2 Bedroom with Seaviews Diklo Apartment - Sleeps 6

Overview

This is a nice modern two bedroom apartment with sea views in the village of Diklo. I moved to Croatia several years ago and I'm happy to offer suggestions for restaurants, beaches, tours, and day trips around Zadar and beyond. The closest beach is 100 meters away and the old town of Zadar is just 15 minutes by car.

Diklo, the seaside village
Diklo is considered the elite area of Zadar. It's a village dating back to the 10th century. If you're looking for an old stone village on the seaside of the Adriatic, this is it! The sunsets are wonderful. In Summer, experience the beautiful sunsets on the water in front of the apartment. Enjoy a glass of wine and sit on the terrace or at the nearby marina. There are numerous seaside restaurants, cafes, markets, and a newsstand walking distance from the apartment. There is also a sports ground and tennis courts two minutes away. The Falkensteiner group of hotels in Borik is also nearby and offers everything a tourist might want to enjoy...saunas, massage, pool, bars, restaurants, jet skis, etc. Fun for young and old alike.

Zadar, the old city
A visit to the walled Venetian city of Zadar is a must! Walk along the narrow traffic-free marble streets, through the cute alleyways lined with bars and restaurants, and along the Zadar waterfront. You can take a taxi or the bus which leaves from Diklo to Zadar every half hour. In Zadar, you can choose from one of the many tours offered to visit the islands of Kornati. Each tour is somewhat different, so ask for specifics. i.e. How big is the boat? Where does it stop? What is included in the price? etc. You can also book tours at the hotel in Borik, these may be a bit more expensive but they are tried and tested. If you enjoy nightlife and party boats, be sure to check out the nightclub called The Garden, which is located on top of the old stone walls of Zadar. Also, visit Petrcane's cafe and bar which hosts popular Summer music festivals for UK and Croatian clientele.

Our stay at the Adria Mare apartment was great. The place was very clean and we had everything we needed. The view of the sea and island from the patio was beautiful. The owner took great care of us and gave helpful advice on where we should go in and around Zadar. Diklo is a cute coastal Croatian village. Its a great place for families with nice restaurants and the crystal clear blue sea is just a block away. We would definitely come back here again. And we loved the little dogs....Max and Luna!!!

The property is fine, and Diklo is a nice village. The Taverna on the corner is excellent and the sea is close by, just dont expect beaches, maybe take lilos to lay on the concrete! The facilities are just as described, shame not to have a washing machine, but towels are provided for use in the apartment. Adrianas two dogs and kitten are very sweet.

A fantastic apartment in a lovely quiet part of Croatia, excellent access to buses to Zadar and a car hire place just around the corner. Fantastic resturants and bars locally and I must say the food in Croatia is lovely! Adrianna could not have been more helpful and helped make the entire stay perfect. Will definitely be recommending this place to anyone we know who is thinking of visiting the lovely country!

Fantastic apartment in a perfect position. Everything you need is on your doorstep without being too touristy. The apartment was exactly as described with only a 2 minute walk to the sea where you could happily spend an afternoon sunbathing and swimming. I would definitely recommend this apartment- perfect for families and couples.

The apartment is very good and is exactly as described. Very close to the sea. Stone beach is 10 minutes walking distance, and beautiful sand beaches of Nins Lagoon are 15 minutes by car.

We had a great time in the apartment and enjoyed its location close to the sea. The descriptions are accurate and the owner was extremely helpful, giving good advice on places to visit and where to find essentials. My only slight issue was that we were a family of 5, and whilst beds generally were fine the sofa bed (needed if any more than 4 are occupying) was as solid as a plank. I should also mention that the shower curtain is more intelligent than me and won our little battle every day. I would happily recommend this apartment to others. It is a lovely area to visit, crystal clear seas and beautiful mountains. what more could you want at such a reasonable price

Lovely spacious apartment. At the bus terminus for Diklo so no problem getting into town. We would have no problem recommending this or going back ourselves.

We were very happy with the property and would be more inclined to say very good rather than good but the options dont permit that (and excellent is just a bit high to selec t). The property was in a very good location in line with the way it was advertised. The owner does have some "lively" pets (two small dogs and a cat) which wasnt a problem for us but might need to be a consideration for somebody whos not so keen on pets. (We actually became quite fond of and entertained by them!). If we ever decide to stay in Diklo again we would definitely consider staying at the Adria Mare again.

Overall property was fine and the owners very friendly. One or two facilities could do with updating: TV reception very poor advertised washing machine not available but owner very kindly did a load of washing for us. Diklo very nice but while we were there we experienced quite a bit of heavy traffic noise as the house was near a building site. Handily placed for an excellent bus service into Zadar and very beautiful scenery.
Owner reply:

Thanks for your review. I will updat e the website with regards the washing machine ... an oversght. The building next door has been completed and no more work noise. TV reception is now fine as we have updated to terrestial satellite.

WE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME AT YOUR VILLA. YOU REALLY MADE US FEEL AT HOME. YOU FELT LIKE A SISTER, WAS QUITE SAD WHEN I LEFT REALLY. I/WE WILL DEFINATELY BE BACK NEXT YEAR, BUT MAYBE WE WILL GO TO ZRCE!!!! I MISS YOUR LITTLE MAXI AND THE CAT AND LUNA. DID NOT FEEL LIKE LIKE STAYING AT A VILLA. MORE LIKE A GOOD FRIENDS HOUSE..THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR HOLIDAY SO MEMORABLE, I NEEDED THAT SO MUCH.... THE STRESS IN MY LIFE JUST DISSOLVED... LOTS OF LOVE. ERNIE, IAN AND JENNIE X X X
A great apartment with a wonderful terrace and views to the sea. Located in a small village atmosphere Diklo within Zadar city limits. Closeby to all facilities. On arrival owner provided bottled water, fruit, coffee, sugar, tea, milk, juice, flowers on the table, so that we could crash from the travel and not rush to the store first thing. Every clean and like new. If you want a quiet vacation in a village with beaches close by and ability to travel to the old town by bus to enjoy your evening with bars, nightclubs and outdoor music terraces. The owner can give you lots of information about where to go and what to do while in the area.Speaks English natively.Paul Hickey and friends.
