executive 3 Bedroom cottage in Canada

Overview

We have been visiting Sparrow Lake for the last 30 years. We fell in love with this calm, but fun filled lake from the first time we got there. For the first 13 years we used to rent a near by cottage, but as our family grew, we needed more space and bought the one we have now. My kids love fishing and water sports (skiing, wakeboarding). Sparrow Lake has it all.
It is on Trent Severn Waterway system, which means, you can travel to other lakes by motorboat. We are located 3 locks away from Georgian Bay and 2 locks away from Lake Simcoe. My kids love the boat trip days. You can visit an exotic restaurant on the docks by going through the North lock, or you can spend hours swimming at the sand banks right beside your boat, docked on the sand, if you travel through the South Lock.
Environmentally, Sparrow Lake is a very clean lake. The abundance of fish and wild life serves as solid proof. The wild rice, that grows in the lake is natural to it and serves as a natural filtration system. The lake has many minerals and its waters are good for your skin and hair (leave the hair conditioner at home when staying at our cottage)
The short drive (only 1 1/2hrs) from Toronto makes Sparrow Lake very popular. There are no other lakes of the same quality located so close to Toronto.
Sparrow Lake is located in the middle of several towns with hospitals, shopping and entertainment. There is a wildlife centre 15 min. away from the cottage a very trendy, must to see, Muskoka store.
It is only 15 min. drive to Town of Gravenhurst, where you can go on a cruise around 3 lakes, shop, visit craft shows, antique boat or car shows, farmers market on Wednesday, museums and even Old Opera house concerts.
In 20-25 min. you can go golfing at one of the best Golf Courses in Muskoka, Taboo visit Casino, or Town of Bracebridge, with more shopping, best mini Golf we have been to, amusement/theme Park, movie theatre and restaurants.
30 minutes drive south of our cottage will take you to Town of Orillia, on Lake Simcoe, where more shopping and entertainment is waiting you. There is plenty to do even on a rainy day.

What is so great about this particular property?

What is so great about this particular property?

The cottage is situated on a beautiful flat land under the shade of several mature Clump Birch trees. The magnificent South East exposure enables you to enjoy one of the most picturesque Muskoka views of the lake at all times. Enjoy it from the oversized patio, while resting or having BBQ, or from the kitchen and living room, while cooking or watching TV. It is child safe and friendly place. You never lose site of your kids.
The private waterfront is approximately 150’ (45m) wide and only 70’ (23m) away from the cottage. There is a sandy beach area on the shore for play and a nice large swimming area along the 60’ (20m) dock. The lake entry is very shallow from the shoreline and gets deeper at the end of the dock.
The fire pit, constructed on the beach, will provide warm bond fires at night for you and your company, making your stay more memorable.
The canoe, paddle boat and aluminum rowing boats are provided for the guests use at no extra charge. A good size storage shed holds life jackets, fishing rods, ores, badminton, volleyball, sand toys, patio furniture and other things useful for the outside fun and pleasure.
The patio furniture is available for use on the beach or on the deck.
The driveway can accommodate up to 6 cars, parked off the road.
Like walking or biking? Paved and unpaved country roads can give you hours of hiking or biking. The traffic near the cottage is very small. We are almost at the end of the street of the peninsula. There are plenty wooded areas near by for the nature lovers.
On a rainy day, you can spend time inside the cottage. Satellite TV, VCR, DVD player, stereo, radio, gorgeous fireplace, board games, etc. will keep you entertained. The kitchen is very large and can sit up to 8 people comfortably. The living room accommodates more.
There are 3 bedrooms, decorated in a country style. One bedroom has two single size beds, the other two bedrooms furnished with two Queen size beds each. One bedroom is large enough to hold an additional rollaway bed, available for renters.
The 3 piece washroom, includes vanity cabinets with sink, toilet and bathtub with shower. There is an additional shower stall, sink and toilet in the loundry room.
A heavy duty washing machine and dryer make the stay of a family or a large group of people extra convenient.
Linens are provided for the guests, as well as dishes, cutlery, pots, pens and other utensils. Dishwasher, toaster, microwave, and mixer, fridge, stove with oven, coffeemaker and other kitchen necessities including BBQ on the patio are all available for the guests.
This well equipped and cozy place provides convenience of a city home in a cottage country.

We took into consideration comments of our past guests and added Queen comfortable beds instead of the old singles and double beds.

The location is fantastic and the owners very friendly and helpful. We had a very enjoyable week at the property. The facilities in the villa were very clean and well prepared ready for our arrival. The lake is wonderful and very peaceful. The provision of a rowing boat, a pedalo and a canoe was really good and our children enjoyed using them. We also saw some wildlife at the villa, a racoon and otters. Coming from a big city that was very special for us. Inside the villa the main living area is very spacious and fairly comfortable. The owners cover their sofas (there are 3) to protect them, which shows the care they take with their property. Our only criticism would be the dishwasher didn't clean the dishes very well! The decor also we found a bit old fashioned (country-style I suppose) but we could live with that for a wonderful week by the lakeside.
Owner reply:

Taking into consideration the comments from the tenants, we replaced the dishwasher to a brand new one and changed the beds and mattresses. We now have two queen beds with new mattresses and two single beds with new mattresses as well. The dishwasher is brand new.
