The Phi Phi islands (Ko Phi-Phi Don) off the coast of Krabi are seriously iconic in Thailand and stunningly beautiful with white powder sand beaches and clear turquoise waters. Phi Phi has a laid back atmosphere and is a great place to rent a long boat and try some snorkelling or learn to dive. Leonardo DiCaprio also made Maya Bay beach world famous after The Beach was set there!
Home to hundreds of amazing temples, Chiang Mai is a city in northern Thailand set within the mountainous forests. Although it is a place of relaxation and calm, there are also a wide choice of activities on offer such as white water rafting and zip lines through the trees – so if you’re feeling like some adrenalin fuelled fun be sure not to miss out on Chiang Mai.
It may be one of the busiest cities in the world but with awesome temples, bustling markets and Chinatown streets full of local dishes and delicacies it really has to be experienced! There’s literally everything from luxury malls and floating restaurants to crazy nightlife AND it’s the ideal place for a spot of shopping on your holiday.
Khao Sok National Park
Believed to be over 160 years old, the area of the national park of Khao Sok is thick with jungle, huge limestone formations and steep waterfalls. Incredible views make this a very magical place where you may also spot wildlife including monkeys and snakes and you can enjoy night time boat safaris! If you want to fully embrace the scenery and surrounding nature, stay in a floating lake hut, wake up to the sounds of the calling gibbons and take a morning swim in the lake!
South of Chiang Mai, Lampang remains relatively undiscovered but is home to some impressive temples and the Thai Elephant Conservation centre. Visit the elephants at the centre to learn about their habitat, help to feed, clean and wash them and take an elephant ride through the jungle if you wish.
A favourite for family holiday thanks to its peaceful atmosphere and chic resorts. Hidden beaches, secluded bays and bungalow style accommodation can make Koh Phangan feel remote enough but if you like the peace and quiet be aware that for one week a month thousands of people flock here for the well-known full moon parties.
The original beach resort of Thailand is now a combination of city and sea with bustling street markets, bars and restaurants for you to enjoy. As well as the high end hotels in Hua Hin, there are also an amazing selection of private villas here if you’d like some luxury in your own space.
