I knew what to expect from this property, having stayed at Golden Ancharage 25 years ago. Much of the apartment had been redone, with new fridge, new flooring, new furniture - all you could ask, and the price was right. Tina the manager is excellent - available, but doesnt bug you. If you go, try travel by bus to Bridgetown and Oistins fish market, and up and down the coast. Present bus fare is $1.50 BDS or 75 cents US. Local drivers are very considerate if you rent a car. Your licence plate will have an H which identifies you. Apatment is very close to shops and the sea. Have fun.

The property pretty much lived up to expectation. It is in a good location close to central Holetown and the beach. The apartment is fairly basic but that is what we both expected and wanted so was fine. Tina, the property manager, was wonderful and kept in contact throughout our holiday to see if everything was ok and even organised our transfers to and from the airport. As this was our first time renting an apartment in Barbados instead of staying in a hotel, I was worried about securtiy. It turned out to be good and I had no safety fears whatsoever. If you want a relaxing holiday with easy access to the beach, a good choice of restaurants and beach bars (surfside beach bar was fab) in adequate and fairly priced accom, then this place is the one for you.

From booking to departing (woefully!) we were treated with high professionalism and warmth. Joyce answered all of my inquiries, as did Tina, who i had the chance to speak to on several occaisions while we were there. She was lovely and quick to check in on us. Peter, who drove us from the airport and back again, is a wonderful gentleman who loves his country and treats his charges with tender care. The apartment was everything we expected. Its clean, well equipped, and perfect for a couple, or even a couple with a child. Sonia, who kept the place squeaky clean each week (the towels and bedding smelled wonderful!) and was kind and sweet. Everything you need is within walking distance, or a bus ride, and although the beach just behind the beach Club is being changed into a boardwalk, the Holetwon beach entrance, just behind the Post office is just a brief stroll for the apartment. In the morning (6 am for us!), take your coffee outside to the little gated patio and enjoy the friendly birds and watch people strolling by, most of whom will call out "Good morning!". The property is situated near the beach as informed, great location. It has everything you need for the holiday, it was cleaned regularly and furnished nicely. It was near the shops and everything is within walking distance. The regular phone calls from the property manager was appreciated, Tina is very helpful and always pleasant. I would definately rent it again and it may be very soon. The only downside of the property is it is next to a busy road and the traffic noise continues late into the night, saying this the air conditioning overrides a lot of the traffic noise. Possible remedy is to put in windows on the road side. This would then make it an excellent venue. Lovely accomadation for positioning and cost it is fab. Would recommend to anyone. Bus stop is just outside the door and they are very regulary allowing easy access to the whole island.

Golden Anchorage at 8 Flamboyant Avenue in Holetown, Barbados is one of dozens of little condos rented out by owners. This particular one was managed by Tina, who checked in as soon as we arrived and made calls throughout our stay. The little apartment is all a couple needs if you are on a budget and dont mind cooking your own meals. The SuperCentre is close by and there are lots of restaurants if you get tired of cooking. There is a fruit and vegetable stand right at the end of Flamboyant Avenue too. Also, about 50 steps away is a 24 hour medical centre. We walked to the beach where you can just sit, swim or take boat rides, do pretty much anything really. This little apartment is on the bus route too, and Barbados is really easy to get around. The people are very friendly and will help you find your way. There are also enough buses. Most attractions will send a van to pick you up. Golden Anchorage supplies a driver to pick you up at the airport, and take you back for an extra charge. We thought this was a very good idea. Everything in the apartment was clean and there were lots of towels. Each week our sheets and towels were laundered and they smelled so good! Each morning at 6, we took our coffee outside on the little gated porch, from where we watched lots of birds and smelled the lovely fragrances of the abundant flowers. Just a short walk up the street and the italia Cafe, there is free WIFI. You can use the Beach House Pool and Tennis Courts too. “Our Holiday” by ysguborwen, Pwllheli, United Kingdom Reviewed June 18, 2012 Jen and I stayed at here in January/February 2012 [28 days] The property was as the photos and description on the Webb. We found the place clean and tidy with a taste of Barbados reflected in the furniture and décor and had ALL that we needed to enjoy our stay and the condo was as described on the web. The aircon in the bedroom (only) is a bit noisy but we soon got used to it. [it appeared to work out at about 1 x Barbados dollar and hour (£0.33 GBP approx)on max cool. The en-suite shower/wc has been renovated in the recent past and all the fittings/tiling are modern and worked well. The photo of the pool is at the beach club across the road [about 500 yards] We were left an entrance card for access to the Beach Club and the sunbeds and loungers around the pool > a great bonus as they are free. No 8 is on the first avenue set a couple of hundred yards back from the main road and there is a hedge and an open green between the condo and the main road. At the front it is set back about 60 yards from the avenue with lawns and gardens between. The condo is handy for the supermarket at Holetown and also the bars and eateries in the area and all within easy walking. Tina, the property manager, was helpful and called/phoned a few times and responded to our questions readily and was on the end of the phone when we wanted to ask re supermarket-buses and such. Absolutely excellent value for money, perfect location, excellent accommodation, as described - would recommend to friends and family without a doubt. Tina was just wonderful, tending to our every need, and giving some great tips and advice about the island, and Joyce was excellent with contact and information throughout the booking process. The island itself is just beautiful, but beware, very very expensive!! The supermarket sells beef from america (BDS7.20), which was cheaper than a punnet of cherry tomatoes (BDS8.49)... we couldnt believe it!! Restaurant wise, our favourite was The Mews, excellent food, and the bar afterwards was cosy, and the ambience was just wonderful. Daytime bar, and happy hour drinks while watching the sun go down, you cannot beat Zacchios, Trinny is the best sunbed owner in town, and Andrew is also a really nice lad. For watersports and boat rides, to see the turtles, head for the beach and ask for Mark, he will be around somewhere. He wont rip you off, and the guys who work for him are so helpful, and friendly. All in all we had a fantastic time in Holetown, and the property location, and cleanliness made for a most enjoyable stress free time. Thank you villarenters.

Stayed here over Xmas 2009 with 2 friends & had a fantastic time. The apartment is quite basic but was perfect for our needs. Great location, very quiet & peaceful & everything is within easy walking distance. Beach was lovely if you walked down away from the rocks about 5 mins away we sat outside Zaccios where you can rent sunbeds & parasols & the food was good there too, supermarket 5 min walk - expensive but well stocked, lots of restaurants all around Only gripe about the apartment was that the only air con was a noisy dated unit in the bedroom which meant that the lounge was incredibly hot & as there were 3 of us, 1 person had to sleep in the lounge. Otherwise it was great. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a budget holiday in Barbados

This apartment ( In the UK it would be referred to as an end of small terrace BUNGALOW - 4 from memory ) was exactly what we expected of it. Excellent value for money, close to where we wanted to be ( beach, shops and restaurants ) in a pleasant location, with lawns around it, It was clean, with maid service regular ( very nice lady called Sonia ) and making appointments by telephone in advance ). Humming Birds actually visit the plants outside the veranda, and Lizards are in the trees outside ( do not come in the house ). The Property Management service was excellent, being contacted by telephone very frequently by Tina and Steve during the visit. Unfortunately we were out when Tina visited, as she was extremely pleasant and friendly, as well as professional, and even without this we became friends, as she has such a pleasant manner! In conclusion, I guess that the price was about right for the accomodation, although for more modern and spacious buildings the cost would be far higher due to the brilliant location. The Sunset Crest village is quiet and convenient, with even 2 Medical Centres right on it, and almost next to this property! We found it very useful on one occasion, so its worth noting. We would recommend it to our friends in the above manner, and are planning to visit again next year if prices and our finances remain the same!!! G. Girdlestone
