Villa overview - owner's description

Villa St Elias has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, 3 balconies, large terrace and private garden. Set out over 3 floors we can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people with car parking for 3 cars.

Beautiful modern five bedroom villa in Southern Croatia with spectacular sea and mountain views, situated in a peaceful location a few minutes walk from the harbourside town of Orebic, with its shops, cafés and restaurants and sandy beaches, which have been declared some of the best in Croatia.

The villa is situated at the base of Mount St. Elias, and offers spectacular panoramic views across the sparkling Adriatic sea with the island of Korcula visible in the distance and has the stunning backdrop of the mountain to the rear of the villa.

The bedrooms have access to one of the balconies and the living room leads to a large terrace, perfect for starting the day with an al fresco breakfast or for watching the sunset while enjoying a glass of the locally produced Peljesac wine.

The villa also has a barbecue area and large garden planted with a variety of fruit trees and is surrounded by unspoilt lush Mediterranean countryside.

This pretty town of Orebic was once the home of wealthy sea captains and sailors, who built beautiful houses along the coastline. The town is easy to get around on foot and still retains many links to its past with its attractive historical centre, marina and maritime museum.

There is a wide variety of restaurants and cafes with friendly service, serving great food (especially seafood) and famous local wines, as well as many shops and facilities that will cater for all your needs during your stay.

Dominating the scenery on the slopes of Mount St. Elias above Orebic there is a Franciscan Monastery (built 1470) that houses a small museum. After a short walk through the pine forests you are rewarded with unforgettable views over Orebic, and across the Peljesac channel to Korcula, Mljet and Lastovo islands.

The area around Orebic offers fantastic walking and cycling opportunities through unspoilt countryside that is still populated by hundred year old pine forests, cypress and almond trees. The coastline is made up of long sandy and pebble beaches with numerous small coves that have the shallow crystal clear waters of the Adriatic lapping the shore.

It's only a few kilometres along the coast to the village of Veganj which is Croatia's premier windsurfing location and only a 20 minute ferry ride from Orebic harbour to the island of Korcula which makes for a great day trip.

Lovely villa! Well-appointed and equipped. We had a great holiday and the locals were very helpful and friendly. Great views from the monastry and excellent local fish restaurant at Mirce, right at the end of the peninsula. Everyone very welcoming - well be back. Linda Shaw

Back (sadly) from Croatia! We had a fabulous time and felt we had seen some of the real Croatia. The house was perfect for our needs - the bedrooms worked out well and the terraces were a great extra living space. We found some lovely places to visit and eat at and are all now missing burek and squid! Thanks for letting us stay in your house - we had a wonderful family break and would love to return! Linda M

Caroline and Nigel Very comfortable accommodation for 10 with beautiful views and peaceful country sounds. Easy access for trips to Korcula, Dubrovnik, Split and Mljet. Korcula worth several trips by foot to the town and by car/bike to Lumbarda for good beaches and excellent Grk wine. Gentle walks from the villa along the lower slopes of the mountain to Karmen and on to the Franciscan monastry. Caroline and Nigel
