Modern, only recently completed, 240sqm, 4 double bed-rooms (two king, two twin beds), 4 bathrooms (of which 2 are en-suite), two stories house with several large terraces. One twin bedroom, with en-suite shower room and access to garden is on ground floor (plus a separate bathroom in hallway), on first floor there are three bedrooms, of which one en-suite master bedroom, with a double-shower, double-sink, bath, toilet and bidet), and one king-size bedroom, and a twin-bedroom, with a full bathroom. All bedrooms have a balcony (and AC too). On ground floor there is also a fully equipped, very modern kitchen with all appliances (microwave, 2 ovens, toaster, slicer, etc) and kitchen gadgets, 3 fridges/freezers + wine fridge. Huge wood-fired BBQ on large front terrace overlooking the bay. Large living room (with TV, satellite, DVD, fireplace, pull-out sofa-bed) and dining area. The house comfortably sleeps 8 (10 if sofa-bed is used), and we also have a baby-cot (and variety of children’s beach toys). There is Air Con throughout the house and all mod cons (washer-dryer, hair-dryers, etc). There is also a small garden where my mom has planted flowers and some vegetables!
The house is set amongst greenery, on a small peninsula overlooking a beautiful, tranquil bay (Zaton), about 10km north of Dubrovnik, the main city in southern Croatia (Dalmatia). Dubrovnik (20min drive/taxi ride) is a UNESCO world-heritage city and truly one of the most gorgeous cities in the world, with fabulous restaurants, bars, nightclubs and a wonderful summer festival. The house itself is only about 150m from the sea, within an easy stroll of the village beach, and within an 8 min walk to a wild beach on the backside of the peninsula on which the house is located. Dubrovnik airport is 40min drive.
Activities: the house is ideal for one or two families with children (or a group of friends) wishing for a quiet sea-side holiday with the possibility to go for excursions and day trips. The sea water in Croatia is exceptionally clear, ideal for long swims and playing in the water, and is often 23-26C warm (plus there are no jelly-fish unlike in rest of Med!). The village beach, (beaches in Croatia are exclusively pebbles or rocks), is only few minutes’ walk away, and the nearest “beach” which is under the house is a concrete paved path with access into the sea (which also benefits from shade). The back-side wild beach is a nature-lovers dream, with a dramatic, picturesque setting in between rocks (see pictures). The temperature in late July is typically warm to very warm, around 25C-35C. The village has a few restaurants, specializing in grilled fish and meats, also a pizzeria and a couple of cafes/bars along the promenade, but otherwise is very quiet and tranquil. On the other side of the bay, 3km away, is one of Croatia’s best restaurants, with a Michelin star. A car can be useful (and my car can be hired separately) as there are plenty of day-trips possible, whether to Dubrovnik (which is also reachable by bus or inexpensive taxi), other beaches nearby, or also Montenegro (which is 80km away and which boasts one of the most beautiful (southern) fjords in Boka Kotorska). One of my neighbours has a small motor-boat which can be hired (with him as captain at very reasonable rates) for day trips to the surrounding beautiful islands (a must!).
A beautiful, recently finished modern 4 BR/ 4 Bath house 100m from sea overlooking the bay of Zaton, 10km from Dubrovnik. Luxury, high-end house, qualitatively significantly above market standard.
