Crowds at music festival

Believe the hype, as Croatia headlines the European festival scene. Come summertime, this corner of the Balkans buzzes with a mishmash of melodies often against impressive backdrops. So, grab your glowsticks, as we've lined up 5 of the best music festivals around.

1. INmusic festival

INmusic festival descends upon Zagreb every June. Praised as 'Europe's best-kept secret' by NMEINmusic's legendary lineups have put it on the map. Its 13-year history boasts a highly acclaimed lyrical alumnus, featuring Kings Of Leon,  Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine, Arcade Fire plus many, many more.

2. Love International

Love International returns to Tisno to do what it does best and that my little music aficionados, is beat n baseline belters. A must-go if that's your jam, but to be honest, we'd equally go just for the scenery. The small-scale dance-based festival boasts a beautiful cove-like backdrop sheltered by lush forestry.

3. Ultra Europe Festival

Dance on down to Ultra Europe Festival for its intoxicating lights and all-round electric atmosphere. This banging festival has been hailed as Europe's most famous electronic festival, which pulls global EDM, house and techno music fans towards Split each summer.

4. Sonus Festival

Set sail for the Pag Island, dotted off the west coast of Croatia. Its very own Zrce beach is home to a techno beat festival which is hard to beat. Expect the best of bass-style music, plus a pulsating array of real homegrown talent.

5. Outlook Festival
