5 Best Theme Parks In Portugal
A holiday to Portugal can entail many things, but when it comes to a family holiday, nothing is sure to put a smile on the kids’ faces faster than a day out at a theme park.
Question is, which one?
Well we’ve done some digging and come up with 5 of the best theme parks in Portugal, and we did it just for you.
Aren’t we the sweetest?
1 Dino Parque in Lourinhã
As the name suggests, this awesome park is dedicated to the animals of Jurassic Park fame; dinosaurs.
It is the largest outdoor museum in Portugal, and allows you to walk-through life-size models of these glorious creatures without fear of being eaten…well, hopefully, we wouldn’t like to make assumptions, if Jurrassic Park taught us anything it’s that dino parks come at a price…
Anyway, once your children have had the delights of discovering these beasts out in the open, there’s an entire indoor section complete with skeletons, fossils and a shop.
Honestly, it’s roarfully good.
2 Kidzania in Amadora
This theme park is seriously cool and quirky. Suitable for age ranges of 3-15, this theme park is all about letting kids play the adult in what is essentially a mini city.
Kids can choose from over 60 professions that any real city would need (airport workers, factory workers, a job in the press perhaps) and during these ‘careers’ they earn money. Oh yes, Kidzania even has its own economy where the kids learn the value of cash, deposit their earnings into banks and then use it to spend on anything from renting a car to going to the supermarket.
Super neat right? Not only is it teaching kids about the real world, it’s giving them absolute freedom in a safe setting.
It’s like someone finally made a course called adulting. Now where was THAT when we were children?
3 Mega Campo in Mafra
This one’s great for the more rough and tumble of your brood. For children as young as 3 and upwards, Mega Campo offers everything from paintball to inflatable playgrounds to archery games, it has a wealth of activities that will be great for the whole family and can even cater for birthday parties and school trips too.
Take a look, they truly have a great selection of games and activities so your main problem will be choosing which one to go for.
And let’s face it, unlike Monopoly, at the end of the day you’ll be able to look each other in the eye without any festering resentment.
4 Karting Almancil in Almancil
This is a great way to spend a day out together and is full of fun for the whole family. There’s mini courses and safe cars for children as young as 3, but also junior karting tracks as well as off roading buggies and courses for the adults.
If you’re not a foot to the floor sort of soul though then not to worry, there’s also trampolines, mini boating and climbing walls!
Go on you little thrill-seeker you!
5 Aqualand in the Algarve
For those who feel they should have been born with flippers rather than feet, this one’s for you. It honestly has everything a water baby might want, from adrenalin-fuelled slides to massive open pools and a specialist child area too.
Splash, float and frolic with abandon with your family, it’s findishly good!
