Family from Manchester, United Kingdom September 2018

The villa is well presented, clean and well-maintained. The facilities are, generally, adequate although we would have expected that each apartment would have a kettle. When we asked about this the explanation was that there was a coffee machine and a kettle in the lower apartment, and that they were for BOTH apartments. This meant that the people using the upper apartment had to come downstairs whenever they wanted to make a hot drink - even late at night or early in the morning, which was very inconvenient. We were surprised that there was no frying pan, and that the range of glasses was limited, although there seemed to be enough plates for twice as many guests. Most villas we have stayed in previously also had a microwave cooker and a toaster and these would have been useful as well. The wi-fi router sits in the upper apartment and when the connection dropped (t at least 8/9 times during our 2 week stay) the people in the lower apartment had no control and had to go up and ask for the router to be re-booted. If the top and bottom apartments were ever rented separately – or, particularly, if the lower apartment was rented by itself and no-one occupied the upper apartment they would presumably need to get the owners to attend when a reboot was required. Access to the villa was down a VERY steep access road. Had we arrived after dark I would have found this quite intimidating. The steepness of this road is not mentioned in the villa details. This also meant that it was not possible for us to walk even to the nearest restaurant as several members of our party were unable to manage the climb. The same was true of the steps to the beach. This is described as being 70 metres away, but there is no mention of the 100+ steps in that 70 metres. One attempt was enough to rule out using that route to the restaurant on the beach. In our opinion, this villa should have a ‘car recommended’ status, unless all members of the party are able to cope with steep walks. Whilst the sanitary facilities for the campsite are mentioned in the villa details, it was not clear, despite several attempts to clarify the situation, before we travelled, that this was actually the ground floor of the villa itself. We had come to the conclusion that it was the building next to the villa, (which seems to be the abandoned previous shower block.) As it turned out, this did not affect our enjoyment of the villa, but we would have preferred it if this had been made a little clearer. The area outside the villa had a table and benches, but only one sun lounger, which meant that it was impossible for more than one person at a time to spend any time relaxing there. There was no brochure for the villa, or any leaflets about local attractions. These would have been helpful in planning our time in Dubrovnik. Such things as bus and ferry timetables, information about local attractions such as museums, galleries etc. would have been very welcome. Overall the villas was a comfortable and pleasant place to stay and its location (apart from the steepness of the site) was what we had expected. A little more attention to some of the issues noted here would make the experience even better.

Our host Miho was charming and went out of his way to make our stay a memorable one. From picking us up at the airport to giving us a very helpful guided tour around the immediate location showing us the supermarket, ATM, beaches, public carparks and local restaurants. He was always on hand to give us any further information over the course of the week. The villa is set on a steep hillside providing the most amazing views and stunning sunsets. The pool, gardens and house function brilliantly for a family group like ourselves who choose to barbeque in some nights and eat out others. The villa is extremely well equipped and in close proximity to Dubrovnik, Cavat and Lokrum island all of which are well worth a visit.

Residence Lantoni was a beautiful luxurious villa with amazing views of the sea. It has all the amenities that you require. It has the most amazing pool with jacuzzi and sauna. Incredible hospitality shown by the owners. We had a great time and would happily rebook and recommend to all.

We stayed there in Septeber 2011 for our wedding with close family. The owners made us feel very welcome and organised a barbeque night for all our friends and family and even lent us their car as we were constantly fighting over the two we had. We had an unforgettable dream wedding at Villa Argentina in Dubrovnik, but what really made it an absolute dream is the next night with the guests at this villa! At the end of our stay the owners have also given us suveneirs and gifts, which was a very nice touch! If we ever go for a holiday in Croatia again, this is the only place we will be staying at, and we have been to a fair few places around the world and usually rented villas also, so we do know what we are talking about :)
