Excellent 2 bed/2 bath town house situated in Emba near Paphos and Coral Bay.

Overview

This self catering accommodation offers a home from home atmosphere, being located in an area of market gardens, with a quiet peaceful atmosphere amongst the orange groves. The local villages offer many amenities including Supermarkets, banks, shops and good quality bars & restaurants, whilst only 15 minutes away is the centre of Paphos and the excellent beach area of Coral Bay. This makes it a great base to explore Aphrodites Island and the attractions in the surrounding area. The climate is pleasant and warm, with temperatures varying between 60ºF to 90ºF, you can holiday on this beautiful island at any time of year and enjoy a relaxing break. A Cypriot warm and friendly welcome awaits you. There is a nearby supermarket and a bus service between Paphos Old Town and Coral Bay, but the use of a hire car is recommended for your convenience and for ease of seeing the Island and its historical sites.

House details
The small complex of apartments and townhouses are built to a very high standard, centred on the communial pool and sun terrace with sun beds. There is a communal wooden pergola with picnic tables and benches in the garden area. The house has its own allocated undercover parking space. The house has views to the coast and surrounding area.

The house has a patio leading from the lounge and balconies from each bedroom, with views over the pool and gardens and the orchards towards the sea at Coral Bay.

The house has been furnished to a very high standard. There are two large bedrooms (I double, 1 twin) with plenty of built in storage. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs with bath and shower and one downstairs with a shower. Both have WCs.

The spacious kitchen is equipped with everything you need for your stay. A dishwasher is included.

The lounge has a pair of comfortable 3 seater sofas. There is satellite TV (limited channels - mainly news) and you can always watch a DVD from the selection left in the apartment.

Car hire is strongly recommended to facilitate visiting the local area, and when considered against taxi fares to and from the airport, is not expensive. Cypriots drive on the right, a legacy from the islands historical links with the UK.


Local area
The town of Paphos is included in the official UNESCO list of Cultural Heritage sites. It is located on the Southwest coast, ranking as one of Cyprus’ most popular resorts combining a wealth of ancient sites, excellent properties and plenty of local flavour. Compared to other seaside towns like Limassol, Paphos exudes a much slower pace of life and has always been particularly popular with British visitors. Paphos is actually made up of two ‘twin-towns’. High on the hilltop, ‘Ktima’ is a typical large town with thriving local shops, taverns, interesting buildings, churches and museums. In contrast, ‘Kato Paphos’ is the tourist area, which has developed by the waterfront providing visitors and residents with a very long promenade lined with masses of shops and taverns. Side streets too are packed with bars, discos, clubs, restaurants and more shops, all patronised by locals and tourists alike.
There is plenty to explore and for superb beaches Coral Bay, only a 15 minute drive from Empa ranks as one of the best in the area. There are two nearby golf courses and plenty of sporting facilities and for the evenings there are a multitude of restaurants to choose from. Further afield there are the Troodos Mountains, Paphos Forest and Akamas for those that wish to enjoy the wilder side of Cyprus.

This townhouse set in the tranquil village of Emba just a few minutes drive from Paphos harbour. It is spacious and offers all the comforts of home. The kitchen is well equipped, the bedrooms spacious with air conditioning. The shared pool is just a few steps outside your room and is both very clean and inviting. We all enjoyed our stay at this residential complex and found the residents warm and friendly. We would not hesitate in returning to this complex and Paphos. A car is a must to explore some of what Cyprus has to offer.

We have stayed at the Elpiniki complex four times now and have enjoyed the warm relaxing atmosphere and friendliness of the people who both holiday here and live in the various town houses and apartments of the complex. On our last visit we stayed at this fine townhouse that had all the comforts of home and a bright and airy feel to it. The house is cleaned to a very good standard, has air conditioning a must in the warmer months, and comfortable beds. The complex is set in the quaint hilltop Emba village, there are a couple of bars a couple of restaurants and a large well stocked supermarket all within 10 minutes walk. A beautiful church is also in the village. Paphos town is only 10mins drive, a car is really needed if you want to get out and explore this wonderful island and it is well worth exploring! We are all looking forward to our return this great townhouse this August, there are some great restaurants and Vardas beach all within 10mins drive.

The apartment has remote control air-conditioning units for the summer and electric heaters for the cooler months. The two bedrooms and lounge have ceiling fans fitted. The patio outside the lounge has a patio set, whilst each upstairs balcony has a table and two chairs to sit at and enjoy the warm evenings. There is a covered parking area for your hire car.

I have retired from my primary job after 30 years as a civil servant and currently work in Fraud prevention at Slough Borough Council. My wife, Denise, works at a local Further Education college as a tutor. We have two grown up children.
