For après ski the traditional Bansko tavern ("Mehana"), with their exceptional charm and style offer local atmosphere with their cuisine and good selection of Bulgarian wines. Most of the local "Mehanas" even offer live folk music. A visit or two to these is a must! Discos and night clubs work without time limit, and usually close early in the morning.
As the cost of living is very cheap in Bulgaria, your money will go several times further here than in skiing resorts in other parts of Europe.

This apartment really is lovely and good value for money (lots of space). You can walk across the road and ski straight down to the Gondola. The shuttle bus service is also very efficient if you don't fancy the ski road. The internet had not yet been connected when we stayed (one unhappy teenager!) but the engineer was sorting this on the day we left. Facilities on site were good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside is if you want to visit the town on a night - the hill gets longer, steeper and darker as the week goes on!
