just to say thank you and your family so much for our wonderful holiday at the Beach House. We had a great time – the house is lovely, the setting perfect, and we really enjoyed exploring the surroundings – when we could drag ourselves away from Molunat! Dubrovnik is amazing, and we really enjoyed the arboretum at Trsteno, as well as the Boka Kotorska, and the Prevlaka peninsula. We ate twice at both the restaurants you recommended at Ljuca – lovely food, and beautiful surroundings. It was great to meet your mum, sister and grandmother – many thanks for their hospitality, and for your mum’s very kind presents! We’d love to come again next year – do let me know when the house might be free in the summer months. Very best wishes (and from our friends William and Dilys, who were very sorry to have to leave early!) Wendy Marshall
Beautiful Seaside House in Croatia
Date of Stay 02 June 2013
This was our first time in Croatia so all new experiences! Antonia and her family did everything possible to make our stay a pleasure, starting with meeting us at the airport and making sure we found the house easily. The house is delightful, with direct access to a private beach (rocky) with easy access into the crystal clear sea. Not suitable for very small children without supervision but great for swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing. The house is located on a bay so the sea is calm unless the winds are very high. We had a couple of windy days but swam perfectly happily, even when more exposed parts of the coast were far too choppy to go in. There are gently sloping sandy beaches at either end of the bay (2 minute walk) if you have very small kids. The kitchen is quite small but fully equipped and we managed to cook full meals for 4 adults. The 2 main bedrooms have a view of the sea and islands. Molunat is a quiet and very pretty village. A fair proportion of the houses are appartments/ small pensions but it doesnt have the feel of being a holiday camp - although perhaps later in the season (July/August) it is a lot busier with tourists. There are three bars (quiet, no loud music) and two small restaurants in the village, as well as a general store and a stand selling local vegitables. We ate at one restaurant, Monika, which was very good but beware the fish is expensive (but very fresh - out of the water that day). The other restaurant was just opening as we left. Gruda, the local town (also very small) is a 15 minute drive and has 2 medium sized supermarkets, a fish-monger, butcher, baker, bank/ATM, post office, excellent restaurant etc. Gruda is a working town for the local agricultural community. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful, combining rocky cliffs and headlands, farming in the river valley with Mediterranean garrigue on the high land. There are a few well-signposted walks a short drive away, and we spent a couple of happy afternoons walking from the village, exploring the very quiet local backroads and tracks. Easy to get to Dubrovnik (driving or by boat via Cavtat) also Kotor (Montenegro) - another historic centre. Dont miss the nearby watermill restaurant Vinica Monkovic. Mario, the co-owner, also offers wine tasting from his familys vinyard, and boat hire in Cavtat bay, as well as car hire (very much the easy option and good value). Very highly recommended!
A pearl at the Dalmation coast
We spent for the second time a wonderful week in this lovely peaceful beach house. It is beautifully located on the border of the sea with a splendid view. The house is well equipped and very clean. There is air-conditioning in each room, which is very useful regarding the climate over there. The owners are very kind and helpful. There is a lot to see in the neighbourhood or one can spend a beautiful day in and around the beach house. There are several good restaurants nearby. This is really a must for everyone who wants to visit the region of Dubrovnik.
This house is in a beautiful bay right on the water. The ability to just walk out your door and sit on the lounges or swim makes this so relaxing. The water is crystal clear and so safe. We have 2 girls and they loved paddling out in their little blow up boat and jumping off into the water. We enjoyed many cappuccinos and meals at the few local restaurants. We then went to sleep to the sound of the water lapping against the rocks. The house is great and the ability to go to Bosnia and Montenegro was a real bonus for us. We loved it. AUGUST 2012
We returned to The Beach House this summer for another wonderful week. The location is perfect - Molunat is a lovely, unspoilt village on a picturesque little bay south of Dubrovnik, but within easy driving distance of the lively port of Cavtat, Dubrovnik itself, and the fantastic Bay of Kotor in nearby Montenegro. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance of the house, and a small shop in the village for basic provisions. Cavtat is bustling with good restaurants, and there are two charming country restaurants (one is a working watermill) situated in a very pretty riverside setting in nearby Gruda, about 20 minutes drive from Molunat. The house is great, with its own seafront swimming and sunbathing areas, and very well-equipped. The sea was clean and warm (25 degrees at the end of August), and it is so lovely being able to step out on to the pretty, bougainvillea-laden terrace and immediately down to the waters edge. The owners of the Beach House - Kate Becir and her family, especially daughter Antonia and son-in-law Mario - could not be more kind and helpful, assisting with car and boat hire, and generally making sure that their visitors are comfortable. We could not recommend this house more highly - it is the perfect venue for a most enjoyable holiday. We hope to return again next year. August 2012
Just have come back from a relaxing week in Beach House Becir. We were two elderly couples taking a brake from our busy lives in a stunning environment of Molunat. House was just like it is presented in Antonias pictures, nothing is exaggerated. Clean and well equipped with air conditioning. The situation of the house is beautiful and peaceful, facing to the bay of Molunat, yet near restaurants and the small shop. On the sun deck you can bathe in the sun from early morning to almost sunset and take a dip into the crystal clear, turqoise Adriatic Sea. The weather was fine considering it was the last week of September. Lot of sunshine, daytime temperatures 25-28 celcius, sea was very warm, too. When arranging the trip I was in constant contact with Antonia and she answered my emails in a very prompt manner. And when we met in Cavtat while there, she matched the picture I got from our conversations - nice and beautiful and an honest young lady. If peace and relaxation is what you want from your holiday, I highly recommend this place. I dont know how bustling the village is in high season, but now that it was the last week of this season, Molunat was very peaceful and we sure got what we awaited from our vacation! All in all, Croatia is a stunning country with the flora, the sea, the mountains and the curvy roads. People are very nice and modest. Service is outstanding, yet not pushy, which appeals to our Nordic caracter. Thank you Antonia and thank your family! Im sure we will return soon! - Raija- September 2012
Dear Antonia, thanks for the hospitality, we enjoyed so much our stay in your villa and enjoyed the local wine. I will definetely consider coming back, it was really nice and quite here. Although we did quite a lot sightseeing around Dubrovnik, Montenegro etc, next time we will only relax and take it easy and enjoy this beautiful sea and view...

Wow! Renting this place was the best thing we could have done. The pictures do not say enough. We had a total of 6 people in the 3 bedrooms. AC in all the rooms was a plus. The view was spectacular! Bring your snorkel because we were able to snorkel right out back and it was amazing. A private walkway to your own little beach cove. A short walk down the street was an amazing restaurant that we dined at almost every night. The staff was amazing and we even invited them over for a drink. The house is about a 40 minute drive to Dubrovnik. To our surprise, in the opposite direction was Montenegro which was an even shorter ride. Perfect house for a group of friends, a family, or anyone that enjoys their own piece of paradise. Dubrovnik was WAY too crowded! You will definitely enjoy this place! Buy your groceries, beer, and wine from the local market and enjoy! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

03.09.2006"A dream holiday property if you want seclusion and to escape the commercialised living of to-days world. The local folk in Molunak were so welcoming and helpful, the local restaurant, cafe, bar and grocers shop. Antonia and her family were all fantastic and we enjoyed our meal with them all....they were perfect hosts and helpful on whatever we asked for. For how long it will remain so unspoilt we can only hope but "what a find" if this is your kind of holiday."

18.10.2005Basic, though fully equipped newish build house right on the coast, and I mean right on the coast in a village 34k south of Dubrovnik, Molunat. Molunat is a very quiet fishing village with, in season, a couple of bars and restaraunts and a small shop. (out of season you need to drive to Gruda, 15k away) The sea is on your doorstep, steps lead from the patio, 2 of the bedrooms and the lounge diner have patio doors on to it, right to the seas edge. Water was warm even in early Oct. If you want a quiet holiday it is perfect. The Becir family are wonderful, you coudn't ask for better hosts. Favorite restraunt was Famile Konoba Vinica, Meal, pudding wine and brandy around 20ukpds, it's through Gruda, follow the signs for the Mill and it's just on the bridge. Meat under the Bell a speciality, though the Beefsteak is excellent too. Between Molunat and Dubrovnik visit Cavtat, take a Glass Bottomed boat trip, and make rure you go to Dubrovnik by boat too. Dubrovnik on an evening is special, sit at one of the pavement cafes, enjoy a coffee and people watch. Croatia a wonderfil Country." Value: Excellent , Met expectations: Yes - satisfied , Recommend: Definitely , Overall: Excellent
