St Anton is one of the most challenging ski resorts in Europe, combining some of the best on and off-piste skiing in the northern Alps. As Austria's leading ski resort, St Anton has earned itself a well-deserved spot in the world's top 5 ski resorts and the Austrian Alpine apres ski is nothing short of legendary.
Although situated at the relatively low altitude of 1305m, St Anton is the recipient of snow from three separate weather fronts, boasting one of the best snow histories in the Alps. There's 276km of pistes and additional off piste (including Lech and Zurs) are loaded with the white stuff. Wedged into a deep valley, St Anton is suited more for the intermediate and advanced skiers owing to the steep gradient of the slopes (you'll often find that red runs here are more difficult than the ones in France).
And you can't talk about St Anton without mentioning the apres ski, starting early and hard – and it's not for the faint hearted! Bars such as the Moosewirt and Krazy Kangaroo put on a no-holds barred apres, with shots, steins, lederhosen and plenty of cheesy Euro-pop – perfect after a hard day on the slopes. It's charming yet utterly unique!
One of Chalet Diamond's highlights is its flexible approach to catering, providing guests with a wide variety of choices whether they fancy fully-catered, part-catered or a self-catered chalet.
The chalet's hosts all enjoy cooking and take pride in what they serve. While they're not necessarily qualified chefs, all have good experience of dinner party cooking and many of them will have attended well-regarded cookery schools to ensure the highest calibre of staff (and food!) possible.
If choosing the fully catered or part catered option, you can be sure of good home-cooked food served by our specially selected chalet hosts. Focussing on good, hearty food that will keep you full of energy on the slopes, menus will be varied and may include local dishes as well as the more traditional UK favourites such as roasts, lasagne or casseroles.
Chalet Diamond likes to create an informal approach to breakfast and evening meals so that you can fully relax, unwind and enjoy eating at your own pace at a time to suit your group. Fully Catered Holidays include:
- Champagne & Canapes on your first evening
- Cooked breakfasts (bacon, egg, tomato & mushrooms), fresh croissants & local bread with selection of jams, cereal, muesli, yoghurts, fresh fruit, filter coffee & tea (6 days – simple continental breakfast available on host day off)
- Freshly-baked cakes for afternoon tea with local bread & selection of jams, coffee, tea and hot chocolate (7 days)
- Pre-dinner canapes served with house wines (6 days)
- 3-course evening meal served with various dinner wines, cheese course and fresh coffee and mints to finish (6 days)
If you have any specific dietary requirements or a yearning for dishes in particular, just provide us with as much notice as possible and every effort will made to accommodate you! Added extras (such as additional ski gear and drinks) are available - please enquire for details, but do be aware that two weeks notice is often needed for some requests.
