In Vodnjan you can visit the Basilica of St. Blaise with the highest church tower in Istria and an enviable collection of mummies. From the waterfront in nearby Fa?ana, a small fishing village, tourist boats leave daily for the Brijuni National Park. If you head south, you will arrive in Pula, where there are many monuments from the past, such as the Roman amphitheater. In the north of Istria, you can see picturesque medieval towns, such as Motovun, where an international film festival is held every year at the end of July. As you drive along the Istrian peninsula, you will come across many wine roads and local taverns offering local delicacies. It is certainly a good way to get acquainted with local traditions and customs.
