The apartment is part of an exclusive development of just 4 apartments (2 ground, 2 upper). It offers 2 en-suite bedrooms which sleep 4 & a sofa bed in the lounge There is a long open plan, lounge/reception area with kitchen and French doors to allow access to the large veranda area. Full air-conditioning and ceiling fans. This upper floor apartment benefits from superb vaulted ceilings and extensive views.
The landscaped gardens feature a large swimming pool with adjoining sundeck. This is exclusively for the 4 apartments. There are loungers and a large canopy for extra shade, as well as a barbeque area. The entrance to Jolly Harbour Marina and resort is just a few minutes walk. This extensive complex offers the largest and finest marina in the Caribbean, a fine 18-hole golf course. There is a wide range of shops, restaurants, bars, and a supermarket. For all its many amenities, Jolly Harbour remains a sophisticated and tranquil setting.

The Local Area
Hamilton Estate stands on a peaceful hillside situated on the Caribbean west coast of Antigua, a fifteen-minute drive to the capital St Johns and twenty-minutes from the airport. Jolly Beach is just a few hundred yards away a long sweep of soft white sand and turquoise sea fringed by palm trees and with a backdrop of scenic hills and peaks.

The entrance to Jolly Harbour Marina and resort is also just 10 minutes walk from Hamilton Estate. This extensive complex offers the largest and finest marina in the Caribbean and superb recreation facilities. A fine 18-hole golf course and a sports centre. The commercial centre has a wide range of shops, restaurants, bars, and a supermarket to sustain the needs for everyday living. We enjoyed the apartment very much and it was spacious for the four of us. Robert who looks after it was very helpful. The washing machine has not been working for awhile and I think it needs to be sorted but in Antigua I know this is very hard! Robert did our washing on 2 occasions which was great. The only thing we were not that happy with was the distance to Jolly Harbour-it was at least a 20 minute walk to the beach and over 10 mins to the supermarket-its a long hot walk back with lots of heavy shopping and children along a rather dodgy road. I would say a car is nearly essential. Overall, the apartment was very good-well equiped, had smart and plentiful linen,was well laid out and beautifully cool. Nice pool and gardens too.

Thank you Lynn for your review.A new washing machine is now installed. Getting parts on the island was impossible - despite our best efforts!I suspect you didnt find the direct track to the beach (about 50 yards past our entrance - approx 13 mins in total). With the time you encountered you must have gone via Jolly Harbour Resort. The walk to the supermarket does mean walking along the road as there is no footpath adjacent - this is typical in Antigua.I totally agree, a car is a great asset. Not just for local journeys but for exploring the rest of the island and its 365 beaches. In the absence of a car, and if you have young children, I would recommend using the local taxis for trips to the supermarket. They are quite inexpensive for such a short journey.I am pleased that overall you were very happy with our apartment. I will pass on you positive comments to Robert.
