nearby Polis and Latchi with their shops and restaurants. There is plenty of space in the villa and round the pool where there is shade available. The owners are a delightful, helpful and weelcoming Cypriot family

Very spacious and comfortable villa with all that you would expect from a luxury villa. Clean and modern. Lovely pool and well equipped kitchen. 5 of us stayed there in September 2015. Would recommend booking air conditioning in July and August, we almost needed it in September. As the villa is quite elevated, you do get a bit of a breeze outside though.

Rested with 11.09-1.10.2014, 2 adults and a child of 8 months. I liked everything, especially the location of the villa. The perfect place for secluded relaxation, feeling that no one is near. No noise, no people, no city. Great view of the valley and the sea, behind the house a large garden. Beautiful swimming pool with lighting, lots of greenery, garden furniture, terrace (where we ate). Illumination of the area. Behind the house is very convenient barbecue, every day cooking fish or meat. The house is very spacious and bright, did not expect, pictures on the website do not convey the size of the house. Balconies, terraces, many leaving home. Designed to house up to 8 people, which is very comfortable. 4 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and a guest toilet. In the kitchen, everything you need, washing machines and dishwashers. A 10 minute walk shop to basic goods, restaurants. A large supermarket and resort restaurants 10-15 minutes drive to the villa is best to rent a car. Also went to the beach by car. Cleaning the house and the pool was, as negotiated with the mistress of the villa, it was constantly in touch by email or phone. Provide the child with a cot and highchair. Very happy holiday, happy that thanks to this villa found a quiet and peaceful area in Cyprus. Recommend this house to friends and themselves want to go back there.

We've spent a lovely week back here in the end of May 2014. I must say that it is a great place, with an amazing location. It is a really quiet, has a large garden, great view, and a lovely swimming pool. The house is very spacious with great amenities like barbecue, dishwasher etc. The owners have been extremely cheerful and helpful to us during our stay. We've rented a car, so it was quite easy to do shopping in a larger supermarket, visit local restaurants, nice Fly Again pub and of course the beach. All in all, we had a great time there! I cannot recommend the villa hardly enough and for sure we will consider booking it again.

Pauline from U.K. May 2013

"We had a really fantastic holiday at this villa. The villa is really superb, with famtastic views over the countryside and the sea in the distance. A very relaxing and peaceful setting amongst the orange and lemon groves. The villa is huge and I do not think the photos on the web site do it justice. The pool is a good size and we enjoyed lots of fun time with the grand children in it. There are also lots of thoughtful extras around the villa which make it feel like home. There were seven of us staying in the villa and there was still plenty of room with two lounges, several patio areas to eat on, and ample number of chairs, crockery and glasses to make use of. I would certainly recommend this villa and we hope to return there another time."

Jessica, (Switzerland) Sep 2012

The villa is immaculate inside and outside. The house is large, all the rooms are a really great size. It has everything you would ever need for a short or long stay. The owners were great host, kind and explained where everything was and how it worked and made us very welcome. This was my second stay there, and I plan to go back again. I can thoroughly recommend this villa rental whether you are a family on vacation or a group of friends. I booked a week at the villa with my friends at the beginning of September and they were all really pleased with my choice I made when we arrived. The photos in the website dont do justice to how large the house is or how clean and well prepared it is. Eleftheria who rents out the property is extremely welcoming and was very organized in communicating with us before our arrival. For those who do not know the village is one of the most beautiful in Cyprus. Argaka, Latsi, Baths of Aphrodites and Pomos have absolutely majestic beaches, great traditional food, site seeing and lack the hustle and bustle of the popular towns.
