Villa overview - owner's description

Spacious and airy villa in delightful rural village. Large private pool amongst landscaped gardens lined with palm trees and flowering herbs. Ten minute walk to beach and tavernas.

Finished to a luxurious standard with well established gardens, Villa Miya is roomy, comfortable, fully air-conditioned and has a large private pool.

The shaded, porched front door opens into a spacious entrance hall with mosaic tiled washroom with mirror and WC. This leads to a large, open plan living and dining area which occupies most of the ground floor (6.5m x 7m).

To the right, the well fitted Italian cherry kitchen (3.5m x 4m) with its granite worktops has all the stainless steel, modern appliances including: dishwasher, electric cooker/hob and grill, microwave, extra large family sized fridge (plenty of space for keeping drinks cool!) washing machine, toasted sandwich maker, kettle and toaster. Utensils include: garlic press, pizza cutter, 2 x spatulas (1 x stainless steel, 1 x plastic), cheese grater, bottle/tin opener, potato masher, potato peeler, tea strainer, whisk, food tent, BBQ utensils, serving tray, 2 x large wooden chopping boards, wooden salad bowl and servers, spaghetti server, tongs, stainless steel fruit bowl, stainless steel vegetable/fruit rack, ceramic salt and pepper pots, colander, kitchen knife block, coffee/tea/sugar jars, measuring jug, various plastic sealed containers, table mats, tea towels and a large stainless steel pedal pin.

Crockery includes: 12 x large white dinner plates, 12 x side plates, 12 x cereal bowls, matching large teapot, milk jug and sugar pot. Glasses include; 12 x wine glasses, 6x pint glasses, 12 x tumbler glasses, 12 x high ball glasses, 6 x champagne flutes and 6x plastic tumblers. Cutlery for 12 place settings. Cooking utensils include: 4 x heavy bottomed pans, frying pan, baking tray and 2 x large Pyrex dishes.

Conveniently, a door leads from the kitchen to the off-street parking - very useful for the shopping!

The spacious, airy living room which overlooks the pool and patio area is equipped with a 32” LCD TV, Internet TV Box, DVD player and iPod/iPhone dock music system for your entertainment. A wide selection of DVDs are also available together with board games and books. FREE, unlimited broadband is available via the wifi router. There is a marble, feature fireplace for those cosy intimate evenings and for those who like the warmth, the air-conditioning also doubles as central heating. There is comfortable seating for all in the lounge area, with 2 x 3-seater sofas, an armchair and large coffee table together with a dining table and chairs for six. There are cushioned whicker seats for use outdoors but we ask that cushions be brought in at night.

The double patio doors lead out onto the large, paved poolside area housing a large patio table and parasol, with chairs for 8, under the pergola with traditional Mediterranean climbing flowers. There is a large stone, chimneyed barbeque. There are sun-loungers for 6 and a further 2 parasols. 6, large sunbed towels are also provided. The pool itself is 8m x 4m and features Roman steps for ease of entry and exit and varies in depth from 1 to 2 metres. A perfect and relaxing place to spend the whole day, soaking up the rays of the Cypriot sun.

The rest of the garden features traditional well established Mediterranean flowering shrubs to all borders, landscaped with palm trees and flowering herbs. The garden is completely private and secure, with perimeter fencing and gates to both sides of the villa. There are 6 pool side/garden lights and two exterior lights for when entertaining outdoors on an evening. The pool itself has its own light which is on an automatic timer.

There is also a “shed” to the side of Villa Miya for the storing of sun lounger cushions and parasols.
The large marble staircase leads past the large glass-block wall window to the landing from which the three bedrooms and the bathroom are accessed.

The 3.5m x 4m master bedroom features a king size bed and 1.6m x 3m walk-through dressing area. The dressing area contains huge amounts of floor-to-ceiling, built-in Italian wardrobes. There are two bedside cabinets with individual lamps and a main light switch above the bed. Double patio doors lead onto the balcony which overlooks the pool and garden, perfect for watching the Mediterranean sunset. A large mounted dress mirror hangs on the opposite wall, near the bed with a hairdryer available, with a double socket. The large ensuite shower room has a WC, pedestal washbasin with mirror and full room-width shower cubicle with curtain and is fully tiled with mosaic to the walls. The bedroom has its own air-conditioning unit. Full bedding together with bathroom and poolside towels are provided.

Both twin bedrooms are 3.4m x 4m and 3.2m x 4m respectively and both face the front of Villa Miya, one having double patio doors leading to a balcony with views to the sea and to the fields. Both feature adult size, single beds (which could be pushed together if you wish!) and each bed has its own bedside cabinet or shelf and lamp. Both bedrooms feature floor-to-ceiling Italian wardrobes. Both have wall mounted dress mirrors as well as their own individual air conditioning units. Full bedding together with bathroom and poolside towels are provided.

The family sized bathroom features a full sized bath with overhead shower and glass shower screen, wash hand basin with vanity unit and mirror, and a WC. There is an immersion heater switch labeled on the wall outside the bathroom next to the light switches should you need gallons more hot water!

All bedding is provided. All towels are provided. All windows and patio doors have fly screens. The villa has floor tiling throughout. All air-con units have timers to prevent them being left on. This is to protect the units from overheating and breaking down. There are also moveable, electric fans available. Maid service is provided once per week. During two week rentals all bedding and towels are changed at the end of the first week. Pool cleaning is actioned twice weekly to ensure perfect bathing conditions. There is a net by the pool pump house should you wish to put this to use (it is surprisingly therapeutic!).
There are information booklets in each room which contain more information to ensure a more comfortable stay.

Only 7km from the airport and boasting a beautiful, unspoilt coastline and beaches, Mandria is a peaceful, rural village with several tavernas, shops / convenience stores, a bakery and a bank most of which are centered around the village square. Many of the tavernas have free wifi. There is a petrol station and supermarket just on the outskirts of the village. The gentle pace of life is palpable. It takes 10 minutes to stroll past the fields of fragrant crops to the expansive beaches which are quiet.

Paphos is only 14km and has a wide selection of tavernas, restaurants, bars, fast food outlets, and shops to cater for almost all shopping needs and even a Debenhams store. For the more culturally inclined, there is an abundance of historical sites to visit.

Using Villa Miya as your base there are currently three excellent golf courses from which to choose and more under construction. TSADA is the longest established. Situated 15km north-east of Paphos, this par 72 course is 550m about sea level ensuring beautiful views and cool breezes. Course length is 6,060m. Drive seven minutes east from the villa and you will arrive at the par 74 course of SECRET VALLEY, set amongst natural rock formations and trees. Course length is 5,904m. Just next door is the award winning, par 71 course of APHRODITE HILLS. Built on two plateaux separated by a ravine, the course has to be seen to be believed. Course length is 6,229m. All of these courses offer wonderful playing experiences as well as first class facilities and the climate of Cyprus makes year round golf a viable and attractive alternative to playing in the rain-soaked UK!

We had a great time at Villa Miya and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful relaxing holiday in great accommodation.
The villa has everything you need and is the cleanest place we have stayed in. Brenda keeps it in excellent condition and is very helpful.
The pool and garden area are very well looked after and very nice to use. There is plenty of room for sunbathing and shade if you need it.
The owners are very nice and helpful. Communication is fast and very friendly.
Mandria has plenty of choice for eating out and there are numerous nice places near by.
A car isn't absolutely necessary if you want a really peaceful holiday but is useful for getting to lots of interesting places.
We can't wait until we can return next year.
A big thank you to Roger, Lindy, Brenda and the gentleman (we never saw him as we were out) who kept the pool so well.
A great place and a great holiday.
Kind regards
David and Orcilla

We had a lovely stay at the villa Roger and Lindy have made it a real home from home for visitors including people like Tony Two Sugars the pool cleaner and Brenda the cleaner who they employ as Ex-Pat locals. The area is really quite but a short walk from the local beach bar and about 10 minute walk from the local bars and tavernas.

A lovely villa in a peaceful location with a beautiful swimming pool (and a very cute resident lizard who lived behind the barbecue). The gardens are lovely and peaceful and the villa is well stocked with all your cooking and bedding needs and the pool was kept clean and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in this villa and the communication with the owners was first class - they kept us well informed and were very helpful regarding taxis and available car hire etc. The coloured lights in the pool are a great touch and really look well at night when sitting out. Although a car is not strictly necessary if you are just looking to chill out for your holiday I would recommend one if you want to go sightseeing. All the locals are very friendly and helpful and all in all you couldn't ask for a better holiday location. Try it - you wont be disappointed.

Just got back from Villa Miya where all the family had a fantastic time. Most days were spent relaxing round the pool, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. Adults could continue to enjoy the outside when children had enough of the sun and cooled off inside. My 4 year old likes to cool off by watching Minion movies on the TV (I liked this too- little bit of time for me!) having wifi in the Villa was great especially for our 14 year old (no explanation needed as to why I'm sure) The village of Mandria was a 10 minute stroll, where we enjoyed meals at a couple of the restaurants, especially Kentroikon- the people there are sooooo friendly & food was lovely. We wasn't able to arrange a late check out but Roger and Lindy tried their best to be accommodating and allowed us to leave our cases for a little while. Our flight was late back on the Sunday-but we had been talking to a man who calls himself Mr Paul who was lovely and allowed us to store cases at his and to use his apartment to freshen up- lovely man! Overall the Villa, Mandria and the people made this a wonderful holiday and a place we will definitely be returning to. Thanks.

We had a fantastic week staying at Villa Maya. The property was just as the description said. The owners responded quickly to any communications we had or problems that occurred. The pool was kept clean and there was a short walk to a local beach. We would happily recommend this property and certainly hope to return in the future.
