Lovely 2 bedroom, waterside villa on the popular south finger of Jolly Harbour

Newly decorated 2 bedroom villa in a great location on the popular South finger of the Jolly Harbour Golf and Marina Complex, being just minutes from the stunning beach and a short walk to all the other facilities the Jolly Harbour complex has to offer.
From restaurants and bars, to shopping, olympic size swimming pool, tennins, squash, 18 hole golf course, beauty salon, internet cafe and numerous water sports; there is something for everyone.

Downstairs our villa has a brand new kitchen, dining area and lounge with cable tv and dvd player.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, fitted wardrobes and a brand new ensuite shower room.

The second bedroom has twin beds, fitted wardrobes and brand new ensuite shower room.

The villa has a large extended deck with 2 sun loungers and outside dining area for 4 people.

It has air conditioning throughout and there are also ceiling fans in both bedrooms and the lounge.

Recently stayed in 225D. We booked directly with the owner. The description of the property is inaccurate and lead to our disappointment when we arrived for a 4 week stay. It is stated that the kitchen and bathrooms are new but i would dispute this. The oven and fridge have been painted but still look shabby. The bottom of the oven is very rusty. The fridge leaks water inside. The kitchen units look replaced but were not fitted well. In the bathroom the hand basins and tiling look like they were recycled from the old bathroom. The water in the 2nd bathroom shower is barely a drip. The floor tiling in the whole villa is badly marked and never looks clean( I blamed the cleaner for this before I saw how long she spent cleaning then I realised that there was nothing she could do about it). The settee cushions are stained. The downstairs living area wall and ceiling Artex has had some major damage to it and the repair is pretty obvious.
Having said all that we still had a great holiday in Jolly Harbour, I just wish the owner would sort out the decor and replace the beds as they are ancient, or stops stating that the villa is recently redecorated/refurbished when is doesnt look like it.

In reply to your review the kitchens and bathrooms are now 2 years old. White goods quickly rust in this environment and the fridge freezer has been repainted. If the shower head has scaled up reducing flow then the guest should have reported it to the maid or our managing agent and it would have been dealt with. The house tiles are original and fit for purpose. The bathroom tiles are new and are 'Travertine' which has a 'rustic effect' - these tiles are very expensive but perhaps our guest has not seen this type of tile before? The settee cushions are zip on covers and machine washable - again if these have been stained or marked by guests if it is brought to the maids attention they would have been dealt with.Where repairs have been made to textured ceilings it is not always possible to match the existing with invisible repairs - the local builders do their 'best'.We have many repeat clients in this villa - it is probably rhe best one available in this location and always gets good reviews - especially in regard to the bathrooms and kitchen, if any problems are brought to the attention of the maid or our agent they are dealt with as soon as possible.

28 June 2013 Villa 225D Jolly Harbour, Antigua Without hesitation, we have just booked our third successive year at Villa 225D, which is so well positioned it helps to make our repeat visits most equally enjoyable, year after year. We have been going to Antigua for, we think, the best part of 15 years and we have always rented in Jolly Harbour. We are quite experienced in being able to recognise the good and the bad points in any of the villas in which we have stayed (the second one we went to, we checked in after our flight in from London and we needed to only walk around the inside of the place with a few cursory glances to return to our luggage on the buggy before we had unloaded it and to go back to the Centre and say that we were not prepared to stay in that villa). Because we know the layouts, and that they are really very spacious, not just for ourselves but on one occasion with our Son and family of three kids, they have to be clean. We expect them to be a little worn in places because successive renters tend to live differently and we have found some have little respect for other peoples’ property. Villa 225D is not without a couple of failings. Earlier this year, the shower control in the second bathroom had seen better days, but when that and in February 2013 we found the connection for a waste fitting in the hand basin in the other bathroom was disconnected, the Managers of the property, HBK, got a lovely chap suitably called Romeo, round within a few hours of us mentioning the problems, and rectified the fault. So, like any other HBK Managed property, if one does have a problem, do not stick with it, and then get home with an unhappy memory, get on with the complaint and it would be very rare for it not to be rectified within the same day. The other thing about villa 225D in terms of location, is the occupants on either side have always been exceedingly pleasant. The owners tend to let to friends and therefore, there is no noisy revelry when the sun goes down, or when renters return to the villas and let off further steam, prior to falling into bed. We have never met the Holloran family, but our bookings have always been reliable and they react to our odd constructive criticism. If you are looking for 5-star accommodation, and a maid service you feel you have to get up for every morning to give them space if you happen to be on the early rota, then we would suggest you go somewhere else and pay an awful lot more money. If you want 3 or 4-star accommodation with 5-star back up service, and are happy to keep your own mess tidy for three or four days at a time before regular cleaning top to bottom is done, then we would advise villa 225D is equal, at least, if not better, than the others available on the same sort of basis. If this critique were to influence you, avoid the dates when we go because we book ahead and you won’t get in! R & D, Surrey
